Poppy King is a master at coming up with color combinations, and I adore her thought process behind the creation of this set. Poppy says, “I’ve always been intrigued by how your lips and cheeks naturally take on a rosy glow when you fall in love and so I put this set together so you can recreate that same look.”
When Poppy sent this set to test, I was ready for some romance! Lips and cheeks that have that soft pink flush reminiscent of the blush of love…or a quick roll in the hay? Sign me up!
Here is what’s inside:
Saint Pinky Nude is creamy and long-lasting for a 10% pigment, lip balmy type of product. I would say this is a YLBB shade, except my lips don’t even come close to being that beautiful of a shade naturally. It’s a fantastic pink-toned nude that doesn’t wash me out. The perfect neutral lippie.
Oxymoron does double duty as a lip-cheek rouge. The shade in this set is Honest Politician, a matte pinkish brown. This lip/cheek compact is an oxymoron because while it is matte, it feels like a gloss. It definitely gives cheeks a great glow-from-within look and Honest Politician makes a great base shade for lips.
The final lippie in the Look of Love set is Butterfly Ball in Smitten. The Butterfly Ball formula is sheer and slick, like a conditioning moisturizer with a hint of color. Each shade also has a slight iridescence that help make teeth look whiter. Smitten is a soft rose shade with a slight turquoise shimmer.
Here is a great recipe for a perfect ‘in love’ look: using fingers, tap Oxymoron Honest Politician onto the apples of cheeks for that ‘glow-from-within’ look. Then, use it as a base color for lips. Apply Saint Pinky Nude over, and follow with Smitten just in the middle of lips to make lips look super lush.
I adore this set and think it’s a perfect way to get ‘love’ly lips. Head on over to www.lipstickqueen.com to take a look! – Lisa
