Wonderful Wantable cosmetics for December

My December Wantable Cosmetic Box

My December Wantable Cosmetic Box

I am totally 100% thrilled with my Wantable subscription box for December. This month I was lucky to receive one for review, thanks to the readers who went through our link to give us points for these. December was a prime month for me and absolutely everything is getting use.

The biggest surprise for me this month is the Geri G Innocent Foundation ($38).I’ve never heard of the brand so I had no expectations. That means I can’t really say it goes beyond my expectations but I’ll say it anyway. I’m so happy with this foundation. I have it in the lightest shade and it’s an ideal match. According to Geri G: Non-masking and nourishing to the skin, Geri G’s exclusive water-based formula combines moisturizing benefits of Squalen Oil from oilves , green tea, white tea, with radiant pigments that conceal imperfections and illuminate the complexion. Weightless and hydrating, Innocent Foundation glides on seamlessly and provides all-day sheer to moderate coverage with a natural matte finish. For all skin types.

As someone who doesn’t feel complete without eyeliner I was thrilled to find Vincent Longo’s Cream Gel Eyeliner in Velvet Plum ($25) as one of the items Wantable chose for me. I’m surprised that the VL site describes this as a deep purple with blue pearl since I find it to be a brown with plum undertones. It’s a great color for me and one I’ll happily be wearing.

Pla eyeshadow in Shimmer Timele

Pla eyeshadow in Shimmer Timele

Pla Beauty eyeshadow in Shimmer Timele ($18) was the next product to grace my eyes. It’s a golden beige with some shimmer but not as much as the name implies. I don’t see this shade on their website but they do have a large variety of shimmer eyeshadows. If they are all this formula then they’d all be ones I’d enjoy wearing. (The shadows are also $19.50 on their website.)

I saved the Surratt box for last. I wanted to savor the delights of the box before I opened the brand I was most excited to see in there.

Surratt Beauty Lip Lustre in Nudite

Surratt Beauty Lip Lustre in Nudite ($32) goes with the theme of the box. I’ve got a very neutral look all packaged together to delight me. Nudite is one of 12 shades shown at Barney’s, the exclusive store for the line. It’s thicker than a lip gloss but thinner than a liquid lipstick, it’s sort of a cross. It has plenty of shine. I’m excited with my first Lip Lustre from Surratt and it makes me want more.

A subscription to Wantable is $36 per month and you can stop it at any time. My box was worth $113 which is incredible. The value keeps coming and the products keep getting better and better. If you still have a gift to buy then think “she’ll want Wantable” or maybe it’s time to cave and purchase a Wantable subcription for yourself. I know you won’t be sorry. — Marcia

Wantable Cosmetic subscription for 10/14 – another winner

I’ve been a Wantable subscriber since I first learned about it shortly after they opened their website. I’ve been lucky enough to get some boxes for review but even when I don’t, like today’s box, I’ve kept my subscription up since the $36 a month that I pay for a box always contains more than my money’s worth.

Wantable Cosmetics October 2014

Wantable Cosmetics October 2014

What I love best about Wantable’s subscription is that it’s 100% cosmetics. I don’t have to worry about receiving more skin products, hair products or bath/body. It’s not that I don’t like and appreciate those items, I do, but I love cosmetics and that’s where my main interest is. Whenever I open a subscription box my excitement is really for the cosmetics within. With Wantable you get to customize via your profile. My profile says that I love eyeshadow, eyeliner, nail polish and tools; that I like complexion products, brows, lash products, blush, lip color; and that I don’t want highlighter or bronzer. For October I received 1 Love item and the rest from my Like list. Let’s check these out.

Inside are 5 full size items. Wantable is only going to send full size! I was excited to see that my box carried Vincent Longo, Ofra, Chella, and Liberty Republic. These are all name brands that I’ve bought or definitely would buy.

Wantable goodies

Wantable goodies

LIBERTY REPUBLIC is a nail polish brand created by Jordan Liberty. The new collection, placed in the October boxes, is the Welcome to the Darkside collection. Interestingly enough my shade is a light one rather than a dark shade. There are 6 shades in this exclusive to Wantable collection and they are said to use a technique that helps it last for 7-14 days. I’m excited about being able to wear this beautiful peach shade, Aura. ($14)  I don’t have nail wheels available right now and the swatch on paper didn’t look good but trust me, this is pretty.

The item that stood out the most in this month’s box is a BB Cream from OFRA ($40), this is a huge tube at 2 oz. I received this in Light. Light is a good description for this since it’s not Fair enough for me and it is on the yellow side. I’ll be able to wear this if mixed with a little of my Face Atelier Zero foundation but for now it’s not quite right. The ingredients in this BB Cream are great for skin (aloe vera, vitamin E and C, avocado oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, chamomile extract and shea butter). There’s flower extract to reduce bacteria and prevent breakouts. I’ve been wanting to explore more OFRA though and this is a good way to do it.

VINCENT LONGO does double duty in my subscription box. First is the VOLUME PLUS MASCARA ($25) which I’m looking forward to using. My mascara dried up when I was hospitalized so having this is an exciting option for me.

Vincent Longo Volume Plus Mascara

Vincent Longo Volume Plus Mascara

One of the top sellers for Vincent Longo is their Lip and Cheek Stain ($24) and this month I received it in Angel’s Touch. This is more of a berry stain than I’d expect an angel to impart. The color is intense when first applied so you need to pat it to make it appear more like a stain and to set the product. Directions say to make sure your cheeks are well hydrated; begin at the apple of your cheeks and dab 2-3 dots on with the doe foot applicator. Immediately blend them outward and upward toward the temple. Add more as needed. This new gel formula is gluten free and paraban free.

The last product but the first I used is CHELLA EYEBROW COLOR in Luscious Light Brown ($18). When I returned home from my many weeks away the hair on my face had exploded. I was able to get to a beauty salon and while there had my brows waxed. They look good but certain areas are more sparse than I like. This Chella Eyebrow Color looks good, is easy to apply and needs no sharpening. Sending my husband on wild goose chases to find all my items is frustrating for us both. This solves one of those problems.

My Wantable subscription has $121 worth of product in it. This is probably the highest value yet. These are all products I’ll use even though I’ll have to adapt the Ofra BB shade so it makes the box even more valuable. Wantable made a welcome package to open upon my return and I know I’ll be welcoming them more as the months go by. — Marcia

BeautyStat sent us some awesome Vincent Longo products to try and I can’t wait to tell you about them. I think it’s really exciting that VL has several gluten-free products available. Plus, there are great shades that are wearable yet still unique enough to expand your stash.

Vincent Longo Danae Lipstick

Vincent Longo Silk Velour Lipstick in Danae

The Silk Velour Lipstick ($23) is a long-wearing yet moisturizing lipstick. It has tons of pigment with tone-on-tone pearl, which reflects light and makes lips look lush. It has Vitamins A, C and E for optimal lip health. Pictured above is the shade Danae, a beautiful rose brown. It leans more rose than brown, bringing lips to life while also staying wonderfully neutral. This is a gluten-free product.

Vincent Longo Cupid's Breath Lip and Cheek Gel Stain

Vincent Longo Cupid’s Breath Lip and Cheek Gel Stain

The Lip/Cheek Gel Stain ($24) is a multi-tasking tinted gel that is both gluten and paraben-free. There is good reason why this is Vincent Longo’s number one selling product.  The stain is waterproof and won’t transfer to clothing…or to his lips when you kiss him! A great shade for summer is Cupid’s Breath, which is a true peach. It makes for a natural, glowy blush, and is a terrific lip stain shade. I put this on my lips, let it dry for 30 seconds, then cover with a little clear gloss for a pretty summer look. I have issues with gel blushes disappearing in about twenty minutes on me, but this stain sticks around all day. I just dot this on using the doe foot applicator and then blend with my fingertips.

Vincent Longo

Vincent Longo Creme Gel Eyeliner in Velvet Plum

The Crème Gel Eyeliner ($25) is really cool. It is definitely creamier than any other gel eyeliner I have tried. The creaminess makes it a dream to apply and it works fabulous as either a precise, thin line or completely smoked out. Once it sets, it stays in place and is waterproof. This stunning shade is Velvet Plum, a deep purple with blue pearl.  It’s a winner and it’s also gluten-free.

Misty Blossom

Misty Blossom is a medium pink with tiny drops of varying champagne shades. It is a demi-matte powder with pearl, so once applied it gives a beautiful youthful glow. I love this lightly dusted all over my face and neck for a quick glow. I also layer it on my cheeks for a pretty pink flush.

Win a Wantable.com Cosmetic box

Regular readers of Beauty Info Zone know that I love subscription boxes. I’ve had to narrow it down to just a few but the ones I get are the best ones out there (in my opinion of course). I’ve raved about Wantable.com since I discovered them and filled out that first survey.

Wantable.com for June 2014

Wantable.com for June 2014

I (as in Marcia) was recently sent a box that contains one of my absolute favorite items but I already own it. After looking at the box I asked the owners if they minded if I shared this with a reader so they could see why I’m so crazy about Wantable. If you are the winner (US only) you’ll receive this box, a typical wonderful Wantable.com cosmetic box. The items have been opened to be photographed but that’s all – not swatched or touched. I guess you could be me wearing these.

The value of this box is $88 but with a subscription it would cost you $36. The brands it contains are incredible: Tarina Tarantino, Mirabella, Ofra and Vincent Longo.

Here’s what the winner will receive:

1) Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cream Blush in Mr. Pink

Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cream Blush in Mr. Pink

I am totally in love with this blush. I own it and I wear Mr. Pink or Coral Cameo all the time. A Tarina Tarantino blush is always on my vanity since I wear one so often. This swatch picture is from my original review and I’m glad I have it to show you the beautiful cool pink tone.

Besides the great cream blush the other side has a light creamy sheen with some golden sparkle. I don’t use that side personally since I’m not a face sparkle person but it is beautiful and would look great on the right person. This $28 blush is the highlight of the box in my personal opinion.

2) Mirabella Lip Color in Tantrum ($22) is a rose pink and a perfect shade for the Tarina Tarantino blush. Both are going to make you look fresh and rosy all year long. This is from a new collection called Pretty & Polished with highly pigmented shades.

3.) Ofra Universal Eyebrow Eyeliner ($10) looks like a great brown eyebrow pencil. I haven’t tried Ofra products yet and I was tempted to keep it but I wanted someone to receive the whole box. Ofra products are known for their incredible pigmentation so this isn’t going to be wimpy.

Ofra Universal Eyebrow Eyeliner

4) Vincent Longo Pressed Face Powder in Golden Banana ($28) – this is such a wonderful brand. I have quite a few Vincent Longo products in my collection. This is a large mirrored compact with the softest of powders in it. It comes with a powder puff so you can touch up on the go. “By triple milling the powder and using real silk fibers, the powder becomes ultra fine and smooth to the touch.” A yellow powder just warms up your complexion, it doesn’t look yellow once on.

Vincent Longo Galaxy Dream eyeshadows – quite dreamy indeed

I can’t remember the last time I bought something from Vincent Longo. I don’t think it’s a memory problem either; it’s more that I can’t see the line in person so it slips away and hides from my credit card. From what I understand the line was on the way to the cosmetic graveyard. Now though life has been infused into Vincent Longo and new products are available. When I was recently in California our first stop was to go to the Space NK store in Bloomingdale’s at Fashion Island. When I saw the Vincent Longo display I remembered the review of eyeshadows by Everyday Beauty so I knew I had to check them out.

There are 5 new variegated eyeshadows that delight the eye just seeing the pans. The formula is called Pearl X and the new collection is called Galaxy Dreams. When you look at the eyeshadows you can see what a perfect name it is for the collection. What you see though is not necessarily what you get. Each shadow turns into a different lovely shade.  They are a mix of matte and pearl colors.

Code 6 Pink turned slightly taupe when I tested it

Novalea turned a combination of light blue and lavender

Destiny Rose turned an iridescent pinky purple on my hand

Etherea is a gold or bronze depending on your skintone

Luna Beach turns taupe on some people, silvery lavender on others

When Vincent Longo discusses these eyeshadows they talk about them being personalized and that’s what we found when we tested them. As you possibly know I’m very fair with cool undertones. I have a picture of Lisa’s hand taken at the store so you can see the difference between Luna Beach on her hand and on mine. (The order swiped on her hand is Novalea, Luna Beach and Etherea.)

When Zuzu from Everyday Beauty reviewed Luna Beach she mentioned that it turned a beautiful shade of taupe on her eyes. I absolutely love taupe eyeshadows and when I tested the shadow at the store I saw taupe. But what I get on my eyes is a cool toned eyeshadow that’s on the silvery lavender side. It’s not what I bargained for but I really love the shadow and find it easy to wear.

I love the magical effect of taking all those shades and swiping my brush across them to come up with a completely different color. The pigmentation is good although it’s lighter than I expected. The shadow is silky soft and doesn’t bleed powder all over my face. What’s most important though is that it lasts well all day.

For the following eye I used VL Luna Beach on the lid, Le Metier de Beaute Rose Champagne on the browbone and the deep purple in Le Metier’s Le Cirque palette on the outer crease.

I really hope that Vincent Longo starts expanding into more stores so that you can see these eyeshadows and discover what the transformation on your skintone would be like. You can purchase Pearl X eyeshadows on the Vincent Longo website as well as by calling the lovely and helpful Teri Chiuminatta at Space NK in Newport Beach. (Space NK Newport Beach, 949-729-6803, email [email protected]

If you go to Prime Beauty’s blog today you’ll find her review of Code 6 Pink which I’ve ordered from a blog sale thanks to her raves. I’ll update with pictures when I have this in my hot little hands. — Marcia
