Looking for Gold Medal nails? SinfulColors presents Rio Shine

Inline image 1

The Olympics aren’t over although my chances of winning a medal are less than zero but I can still have award winning nails with this new collection from SinfulColors. Actually these polishes are part of a new line from them called SinfulShine. These $2.99 polishes and top coat are a bargain alternative to gel polish. There are two steps only – polish and cover with SinfulShine Top Coat. That’s it. No base coat, no machines to dry your nails, no difficult removal. These remove like any polish I’ve used.

SinfulShine Rio Shine polishes

SinfulShine Rio Shine polishes

I was sent 4 of the SinfulShine polishes from the exciting RIO SHINE collection and the top coat to try and I’m here to tell you that these need to be on your list too. The 6 polishes from Rio Shine are perfect for the city of Rio with its bright celebrations. They are just what you’d imagine the city to look like.

Pink Pintura – limited-edition powerful pink

Rise and Shinier – exotic limited-edition green

Samba-dy to Love – limited-edition deep purple

Bananappeal – tropical yellow

Most Sinful – vibrant blue

Picante – fiery red

SinfulShine Top Coat – over-the-top shine

SinfulColors created a new Gel Techä Formula so that you can create your own gel polish manicure. The shine you get from these is beautiful and long lasting. It’s hard to believe that you can spend just $2.99 and get this kind of formula when the nail salons charge a premium for doing gel manicures and then you have to pay for removal.

I choice to wear Samba-dy To Love since the deep purple just called to me. These polishes need two coats. Upon applying the first coat of polish I was sure that it would need three coats but the second coat filled it in so perfectly. It has a richness that you wouldn’t expect to see from a drugstore brand, especially a value 2 Step Polish.

Since gel nails aren’t going anywhere you need to catch up with the action and Rio Shine is the best place to do it. With 2 limited edition polishes in this collection don’t hesitate. Go USA!!  — Marcia

Top 10 Under $10

Top Ten Tuesday is always fun but today is especially so. I got to pick out 10 items that cost $10 or less to show you. With the winter holidays peeking around the corner you need to find some stocking stuffers or just something to perk up your own life. Here are some of my favorite cosmetic items. I’d love to learn what yours are too. — Marcia

LIPS

1.  PIXI BEAUTY SHEA BUTTER LIP BALMS ($8) come in 5 colors plus clear and they are totally awesome. They are a combination of a nurturing lip balm and a lipstick except they aren’t sticky at all. My blog partner Lisa raves about these constantly so I had to see what the fuss was about and now I agree with her. Pick from Ripe Raspberry, Coral Crush, Pixi Pink, Natural Rose, Honey Nectar or clear. I can’t wait to go back to Target to pick up Pixi Pink.

Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Natural Rose

Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balm in Natural Rose

2.  COLOURPOP is the hot brand of 2015. Their products are all so reasonably priced ($5-$8). They are known for their Ultra Matte lipglosses but those don’t do it for me. I do like their Lippie Stix though and I have several including the sheer Juice Bar in the collage. While not my favorite I appreciate all the choices and that they have matching Lippie Pencils for most of the Lippie Stix ($5 for the Lippie Stix, $5 for the Lippie Pencils). Totally fun pick me up and if you use the code “thanksbabe” you’ll get $5 off your order.

.

BLUSH

3.  Speaking of ColourPop, they have 24 shades of blush in three different finishes (matte, satin, and pearlized). The texture of ColourPop blush and eyeshadows is not what you expect. They have a spongy feel to them and are a bit tricky the first time you apply them, but after you get the hang of them you’ll come back for more.

4.  MILANI ROSE POWDER BLUSHES aren’t in my collection but they need to be. There are nothing but raves for these. At $7.99 if you see them, grab them.

.

EYES

5.  HARD CANDY SASSY EYES SULTRY PALETTES ($8) are in sturdy metal palettes with shadows that belie their price. There are 3 variations of these and if they are anything like the Smokey Eye Palettes that I have from the spring, then they are top rate. I still use my Smokey Eye Palettes all the time.

6.  SLEEK I-QUAD EYESHADOW & EYELINER PALETTES  ($8.99) are on my wishlist. There are 3 different palettes with three eyeshadows and a gel eyeliner. I’d have chosen one of the I-Divine eyeshadow palettes if it were under $10 but those are just above the limit at $11.99. This is a brand that I’m loving the more I use it.

.

NAIL POLISH

7.  SINFUL COLORS ($1.99) amazes me. I’ve had the opportunity to review quite a few of their polishes and they last a full week on me. I know I mention them often but there’s a good reason for that.

8.  PIXI BEAUTY NAIL POLISH ($8) is another polish brand you’ll hear about from me over and over. I love how easy these are to find at Target, I love the colors, I love the wear. I just bought Olive Gold at Target after craving that shade for so long. With 40 shades you’ll easily find some you’ll crave too.

.

HIGHLIGHTER

9.  e.l.f. ILLUMINATING PALETTE ($6) will satisfy your craving for highlighting aka strobing. 4 shades, $6. Can’t be beat. I just wish I could find the newer e.l.f. in stores.

.

CLEANSING

10.  SIMPLE SKINCARE MICELLAR MAKEUP CLEANSING WIPES (approx $6) don’t totally fit this week’s theme for me but I just bought them and I’m impressed with a capital I. These wipes are different than the other brands I’ve tried. They are refreshing and remove cosmetics really well. They are gentle enough for my eyes which surprises me. Normally I use a separate eye makeup remover but so far I’ve even been able to get away without that. These may end up on my Top 10 list of the year.

Makeup Wars – 5 favorites under $10

Makeup Wars - 5 under 10

Makeup Wars – 5 under 10

For this week’s Makeup Wars the choices were infinite but the decision was made in a flash. These 5 (actually 7 since I’m like that) are the products that get constant use so you need to know about them. I’ll start with my eye favorites since that’s what I do when I apply makeup – go for the eyes.

MILANI EYESHADOW PRIMER is one of the best primers I’ve tried no matter the cost. I usually switch between this and Too Faced Shadow Insurance but the truth is that for $6 this could be my only choice and I’d be just as happy as with my $20 TFSI.

Milani Eyeshadow Primer

MILANI BELLA EYES GEL POWDER EYESHADOW in Bella Chiffon and Bella Espresso are my fall back shadows. I’ve purchased at least a dozen of the 31 shades. While I like them all, it’s these two that I couldn’t do without. Bella Espresso is a dark brown satin matte. If all mattes shadows wore like Bella Espresso I’d be a convert. It’s hard for me to believe it’s a matte since it has a sheen to it. I love that I can intensify it if I want it dark (which I usually do) and that this cool toned brown works with just about everything. Bella Chiffon is a shimmering off-white shade. There’s no glitter or sparkle but it’s bright and I love it on my browbone. At $4.49 you can buy them both for $10 but I bet you won’t stop at just 2.

REVIVA LABS EYE MAKEUP REMOVER GEL ($5) is a fabulous eye makeup remover. I was sent one to test and shortly after bought a second – I don’t want to run out of this ever. This incredibly gentle gel removes even the most stubborn gel liners and mascaras. It’s moisturizing, conditioning and non-oily. Fabulous stuff from a fabulous company. Another reason I love Reviva Labs.

HARD CANDY FAST & FABULOUS TRANSLUCENT FINISHING POWDER ($6) is the reason to drive to Walmart right now (well you can finish reading the review if you want). This is the only pressed powder I’m using these days. I use a soft kabuki brush to apply this matte powder and it helps keep my foundation set and looking good throughout the day. Its oil absorbing finish helps blur my many imperfections.

Two nail polish brands had to be included since they are fabulous easy to find products. The entire SINFULCOLORS line of nail polishes are $1.99. And they last, they really last! The colors are beautiful and the quality is equal to any high end brand you can think of. It’s rare that I can find a $2 treat that isn’t fattening but these fill the bill. Another brand that I love and can be found at Target is PIXI BEAUTY ($8). I’ve reviewed a lot of Pixi’s nail polishes and have loved them all. My newest one is Olive Gold and I found it on sale at Target for $3 – color me golden. I can’t wait to wear this fall shade and share it.

For this entire post – all 7 items – the total would be $36! I’ve spent that much on a single mascara. I’d much rather have these 7. Let’s see what the other Makeup Wars bloggers picked. I’ve got all that change that I can spend! What’s your favorite under $10 product? — Marcia

SinfulColors A Class Act: Part Deux

SinfulColors A Class Act polishes - all 27

SinfulColors A Class Act polishes – all 27

Yesterday Marcia gave you a great review of her five shades from the SinfulColors A Class Act Collection (read it HERE!), and today I have my five shades. I know Marcia thinks she came out as the head of the class with her choices, but I am pretty sure mine are even better.

SinfulColors A Class Act

My five shades include Energetic Red, Fig, Purple Diamond, Ice Sparkle, and Pink Break.

Sinful Colors A Class Act

Energetic Red is a bold cream red that is a great back to school color. This is actually re-promote, but it’s a shade worth having back again.

Sinful Colors A Class Act

Fig is a really gorgeous deep plum. It’s described as a ‘fruity dark purple fig red’. I’m not sure if you can tell in the pics, but this has a very slight shimmer that gives it some depth. I already know I will be sporting this shade while clutching some delicious hot chocolate during the winter holidays.

SinfulColors A Class Act

Purple Diamond is actually my favorite. While this light lavender with silver shimmer seems more like a spring color, it’s so darn pretty I know I will wear it year round. It looks best with three thin coats…so girly and pretty!

Sinful Colors A Class Act

Ice Dream is a clear topcoat with blue and silver shimmer.  For the photo I applied two coats so you can see what it looks like on its own.  One coat is all you need over a cream shade for lots of sparkle and fun.

Sinful Colors A Class Act

Pink Break, a Walgreen’s exclusive color. turned out to be a mystery for me. I had my nail tech put this demi-matte on me, and before I remembered to tell him not to put on a topcoat it was already done. With a topcoat it’s a pretty light pink cream. Then I redid my nails with the polish and no topcoat…and it never went matte. The photo above is with two coats of Pink Break and no topcoat! I’m not sure what happened, but it definitely didn’t even come close to having the same finish as the demi-matte Marcia tried, Blue Sensation.

Overall, I think Marcia and I both got some real winners. At only $1.99 these polishes are a perfect way to spruce up your tips and just in time for back to school! Be sure to check them out while you are at Walgreens or Walmart getting all those other school necessities. – Lisa

Sinful Colors A Class Act

SinfulColors A Class Act

Beauty Info Zone received 10 of the 27 beautiful A Class Act collection from SinfulColors. We had trouble divvying them up but we had to play by the rules and pick one polish at a time to share these beauties. Personally I think I came out the winner but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want the other 5 or 22 polishes to be mine.

Tell me you don’t want them too!!

The five polishes I have to share with you today are Blue Sensation, RADient, 24/7, Truth or Lavendare, and Ice Blue. SinfulColors has proven to me time and again that I don’t need to spend my money on Chanel or Dior polishes like I used to. Instead these $1.99 polishes wear perfectly on me and always get compliments. Each of these has a different finish and look that goes beyond the color.

The first one I wore was BLUE SENSATION which is described as a “lustrous silvery sky blue”. I’ve never worn a polish with this finish or look before and I was mesmerized by it for the week I wore it. I didn’t use a top coat over it because it had a demi-matte finish with swirls of light running naturally through it. I was sure I’d get tired of the finish halfway through the week and apply a top coat but I couldn’t bring myself to change this pretty color.

RADient was next and the only one I had some problems with. It’s a very sheer finish that would be better for someone with shorter nails than I have. But the color is so pretty that I’m willing to do 4 coats to wear this. This is a vibrant raspberry with a demi-matte finish.

24/7 on the other hand was the most delightful polish to wear. 24/7 is a hot pink cream that wore like a dream for an entire week. My nails looked good as new when I went for my next appointment but I still had more SinfulColors I wanted to wear.

TRUTH OR LAVENDARE is another with the great demi-matte finish. This one really wore well though and wasn’t see through. Two coats were perfect for this creamy lavender shade. I’m surprised how much I like the finish but not surprised on how well it wore.

I saved the best for last — ICE BLUE is simply stunning. If you asked someone to name what brand it is they’d never guess that such a beautiful shade would be a $1.99 polish. Everyone commented on it. SinfulColors describes this perfectly “soft indigo blue exploding with silver sparkle”. The shade is totally unique and I don’t have another polish that comes close to it. I needed three coats for this manicure. The first coat was very thin, the second coat filled it in nicely but with my longer nails I knew that the key was an extra coat. I had no problem with dry time and I can’t stop staring at my nails. This is the one I’ll wear again and again.

You need to get to Walgreens or Walmart and look for this new collection of shades before it’s too late. I’ve seen some at Walgreens and came close to buying A-Crush soft baby blue demi-matte) and now I’m sorry I didn’t. Tomorrow Lisa will share her five polishes and I’m sure they’ll be almost as just as great as the ones I got during our trade session.

The latest Influenster VoxBox – Sunshine! #SunshineVoxBox

If you are a social being and spend your time online with Facebook, Twitter or Instagram or any of the social media sites then you want to know more about INFLUENSTER. This is a free box that’s always different. I’ve gotten the Influenster Vox Box a few times to share with you while others have gotten surprise packages with a yet to be introduced product, luxury products like YSL and specific brand boxes like Maybelline or Neutrogena. You don’t have to have a blog to be an Influenster but I’m sure it helps since they are looking to spread the word about new products and experiences.

Before I got the box I had no clue what I’d find inside. Luckily I love surprises (the right kind of surprises) so I knew that I’d be in for some fun.

VASELINE INTENSIVE CARE SPRAY MOISTURIZER ($6.49) was the item that was the most obvious and one I’ve been very curious about so this was a thrill. I’ve read a lot of reviews about this non-greasy spray that helps to moisturize your body and was happy to give this a whirl. What’s so great about this is that I can get my back. I never have a chance to moisturize my back and really never gave it much thought before. But I do now. This is fast and easy to use, I just spray in a circular motion and it reaches all over. It absorbs quickly and dries fast too. If you can reach to rub it on that’s the best way to get it to absorb. This contains aloe and micro droplets of Vaseline.

VASELINE INTENSIVE CARE SPRAY MOISTURIZER

VASELINE INTENSIVE CARE SPRAY MOISTURIZER

INFUSIUM23 MOISTURE REPLENISHER ($6.99) is a leave in treatment. It’s extremely moisturizing with ingredients like Avocado Oil and Olive Oil. You don’t need much at all. As a matter of fact my advice with anything you apply to your hair is to start small as you can always add more if you want. This was created to help with frizz and lack of shine. The fragrance is a little perfumey at first but it does dissipate along the way.

DICKINSON’S ORIGINAL WITCH HAZEL REFRESHINGLY CLEAN CLEANSING CLOTHS ($6.99) – what a mouthful. But these cleansing cloths are surprisingly nice. They are both soap and fragrance free to my delight. They are great for removing the oils from the day as well as makeup but they are not recommended for eyes. There are 25 cleansing cloths in the package which is a good size. The top peels back and then seals pretty well to keep the other cloths damp. The wipes contain aloe and botanicals so even though they are fragrance free there is a slight natural smell to them. I go through a lot of cleansing cloths when I’m swatching for the blog so it’s nice to have gentle ones that don’t dry me out.

SINFULCOLORS nail polish in REAL TEAL ($1.99) is one of my favorites in this box. I’m a huge fan of SinfulColors polishes because they last and last on me. I’ve been wearing different shades of theirs for the last few weeks actually. Real Teal is one of their Silk polishes. It’s a metallic teal that’s beautiful. A perfect summer shade.

Now to the good stuff – just ask my husband. Inside the box was a package of BLUE DIAMOND ALMONDS in BOLD SIRACHI FLAVOR ($1.59). Since I don’t do hot stuff I knew someone who did and he was very happy to be the one to finally get something from one of my many packages. This is the perfect size too for a snack (better have water nearby!). Almonds are good protein and I’d be happy to have these without the Siracha.

INFLUENSTER SUNSHINE VOXBOX even sent coupons and I can’t wait to take one of these to the store. It’s for a free 4.7 oz bag of BARK THINS ($4.99). If you’ve never had barkTHINS you don’t know what you are missing. It’s a twist on a traditional chocolate bark. They have different ingredients added to them like pretzels, pumpkin seeds, whole blueberries or toasted quinoa. We’ve bought these several times in the big Costco size bag so now I want to get a flavor we haven’t tried yet. In addition to the barkTHINS I received several coupons for $3.00 any Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel Product.

Having a Blast with the SinfulColors July 4th Collection

SinfulColors for summer 2015

SinfulColors for summer 2015

Is there anything that says summer more than the 4th of July? Fun, fireworks and vivid colors are the name of the game for the 4th and the rest of the summer. That’s why SinfulColors created their HAVING A BLAST collection. Your hands and feet can celebrate too with any of these 7 polishes in this great collection. SinfulColors sent us these beautiful polishes and we want you to see how you can look your best for only $1.99.

Which of these colors calls your name?

Blue By You: Pearlescent royal blue

Green Ocean: Glitter-flecked emerald

Hot Spot: Shimmering cobalt blue

Out Of This World: Perfect silver with swirls of glimmer

Ruby Ruby: A classic deep red

Snow Me White: Bright white

 GLITTER TOPPER

Star Blast-Off: Star-spangled red, white, & blue confetti

MARCIA’S PATRIOTIC MANICURE WITH SINFULCOLORS

SinfulColors RubyRuby, Snow Me White, Hot Spot

SinfulColors RubyRuby, Snow Me White, Hot Spot

The SinfulColors nail polishes that I was most excited about were the beautiful red, white, and blue ones. I wanted to be my patriotic best for the weekend of the 4th but at the same time have polishes I’d use again and again.

Ruby Ruby is described as a classic deep red but it’s a super pretty red that’s not really that deep. It’s a lively red that can be worn year round and will draw the kind of attention you like to your tips and toes.

Snow Me White is a true bright white that’s not chalky. I didn’t have a great white in my collection even though I have so many nail polishes. It’s used as an accent in my manicure but will be used alone soon enough. I should have let my red and blue dry longer before applying Snow Me White since they did bleed through a little.

Hot Spot is my perfect shade of blue. Described as a shimmering cobalt blue is a fitting description for this slightly metallic hue. Classic and beautiful.

These pictures were taken after wearing the polishes for 6 days so you can see how beautifully they held up. SinfulColors is so long wearing that it’s hard to believe how little they cost.

LISA’S HAVING A BLAST

My colors are a little less traditional than Marcia’s. I have a beautiful glimmering silver, Out of this World. It’s one of the prettiest silver polishes I own and is definitely a festive shade for the fourth!

Sinful Colors Out of this World

My other two shades can be used alone or as a topcoat over a solid shade. Green Ocean is a glitter-flecked emerald that is perfect for a non-traditional yet still sparkly shade.

How could you not have a blast with my final nail polish, Star Blast-Off? This one is labeled as a ‘glitter topper’ and is a truly star-spangled mixture of red, white, & blue confetti. The clear top coat has tiny white specks, big white stars, and red and blue dots.

Sinful Colors Star Blast Off

SinfulColors Star Blast Off

By itself, the base has a slightly pink hue. This is fabulous over all of Marcia’s patriotic shades, and it’s super pretty over Out of this World. I am going to a party on the 4th and plan to wear this over Snow Me White.

You can easily find this collection at Walgreens and Target. If you want fun, festive nails that are a total blast, SinfulColors has exactly what you need!!
