When the going gets tough I turn to Viviscal Hair Growth Supplements

Viviscal Extra Strength Dietary Supplement

Over the years I’ve written about several hair growth products and I’ve enjoyed them all but when the going gets tough for me, I turn to VIVISCAL Extra Strength Dietary Supplement. While I was sent this one for review I’ve been buying and using Viviscal for over 4 years now. I even have it on auto-delivery from Amazon.

I’ve had issues in the past with hair loss due to illness and it’s back again. Rather than wait and see I’m being proactive and have been using Viviscal for the last months to help my hair stay strong.

Viviscal is a 100% drug-free formula that nourishes hair and promotes existing hair growth. I suspected I was anemic but I didn’t realize just how anemic I’d become until a recent set of blood work. My internist became alarmed and started me on iron supplements and further testing. When I mentioned that I’m taking Viviscal daily she agreed that this is a great addition to my diet.

Viviscal Extra Strength Dietary Supplement stats

While I had cut back to 1 pill a day (they recommend two) I am now back on two pills per day to help stem my hair loss.

Here are the ingredients that you need to know about:

*Vitamin C (from Acerola Fruit Powder and as Ascorbic Acid)

*Niacin (as Niacinamide)

*Iron (from Ferrous Fumarate)

*Zinc (from Zinc Oxide)

*AminoMar® Marine Complex (Shark Cartilage, Oyster Extract Powder)

Viviscal Extra Strength Dietary Supplement tablets

Why do I take these pills and recommend them to my readers? Mainly because your healthy head of hair begins from within even more than what we use on it. Diet that lacks specific nutrients, vitamins, minerals or protein can make a big difference in the condition of your hair. Health issues drain your body of these nutrients causing your hair to be less strong. The marine complex AminoMar® along with the other supplements in these tablets have been scientifically proven to nourish thinning hair and promote hair growth* (data can be found on viviscal.com)

You can find Viviscal in a variety of stores like CVS, Ulta, and Target. It’s also online at Amazon (the best price I’ve found and I get an extra 5-15% off by putting it on subscribe). While Viviscal is a cruelty-free product it does contain shark cartilage so it isn’t considered vegan or vegetarian. For heavy hair loss it can take 3 months to notice regrowth because hair grows during the anagen phase of the hair cycle. Viviscal helps prolong the anagen phase so that the regrowth has a longer growing time.

I’m glad I upped my dose and am using Viviscal for my hair so that I won’t end up with the hair loss I’ve lived through before. Be proactive yourself and see what Viviscal will do for you too.  —  Marcia

I finished things! Amazing empties for March and April

It seems so rare for me to finish anything up completely other than a few staples but the last two months I actually did finish things and I’m ready for the dumpster with these. Until then see what got used up and what I think of these goodies.

March and April 2017 empties

March and April 2017 empties

Before I begin I must admit that I already threw away oodles and oodles of products. As I’m cleaning and packing I found so many that were started but never finished so I only kept the ones I really loved and tried to use those as much as possible. What you aren’t seeing is the trash that my neighborhood has seen!

Let me start with some staple items that I go through every single month and will continue to do so.

Q-tips and DHC Silky Cotton Squares

Q-tips and DHC Silky Cotton Squares

Costco knows me and my habits I’m sure. I buy these double packs of Q-Tips all the time. I use a lot of them in my life so buy stock in the company! I also have gone an unimaginable amount of DHC Silky Cotton Squares. I usually buy 6 at a time and they’ll last me for about 7 months. I noticed though that my last batch isn’t quite as soft as before so now I’m questioning whether they changed them. Anyone know?

I’m on auto-delivery from Amazon for these Viviscal Hair Supplements. I am on a maintenance dose and just take 1 per day rather than 2. I’ve mentioned many times about my hair growth problems and these help me a lot.

Bioderma Micellar Water, Dr. Brandt XYY Dual Fusion Water, Simple Micellar Wipes

Bioderma Micellar Water, Dr. Brandt XYY Dual Fusion Water, Simple Micellar Wipes

It’s obvious that I love Micellar Waters from this picture! I have a stash of Bioderma Sensibio H2O and made a point of finishing up the 500 ml and 100 ml bottles before I move. I have 1 more of each in my cupboard but won’t start those just yet. I did pick up a Garnier Micellar during a sale not long ago but that’s already packed and I also like Simple Micellar Water though I’ve noticed a slight fragrance with it. Simple Micellar Wipes are definitely my favorite wipes though. This is just a sample pack but I have a full size pack in use.

Dr. Brandt XYY Dual Fusion Water is one that I really enjoyed using but it is more expensive than these others. It feels more substantial though and it did a great job of cleansing.

Eclair Naturals Liquid Hand Soap, Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

Eclair Naturals Liquid Hand Soap, Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover

I couldn’t begin to count how many Mary Kay Oil-Free Eye Makeup Removers I’ve gone through since my first one. No matter how many others I try this is the one product that works for me time and again. I’ve already repurchased this and will again as soon as I move.

Eclair Naturals Liquid Hand Soap in Vanilla & Sweet Orange is a great natural soap that’s not drying. I’m stocked up on JR Watkins at the moment but I’ll repurchase this next.

Now for the fun stuff!

Miss Spa Oxygenating Bubble Mask and 24K Gold Creme Mask

Miss Spa Oxygenating Bubble Mask and 24K Gold Creme Mask

I’m not used to saving empties so in the past I never had them around. I purposely saved the packaging of Miss Spa Oxygenating Bubble Mask and 24K Gold Creme Mask since I totally love them. The 24K Gold Creme Mask is one I want to marry. The Oxygenating Bubble Mask was a fun bubbly alternative. I got three uses out of each package so it’s a bargain buy. I will definitely buy more after I test more of the Miss Spa masks I have.

Reviva Labs Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum, Hydroskin, IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines Serum

Reviva Labs Vitamin C+ Antioxidant Serum, Hydroskin, IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines Serum

I think I finished up Reviva Labs Vitamin C+ Serum but there might be a little left. Nothing pumps out anymore and I only see a drop inside. Reviva Labs is a favorite brand and this is a good example of why I like them. Very efficient and the price is great.

Hydroskin Skincare is a set I reviewed last month. I finished up all 4 of these products which is unusual for me but I dedicated myself to one solid month of just this line. I liked the way my skin looked with it. I still have 2 masks from them to use and review.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Lines Serum is ab fab! Not only do I love this anti-aging serum but I bought a new one before I was finished with the current one. This is my favorite skincare item from IT Cosmetics. I wish the price was less but I’ll continue buying and using this. I’m in love!

It’s a given that any time I would share an empty post that I’d have mascara. This time though I saved them after determining what needed to go before the big move. I found a lot of deluxe sample sizes and used them until dry or I didn’t care for them anymore.

In no particular order:

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara  –  always a favorite, I have another mini and a full size one still

Marc Jacobs Volume Mascara– while I liked the sample size from a kit I had bought I didn’t care for the full size one I had bought so it’s not to be purchased again.

Le Volume de Chanel  –  Love this even if this was tiny. I would buy it if I was flush.

2 more minis I forgot to picture: Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara which I loved and plan to buy one day soon. Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes, another dilemma since the sample was great but I wasn’t thrilled when I had it in full size.

Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner + Serum – love, love, love this. It’s a perfect brown liquid eyeliner. This is the second one I’ve finished and I’m using my third. There will be a 4th and 5th for sure.

Smashbox Brow Tech To Go – while I didn’t use up the gel side I did use up every bit of the brow crayon side. It’s a very handy item but I just don’t need another right now.

IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Eyeliner in Black is one I enjoyed until it decided to break so I couldn’t use it anymore. I like these liners in general though and turn to them often when I want a pencil eyeliner.

A 3x use sample of Too Faced Shadow Insurance that was in my stash. I always have TFSI in my collection!

And one toss:

Z Palette

Z Palette

I got a few years worth of use from this but then it self-destroyed. It came apart and no longer is of use. I have others plus Z Palette is out of favor right now.

So there you have it. My empties, many of which are old standbys and a new love (Stila Huge Mascara) all wrapped up in my recycling bin for now.

What have you used up? —  Marcia

Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall

Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

All the king’s horses and all the queen’s men

Couldn’t put Humpty together again

My personal version:

Blogger Marcia was in the hall

Blogger Marcia had a great fall

All the nurses and rehab men

Couldn’t put Marcia’s hair together again

You’ve read about my travails over and over since August. It affected my life in more ways than one. Not only was my leg broken at the knee but the trauma caused me to lose massive amounts of hair and eyelashes. Unfortunately this wasn’t the first time I lost hair but at least I know it could grow back with the right treatment.

Viviscal Extra Strength Dietary Supplement

Viviscal Extra Strength Dietary Supplement

Shortly before I was hospitalized I had bought Viviscal Extra Strength Dietary Supplements and took it for a few weeks because I knew my body needed more Biotin and no one has a better reputation than Viviscal. In the hospital and rehab they weren’t giving me anything other than my regular prescriptions and a multi-vitamin. I didn’t consider asking for the Viviscal from home because that’s not where my mind was.

When Viviscal emailed me by chance to test this and their shampoo and conditioner, you know what the answer was.

Viviscal Extra Strength Supplements, Viviscal Gentle Shampoo, Viviscal Moisturizing Conditioner

Viviscal Extra Strength Supplements, Viviscal Gentle Shampoo, Viviscal Moisturizing Conditioner

Now that I’ve been using this combination for the last 4 months I can tell you that I’m one happier woman and one with healthier and fuller hair. I take the supplements morning and evening. I used the shampoo and conditioner for 6 weeks before stopping to test other products but I still use it at least once a week no matter what else I’m testing.

Viviscal supplement stats

Viviscal supplement stats

Viviscal Extra Strength Dietary Supplements come in a one month or three month supply. The prices on their website are $49.99 and $119.99. To be honest though I’ve bought mine from Amazon since it’s less expensive there. There’s a ton of information about the supplements so I’ll try to condense. Viviscal Extra Strength dietary supplements contain the exclusive marine complex AminoMar®, as well as Biotin, Zinc, Vitamin C, Horsetail Extract and Iron, to nourish hair from within. Not only are you getting the Biotin that we’ve learned is great for hair but it’s supplemented with marine complex AminoMar®.

The Gentle Shampoo and Moisturizing Conditioner ($19.99 each) are free from SLS, SLES, Parabens, Artificial Colors, Artificial Fragrances and Mineral Oils. They are 96 – 99% derived from natural sources. The shampoo cleanses, conditions and exfoliates the dead skin cells on your head. The shampoo is on the thin side and is almost gel like and doesn’t lather which  doesn’t matter since it’s very effective.

Viviscal Moisturizing Conditioner is very thick. I have to keep my bottle upside down to make it easier to squeeze out. It’s a light conditioner that never weighs my hair down. Not only is this moisturizing but my hair is soft after using. It also leaves my hair smooth and with a little more volume.

Viviscal Moisturizing Conditioner

Viviscal Moisturizing Conditioner

I no longer cry when I wash my hair. My shower wall and afterwards sink used to be filled with gobs and gobs of hair. That’s not the case now. Everyone has hair fallout, that’s shedding, just like a pet sheds. My hair feels more healthy, is staying ON my head and the cycle is broken. To continue this way I am continuing with Viviscal Supplements for as long as I can. The science is behind Viviscal and I really believe in it. There’s a different supplement for men though the haircare items are the same. Since they don’t have fragrance they work equally well for all. Viviscal has a Healthy Hair Club that you can join to get free shipping and automatic delivery as well as save money.

Now that you’ve read my long story it’s time to try it yourself. If you are a US Beauty Info Zone subscriber we have a giveaway for the 3 month supply of the Viviscal Supplements, a bottle of the Gentle Shampoo and the Moisturizing Conditioner. This is open through 2/26/15 at 11:59 p.m. EST. If comments close please write your comment on our Facebook page or email me at [email protected] with your comment and then continue on. I wish you luck with both the giveaway and with having renewed, healthy hair like I do now. — Marcia
