As good as professional treatments? Trophy Skin MicrodermMD Home Microdermabrasion System review

I remember when I first tried microdermabrasion – it was about 8 years ago. Treatments were expensive and time-consuming, but so effective. Things haven’t changed much – they are still expensive, time-consuming, and effective! An average session of microdermabrasion ranges from $75 to $200, with the overall average cost landing at $177. However, you need to have multiple sessions for real results, so the actual cost can soar into the thousands. Luckily, what has changed in the past 8 years of microdermabrasion technology is the option of effective in-home systems that are much more affordable in comparison.

One of the stars on the market now is Trophy Skin’s MicrodermMD Home Microdermabrasion System ($299). I have to admit, I was initially intimidated by this very complicated looking system. I thought, how will I ever figure this out without scraping the heck out of my skin? I can’t even figure out how to DVR my favorite shows! Then I plugged it in and all my fears were quickly assuaged…this is the easiest system ever to use. And it does so much!

  • Buffs Away Fine Lines and Wrinkles.
  • Reduces Signs of Sun Damage and Age Spots.
  • Improves Skin Tone and Texture.

The Home Microdermabrasion System has everything you need to exfoliate skin plus more. It comes with a diamond tip for the microdermabrasion treatments, a pore extraction tip, a pack of 100 filters that should last for about a year, and a power adapter and user manual. The Pore Extraction Tip removes blackheads, whiteheads, and excess oil. It pulls debris out of pores, even from deep down. You use this on the opposite days from your microdermabrasion treatments. The Pore Infusion Tip opens pores so they are ready for treatments like serums and moisturizers.  The suction and the wide tip combination actually drives your treatments down into pores, so they have maximum absorption and you get the maximum effectiveness. Very cool.

Using the system is really simple – plug it in, put one of the tips on, then select a mode – you can go with auto, or get fancy and do custom or even sensitive if you have more delicate skin.

Then you use the wand and sweep it over whatever area of your face you’d like to treat. The wand creates a suction that exfoliates the skin. The LCD display screen on the unit shows you exactly what to do, so no matter what you never get lost.

There are tons of before and after pics on the website and Trophy Skin’s research shows amazing results in reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes, and pore size. I’ve been using my machine pretty regularly for almost two months now – about three times a week. I am very impressed with the difference in my pores. They are much less congested and I definitely see a difference in their size. My skin is smoother and my hyperpigmentation is less noticeable. I also think my fine lines are diminished as well. I always have an issue with dry skin on my forehead – it gets rough, especially during cold weather when we have a lot of indoor heat, and I definitely noticed that went away thanks to the microdermabrasion treatments.

I think that professional treatments are more aggressive for sure – but with the Home Microdermabrasion System I can give myself more treatments that eventually add up to what the professional ones did for me. And the price for the at home system is far more attractive for sure…plus it’s nice to do the treatments when I want, without having to leave the comfort of my own home. The Trophy Skin Home Microdermabrasion System is easy to use, effective, and convenient. Thumbs up for great skin! You can find this system online at .  – Lisa

I’ve thought about getting this done, but the price of doing multiple treatments always turned me off. This sounds like a much more viable option for me!

I had one dermabrasion session at a medspa in Boston, and it was great though my face was so red for hours afterwards. I would have loved to see what it would do with more sessions, but it was too expensive. This sounds like an amazing alternative!
