Shaving made simple with the Gillette Venus® Swirl™

Venus® Swirl™All razors aren’t created equally. A few months ago I ran out of razors, so I bummed one from my son.  It was a standard disposable razor, hadn’t ever been used…and I thought it was going to tear off all of my skin! I still can’t believe he uses those things on his face. I was so happy when Gillette Venus sent me the new Venus® Swirl™ , their razor with the revolutionary FLEXIBALL™ and 5 individually adjusting Contour™ blades.

Venus® Swirl™Venus® Swirl™Thanks to the FLEXIBALL™, the razor glides right over knobby knees and ankles, grabbing and removing every hair that’s there. If you don’t absolutely love it, Venus will give you 2x your money back, that’s how confident they are with this razor. I can’t imagine anyone returning this because it is just awesome.

In addition to the FLEXIBALL™ and 5 individually adjusting Contour™ blades, it also has a water-activated MoistureGlide™ serum, which means that shaving is a pleasure even without any sort of soap or shaving cream. The handle is awesome too because it won’t slip out of wet, soapy hands.Venus® Swirl™Venus® Swirl™

Venus has great products and great info, too. Here is their list of Five Things You Didn’t Know About Hair Removal – But You Definitely Should!

1. Hair Regrowth, It’s Genetic

You may perceive that hair grows back thicker, faster and darker after a shave, but in reality, hair regrowth is determined by DNA. On average hair grows ¼ inch per month – regardless of whether you shave or not. Shaving does alter the shape of hair at the tip, which can make hair seem thicker as it grows back, so make sure you are using a razor designed to move in multiple directions to reach all your tricky areas and catch every last hair, like Venus Swirl. If not, add stubble to the list of things you got from your mama.

2.  Water Is Your BFF
When it comes to shaving, hydration is key. Dry hair can be as strong as copper wire of the same thickness, making it difficult and painful to remove. Hydrated hair is softer hair, so removing it? Super easy.

3. When it Comes to Underarms, Follow the Directions

Let’s bring it back to shaving 101. Most women were taught to shave against the direction of hair growth for the closest, smoothest shave. This method is true for most of your body, but not your underarms. Underarm hair grows in different directions, so when removing it go up, down and sideways.

4. Treat Yo Self! Invest in Quality Razors
You’re not afraid to invest in your beauty routine for great results, and your shaving routine shouldn’t be any different. Not all razors are created equal!  When you invest in a high-quality razor, you’re less likely to experience nicks and cuts because the advanced blade technology allows for more pressure to be applied to the skin for a smooth shave.

5. Hair removal is personal.
It’s not one size fits all experience – you have to find the right method for you. Test them out, and see which one fits your lifestyle. In fact, on average women use 2 ½ different methods to remove hair from different parts of the body.

You can find Gillette Venus Razors – and the awesome Venus® Swirl™ – at local drugstores everywhere.  – Lisa
