Cleansing with Éclair Naturals bath and body products

Eclair NaturalsIt’s not difficult to convince Lisa to try a new body care line, but Marcia? That’s a different story! Marcia is sooo picky when it comes to body care that it takes something extraordinary to entice her to take a chance.  Éclair Naturals intrigued both Lisa and Marcia with their natural food grade ingredients which include three powerhouses:                                         samples

Jojoba & Almond Oil

  • same molecular structure as human sebum (your skin’s natural oil)
  • penetrates skin and hair follicles to reduce water loss
  • reduces wrinkles/stretch marks, cleans clogged pores and restores skin’s natural PH balance

Pink Himalayan Salt and Dead Sea Salt

  • over 250 million years old
  • high concentration of key minerals such as magnesium, copper, calcium, sodium and potassium
  • critical to our skin’s metabolism

Pure Essential Oils and Natural Plant Extracts

  • contain the essence of the plant and all of its rejuvenation/resiliency characteristics
  • no phthalates like synthetic counterparts

With such great ingredients, testing this line was a no-brainer. The biggest challenge? Deciding which of the seven different scents to try.

LISA CHOSE CREAMY COCONUT:

Well of course I chose coconut! This is a scent for purists. No lime, no vanilla, no pikake…just deep, delicious coconut.  Yum.

Eclair Naturals All Over Lotion in Creamy Coconut

Eclair Naturals All Over Lotion in Creamy Coconut

Éclair Naturals All Over Lotion in Creamy Coconut ($8.99)

This is a big tube of creamy, rich body lotion that is extremely moisturizing. The ingredients include shea butter and jojoba oil, which make this medium-weight lotion exactly what you want to reach for when skin is feeling super dry. I find that it is excellent for prolonging self tanners because it really locks in moisture and leaves skin ultra hydrated and satiny soft. Eclair Naturals Shower Gel in Creamy Coconut

Éclair Naturals Shower Gel in Creamy Coconut ($8.99)

This is a beautiful shower gel that lathers up beautifully and rinses clean but doesn’t strip skin. It’s also perfect for layering scent. I use it in the shower, then follow with the Creamy Coconut All Over Lotion for an even deeper coconut scent that stays with me all day.

Eclair Naturals Handcrafted Soap in Creamy CoconutEclair Naturals Handcrafted Soap in Creamy Coconut

Éclair Naturals Handcrafted Soap in Creamy Coconut ($4.99)

Such a beautiful, big bar of soap! The coconut scent is a little lighter than the shower gel and body lotion until you actually lather this up. The lather is incredible. I find myself spending a few extra minutes washing my hands just because it feels so good! This big bar lasts a long time and is pretty enough for any powder room.

MARCIA CHOSE VANILLA AND SWEET ORANGE:

Éclair Naturals Vanilla & Sweet Orange

Éclair Naturals Vanilla & Sweet Orange

When accepting Éclair Naturals products to test the first thing I noticed was their policies. Not only are they cruelty free but they made sure they were tested by Leaping Bunny to verify that status. Not every brand is accredited by Leaping Bunny because the tests are strident, but with Éclair Naturals passion for animals they were proud to add the expense of application. Being vegan they leave out ingredients that are less expensive in order to be PETA approved too. Their products are completely free of harmful products found in traditional body care, such as GMOs, parabens, and synthetic colors & fragrances. Plus, they are cruelty-free, soy-free, gluten-free, and vegan.

I love the lather I’m getting from this Shower Gel. I feel like the fragrance is a cocktail where I’d first taste the sweet orange but the lingering sensation would be the vanilla. It’s a great combination for this shower gel. It doesn’t leave any soapy feeling behind, just a fresh clean feeling. The shower gel contains a blend of vegetable glycerin, aloe and Vitamin E. So while it’s gently cleansing the botanical extracts replenish essential nutrients.

One of the ingredients in the handcrafted soap is glycerin which forms the basis of the product. But this glycerin is from vegetable oil and not animal fat. Not all manufacturers use this type of glycerin in their bar soaps because it’s a more expensive ingredient and is normally reserved for more profitable products. The soap itself is very emollient so it’s a great hand soap for my guest bathroom. It’s nice to have a product in there that will not only look good but that will leave our hands moisturized and softly smelling like the vanilla and sweet orange fragrance.

Éclair Naturals Liquid Hand Soap

Éclair Naturals Liquid Hand Soap

Éclair Naturals Liquid Hand Soap

This is my most used and favorite product of the three. I am constantly washing my hands and I need something that is gentle because of that. Liquid Hand Soap has a nice rich lather but one that doesn’t strip my hands. Even in summer my hands can look dry but I haven’t really noticed that since I started using this soap. The fragrance is soft and non-lingering yet it makes my bathroom smell much more pleasant.

These products along with others in the Éclair Naturals line are all gently priced and can be found on their website. With 7 different fragrance collections (creamy coconut, grapefruit, french lavender, vanilla & sweet orange, shea butter & oatmeal, sea breeze, and Indonesian patchouli & sandalwood) there’s surely something for every member of your family.

Did you know that Derby Day is Saturday May 7th? It used to be on my mind more than it is nowadays but that’s mainly because my husband would go to Vegas with friends that weekend giving me a few days to indulge in my favorite activities. I’d leisurely shower since no one else was using up the hot water, I’d pamper my toes, I’d eat a lot of junk food and no real meals, and I’d read a lot.

Make your shower time magical with Argan Magic

Is there anything that Argan Oil doesn’t make better? I love what it does for my skin, hair, nails, and even cosmetics. It’s really magic. And speaking of Argan Oil and magic – how about a brand called Argan Magic! This brand picked the correct name since everything I’ve tried from them is magical. Lisa has already told you about their wonderful haircare and she’ll soon be telling you about other products they’ve created. Now it’s my turn and I’ve been lucky enough to use 3 items that I’m excited about.

As you probably know argan oil is the ingredient from Morocco that’s considered “liquid gold”. It’s particularly rich in Vitamin E, phenols and phenolic acid, squalene and Omega 6 essential fatty acids – all of which simultaneously help to protect, soften, and moisturize your skin. Argan Magic uses 100% pure cold pressed argan oil in their products. They don’t water down the most important ingredient by heating it up and breaking down the benefits of the oil.

Most Beauty Info Zone followers know that I’m not a person that likes fragrance in items so when I rave about something that contains a fragrance you better believe I mean it. I have two Argan Magic products living in my shower and one on my counter.

I started with Argan Magic’s Bloomin’ Body Wash ($22, 8 fl oz) which contains a very mild almond fragrance. I’ve tried another brand’s almond wash and would gag every time I opened it and finally tossed it out even though almond is one of my favorite scents. Bloomin’ Body Wash has just a hint of almond in an argan oil base. It lathers up nicely and I don’t find it’s too sudsy. My skin is so soft after using this. I know my skin hasn’t been stripped but just enriched.  I enjoy rubbing my arms because of the soft and supple feeling that the argan oil has created.

Bloomin Body Wash was crafted to leave your skin clean, but not tight. Because you are using it in the warm shower or bath, the pores in your skin open up and allows the Argan Oil to go to work, soothing, softening and delivering those Omega Fatty acids and high concentrations of Vitamin E to the skin.

My other shower staple is Zesty Orange Body Scrub ($22, 8 oz). This contains crushed lotus seeds and is one of the gentlest scrubs I’ve tried.

The texture of it is very fine, not gritty at all. I love that it’s gentle yet does exactly the job it’s supposed to do. There’s no skin damage with this from harsh salt or even sugar scrubs.  I especially love that it washes away so cleanly without leaving my shower a mess. The fragrance is a light orange with a touch of pomegranate. It’s not perfumey (yea!) and can easily be used by the man in your life. I don’t leave my shower smelling like this so “if” I did use fragrance it wouldn’t interfere at all. Instead I leave my shower just smelling fresh and feeling clean.

The last product I’m trying (but certainly not the last I’ll ever use from this brand) is the Soothing Skin Salve ($22, 1.5 oz). This is a jar of a skin and hair savior. This salve can be used on split ends or flyaway hair (like my bangs that take on a life of their own at times). It can be used on your cuticles, elbows, heels, actually anywhere on your body that needs some help. It even helps with chapped lips. It’s wonderful to put on your lips when getting out of the shower to soften them and get them ready for your lip of the day.

I had a cut on my face from my razor this week because I was my usual klutzy self and wasn’t thinking when I picked it up. I put this balm on it and within 2 days the nick was totally healed and invisible to anyone else. Not only does it contain argan oil but it also contains safflower oil, almond oil, olive oil and beeswax to help soothe and heal. Now reading that list of ingredients you’d think it would have an oily feeling but that’s not true. It comes out solid and melts down just a little bit. There’s no greasy feeling from this at all.  I especially like to use this on my fingertips since I get chapped skin there. The scent of orange and pomegranate is soft and unassuming.

At this time these particular Argan Magic items are just sold on their website but they have hair products that are available at CVS so I certainly hope these will be available there soon too. It’s worth buying online though when you can find products with this kind of magic.  Since this is only available online please see below for a discount. — Marcia

The BIZ arranged for a web discount for our readers with the terrific people at Argan Magic!  We do not profit from this in any way, we just loved these products so much we wanted to get our amazing readers the best deal possible.

You can find Argan Magic hair products in CVS stores, on the Shopping Channel, and online .  For the next few weeks, BIZ readers get 25% off their entire purchase, only at www.arganmagicbeauty.com .

Sunday Spotlight on Korres

There’s a lot of Korres love going on nowadays. I rarely hear anything but raves for this line. Reviews on Emakemeup.com are always so delicious and tempting. Here’s a few that we find particularly intriguing.

Brenda loves the fragrance and hydration she gets from Quince Body Butter .

If Quince doesn’t get your mojo going then how about Jasmine Body Butter?

There are a lot of scents in Korres’ Showergels. PomMom has written about this amazing product.

She’s also a fan of their luscious Cherry Full Color Gloss.

Speaking of lips and Korres, we are always reading raves for their Lip Butters. Alisa has done a good job of tempting us with her review of these. (You can also follow Alisa’s blog for other favorite products of hers.)

Unfortunately Katgirl didn’t find a lot to love about their Pomegranate Cleansing Wipes so we have to learn to take the good with the bad.

If you’ve wondered about Korres sign up for their website. They always have Special Offers that are sent in emails and are advertised on their site. And don’t we all love getting bonuses with our purchases!!

Thanks for reading the Emakemeup reviews on Korres. There are more on the site for you to enjoy; we’d love to hear what you love about this brand.
