Go to bed with a WINK and a SHINE #PinkWink

amalie beauty wink and shine

Today I want to introduce you to the second half of my Amalie Beauty skincare routine. I’ve told you about Amelie Beauty SHINE Organic Brightening Face Oil (reviewed here) previously but want to reiterate what I love about it. This terrific facial oil has not only helped my skin but it’s taught me a big lesson about fragrance. When SHINE and WINK were sent for review and I read about them I was a little, or maybe more than a little, worried about the fragrance of SHINE. But I wanted the effects of this: hydration, nourishment, diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles, naturally fade dark spots and blemishes, and end up with a more even skin tone.

SHINE Organic Brightening Face Oil has a jasmine fragrance so you’d expect this fragrance-phobe to run the other way but that didn’t happen. I love the scent and find it soothing to use at bedtime. While SHINE can be used morning or night I prefer it at night since it’s a little less absorbant than some facial oils.

SHINE is not alone in going to bed with me, WINK is right there too. I delayed writing about WINK Lash & Brow Enhancing Oil for a few reasons. First it sells out so quickly that I wanted to be sure that it was in stock for you to buy. And more important WINK, starting on October 1, 2016, turned pink. You are going to hear a lot of BCA this month and what companies are going to do to help fight for the cure. But no one is going to be as unique and helpful as Amalie Beauty. For every tube of WINK sold they will donate one to a cancer warrior to help them regrow their lashes and brows that have been lost through chemotherapy. #PinkWink #BOGOforthe cure

If I could do cartwheels I’d do them after using WINK Lash & Brow Enhancing Oil for the last two months. I use this almost every single night on my eyebrows and about 2 – 3 times a week on my lashline. I never had to go through actual chemotherapy but I was on chemo drugs for almost 2 years. In that time my hair loss was considerable and my eyelashes and brows became skimpy. There’s a lot of self-deprecation when this goes on. I wasn’t feeling well and I hated the way I looked. But by the grace of god I came through it all and went into remission. It’s been over 5 years and my doctor tells me I’m good to go. When I fell two years ago and was in rehab I went through the process again though not due to drugs. Having WINK come into my life has been a savior. While I plucked my eyebrows in between my eyes, I just kept watching my brows get skimpier and skimpier. Now I am back to plucking!!!! Who ever thought that would be an accomplishment? We mostly complain about plucking but WINK has helped to make my brows fuller. I know that they’ll never be back to normal but I’m not getting any younger so that’s typical.

This is strictly a bedtime babe for me. Directions say to click the pen 180 degrees to get the product to come out on the brush, apply it to brows and/or your lashline, massage it gently in. That’s it. Since I wear eye makeup every day this would interfere but I can and do use it at bedtime.

Why use this? As you can see above WINK conditions, strengthens, and enhances your eyelash and eyebrow hairs. WINK is a mix of Omega 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9 essential fatty acids from a variety of natural nut and seed oils. Studies have been done that have shown that applying essential fatty acids topically can help awaken dormant follicles. It doesn’t promise to regrow hair but personally it has helped me, especially on my eyebrows. A tube should last you 60 days but I’ve used mine longer and can see there’s a lot left in it.

I hope you’ll read the story behind #PinkWink and #BOGOforcure here, I know you’ll be as touched as I am. Do yourself a favor and add this wonderful product to your routine. At the same time you’ll be helping someone who’s in need.  —  Marcia
