Appriya Transformative Skincare introduction with a giveaway

Appriya Transformative Skincare, Mineral products

Appriya Transformative Skincare, Mineral products

We’d like to introduce you to APPRIYA, a skincare brand that Beauty Info Zone was sent to test. The happy news is that the company sent us several of their best products for a giveaway. We love spoiling our readers with giveaways and we love testing and learning about a company as unique as Appriya.

Appriya is different than the other products we use because it’s based on water. Not just any water though but the untouched mineral waters that create the basis of their line.

Appriya water is rich in restorative natural nano like particles. These biodegradable nano like particles dissolve into the skin, enhancing the efficiency of each product’s active ingredients and ensuring a perfect and even application of every cream, serum and tonic. The skin absorbs the minerals from our water to detoxify the complexion, reduce inflammation, boost moisture retention and supplement collagen and elastic fibers for healthier skin. Bursting with the optimal balance of ionic dissolved minerals, Appriya water offers the most hydration and moisture with its neutral pH and biodegradable properties.
There are 5 products in the Appriya mineral line and all contain silica. Silica has many properties that fortify and nourish our skin, nails, and hair. It invigorates collagen and boosts the elastin that’s deep within our skin.
MARCIA shares Appriya Mineral Tonic, Mineral Complex Serum and Delicate Zone Mineral Serum while LISA shares Appriya Mineral Cleansing Mousse and Comprehensive Mineral Day and Night Cream

Appriya Mineral Tonic and Mineral Serums

APPRIYA MINERAL CLEANSING MOUSSE

Appriya Mineral Cleansing Mousse Appriya Mineral Cleansing Mousse

($59.00)  I absolutely love this cleansing mousse. It has coconut and fruit sugars which help dissolve oil and dirt, along with vitamin E to help protect skin. The mousse is beautiful foamy goodness that works great with my Luna. I have tons of cleansers but I reach for this one all the time. Ingredients include: Coco Glucoside, which is derived from coconut and fruit sugars and provides hydration and helps maintain skin elasticity while controlling oil production. Allantoin, which is derived from the Comfrey Root-this botanical extract is an excellent soothing and healing agent. Vitamin E, which is a nutrient and antioxidant that defends against free radicals and other environmental damaging effects.

APPRIYA MINERAL TONIC

Appriya Mineral Tonic

Appriya Mineral Tonic

The secret to Appriya Mineral Tonic lies in the Appriya water that’s in every Appriya product. The water is pure and untouched but gathers its essence by the way it flows across ancient marble where it becomes enriched with silica and hydrogen peroxide.

The ingredients within are what makes this a unique toner: Cucumber Fruit Extract, Lactic Acid, Mushroom Extract, Niacinamide, Fermented Soy, and Vitamin C. Each has a job but combine to make sure that your skin remains calm and hydrated. The Niacinamide helps with acne even. The formula refines your skin’s texture and adds to the hydration level. I use this mostly at night to make sure that the remainder of my cosmetics are removed leaving my skin more hydrated. There’s a very light fragrance that’s gone quickly.

APPRIYA COMPREHENSIVE MINERAL DAY & NIGHT CREAM

Appriya Comprehensive Mineral Day & Night CreamAppriya Comprehensive Mineral Day & Night Cream

($189.00)  This is pretty spendy, but hey – it’s infused with colloidal gold! This ingredient plus a host of others create a truly elegant formula that does everything good you could wish for in a skin cream: boosts elasticity, fades wrinkles, evens skin tone, soothes skin and plumps it up. Check out all this goodness:  Niacinamide (Vitamin B3), which helps even skin tone, improves skins moisture and reduces the appearance of acne. Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parki), embodied with Vitamins A and E, moisturizes the skin and reduces inflammation. Glycolic Acid, which treats acne and oiliness, diminishes blackheads, minimizes pores, and reduces fine lines. Hibiscin Seed Extract (Hibiscus Esculentus), which strengthens weak skin, and has a strong immediate tensor effect. Colloidal Gold, which helps firm skin and reduces the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Evening Primrose Seed Extract (Oenothera Biennis), which improves acne, psoriasis, and eczema. Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, which stimulates collagen and elastin fibroblast to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

I am very impressed with this beautiful moisturizer and I know you will be too!

APPRIYA MINERAL COMPLEX SERUM

Appriya Mineral Complex Serum

Appriya Mineral Complex Serum

While there are two serums from the Mineral line they are used for different purposes. Mineral Complex Serum is a great facial serum that’s especially good for dry skin. The ingredients are extremely hydrating and nurturing. Aloe, Horse Chestnut Extract and Niacinamide are the hydrating ingredients along with Appriya Water. These are native Thai elements that have been recognized to reduce redness, to calm and to soothe. The Niacinamide helps balance the moisture content so you look more radiant.

Appriya Mineral Complex Serum

Appriya Mineral Complex Serum

But there’s more!! Coconut Oil, Lotus Flower Extract and Evening Primrose Seed Extract are all indigenous to Thailand and work together to diminish wrinkles and give you a brighter and more balanced skin tone. It’s very lightweight and doesn’t take long to be absorbed into your skin; as you can see from the ingredients there is a light floral fragrance that is appealing.

APPRIYA DELICATE ZONE MINERAL SERUM

Appriya Delicate Zone Mineral Serum

Appriya Delicate Zone Mineral Serum

Delicate Zone Mineral Serum is almost as nourishing as Mineral Complex Serum but it’s intended for different areas. The work accomplished is the same in both as they help to rejuvenate, pamper and restore radiance. Delicate Zone can be used near your eyes, on your neck and decollete. I’ve used it on my face too actually.

Appriya Delicate Zone Mineral Serum

Appriya Delicate Zone Mineral Serum

As well as the Appriya water it contains Anti-Aging Plant Stem Cells that are derived from Apple Fruit Cell Culture Extract – powerful anti-oxidants that help diminish fine lines and wrinkles. It also contains Squalene that helps fight free radicals and smooth the look of fine lines. The Squalene is plant derived unlike others. Follow the two serums with the Comprehensive Day & Night Cream for maximum benefit.

DIY skin protection with About Face Vitamin C Serum

About Face Vitamin C SerumVitamin C serums WORK. They diminish fine lines, even out skin tone, and smooth the skin – they are superheros in the skin care world. However, they have an Achilles heel – they either need super expensive stabilizing ingredients to keep the ingredients fresh, or they are housed in improper storage jars which render the ingredients ineffective.

About Face Sin Protection Vitamin C serum has the answer to the Vitamin C issues — mix your own for the freshest serum that stays stable for several months.  Read on for Lisa and Marcia’s experiences with this awesome product!                                          (pr sample)About Face Vitamin C SerumAbout Face Vitamin C Serum

Lisa says:

How cool is this? I am not much of a ‘do it yourself’ person, but this couldn’t be easier. Just mix one vial of Vitamin C, one vial of hyaluronic acid, and then fill the bottle with water. Let it sit overnight and voila – in the morning you have an amazing bottle of beautiful, silky vitamin C serum. Vitamin C reverses damage and protects skin from UV light, smoke, and pollution. This has brightened my skin and I swear my fine lines have lessened. I am a huge stickler about proper packaging and the About Face Serum is truly like the answer to my packaging prayers. I give this is big vitamin C thumbs up.About Face Vitamin C SerumAbout Face Vitamin C Serum

Marcia says:

I feel like a mad scientist when I prepare About Face Vitamin C serum. I love that I am in control and can create a new bottle when needed. The box comes with three components: an empty mixing bottle, 4 separate tubes of Vitamin C, and 4 separate capsules of Hyaluronic Acid. It’s so easy to mix up so that you have a fresh bottle of serum. Add one capsule each of the Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid to the empty bottle, fill with water, close and shake really well. Be sure to allow the serum to dissolve overnight.

About Face Vitamin C SerumAbout Face Vitamin C Serum

Before you apply, shake the bottle and then use the dropper to dispense the amount you need and massage it on your skin. As you can see the bottle is amber colored so that no light gets through.

About Face Vitamin C Serum

Not only are you mixing Vitamin C and getting the benefits that it provides but you’re also getting the benefits of Hyaluronic Acid. While we naturally have this wonder ingredient in our skin adding more helps provide the moisture we need. The hyaluronic acid molecule absorbs 1000 times its weight in water. The end result is that it provides a protective barrier to lock in the moisture making your skin look and feel healthier.

About Face Skin Protection Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid

About Face Skin Protection Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid

This is a great serum that isn’t sticky and can be used once or twice a day. I love that there’s no fragrance to it and it’s great to know that I’m putting on something fresh. This is a great serum to layer too. I’ll apply this onto my skin first thing after cleansing since it’s the thinnest liquid, then once it dries I’ll apply another serum and moisturizer. So if you have a favorite serum then About Face is a wonderful addition, if you don’t have a serum this is all you’d need.

About Face Skin Protection Vitamin C serum

About Face Skin Protection Vitamin C serum

With just three ingredients you can see that About Face Skin Protection Vitamin C Serum is the purest product available. There are absolutely no fillers. And it’s a bargain! You have the components to make 4 bottles and the kit is only $25. Your skin will thank you for using this. It’s Marcia and Lisa approved.

Turning up the heat on skin care with Meltology

Meltology Skin Care

Meltology Skin Care

Does a little heat make skin care work even better? The spa skin care line Meltology thinks so and has self-heating technology in their products to help ingredients penetrate skin while sealing in moisture. Meltology sent the BIZ several products to test and today I have four to tell you about – Moisture Boost Cleanser, Hydrating Skin Toner, Skin Balancing Renewal Lotion, and Revitalize Skin Concentrate.  Later Marcia will have some other Meltology for you, plus a giveaway!

Meltology Moisture Boost Cleanser

Meltology Moisture Boost Cleanser

Moisture Boost Cleanser ($18)  This is a soap-free gel that takes the cleansing job seriously, cleaning dirt, makeup, and clogged pores like a champ. I love the gel texture, it makes cleansing tools like the Luna or Clarisonic a breeze to use. The cleanser has these little microspheres of Vitamin E that burst as you clean, giving skin a great antioxidant boost.  Ingredients include:

Panthenol: Moisture-protecting skin hydrator.

Allantoin: Soothing agent originally derived from comfrey root.

Microspheres: Gentle cleansing microspheres of Vitamin E.

This cleanser is best for dry to combination skin. It does have fragrance, including Cedarwood oil, Cassia, Clary Sage, Lime, Lemon, Rose, Jasmine, Tuberose, Bergamot and Orange essential oils, so those with sensitivities will want to try a different cleanser. The Moisture Boost Cleanser does not contain sodium lauryl or laureth sulfates.

Meltology Moisture Boost Cleanser and Hydrating Skin Toner

Meltology Moisture Boost Cleanser and Hydrating Skin Toner

Hydrating Skin Toner ($18) This toner is lovely in that it really cools and soothes dry skin. It feels wonderful on, and preps skin for moisturizers and treatments. The only potential problem with this toner is the inclusion of lavender and rose essential oils which can be irritating for some skin types.  Other ingredients include:

Panthenol: Provitamin B5 quickly absorbs hydrates inside skin’s surface.

NMF Complex: Bio-sugar blend mimics skin’s own Natural Moisturizing Factors for instant comfort.

Saccharide Isomerate: Sugar-based “moisture magnet” locks moisture within the skin.

Copper PCA: Mineral-based hydrator assists skin’s absorption capacity.

The Hydrating Skin Toner is alcohol-free and does not contain synthetic fragrance or synthetic colorants.

Ok, I know I said there was heat technology in these products…keep reading!

Meltology Skin Balancing Renewal Lotion

Meltology Skin Balancing Renewal Lotion

Skin Balancing Renewal Lotion ($40) This is a very nice, lightweight moisturizer. If you have super dry skin I don’t think this would be a good fit, but any other skin type will really like it.  Ingredients include tons of vitamins to fight free radicals. Again, it has essential oils, including natural plant essential oils of jasmine, bergamot, cassia, lemon and orange peel, lime clary sage, rose, tuberose, and cedarwood. Check out these other great ingredients:

LumiFirm Apple Stem Cell Complex (Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Extract and Algae Extract): Combats tired, dull-looking skin by visibly enhancing skin’s own youthful vitality.

Sandalwood, Phellodendron Bark & Barley Extract: Natural plant oils soften and condition skin.

Moisturizing Plant Phospholipids: Restore the skin’s natural moisture barrier for all day comfort.

Tocopherol Linoleate: Moisturizing Vitamin E; keeps skin moist and supple.

Panthenol: Provitamin B5; Deeply hydrates, soothes and restores the skin’s moisture.

If it weren’t for the possibility of skin irritation from the essential oils I would be raving about this, but there is chance this moisturizer could irritate your skin.

Meltology Revitalyze Skin Concentrate

Meltology Revitalyze Skin Concentrate

Revitalyze Skin Concentrate ($100)  This is the star of the Meltology products I tested. Revitalyze is a lightweight serum that smooths skin, balances out skin tone, and gives it a wonderful, natural glow. These are just a ton of super-antioxidants to fight against free radical damage. Here is the heat-stimulation! It does feel warm when applied and it’s great for all skin types including very congested.

This product is paraben-free as well as fragrance free – no essential oils in this one, so it will work on sensitive skin! Here are the ‘super-antioxidants, adaptive extremophiles and new skin moisture-barrier protectors’:

Thermus Thermophilus Ferment: This heat-loving, deep-sea Extremophile is a new ingredient harvested from thermal hot vents very deep in the ocean. Heat-activated enzyme – As the temperature rises, Extremozyme activity increases up to 300%. Helps neutralize free radicals and lipid peroxidation, which only gets more effective with temperature increase.

Algae Extract (Duniella Salinas): Derviced from fresh water algae with very high concentrations of salt; reduces oxidative stress, and acts as a super skin energizer to clarify and brighten skin tones and diminish the look of age spots.

Apple Stem Cells (Malus Domestica Fruit Cell Culture Extract): The ingredient was discovered when Swiss farmers noticed that a particular variety of apple had an extremely long shelf life, and maintained its moisture and flavor properties for longer periods of time than regular apples. The extract was isolated and found to help prolong the quality of human skin as well.

Matrixyl 3000 (Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide): Peptides are small chain amino acids (proteins) that encourage cell renewal that slows with age, to frim as it visibly corrects signs of aging by smoothing the fine lines and surface wrinkles.

Sea Whip Extract (Pseudopterogorgia Elizabethae): Discovered by Scripps Oceanographers, this potent, skin-soothing and calming agent soothes in seconds, and banishes redness in minutes.

Silver Ear Mushroom (Tremella fuciformis polysaccharide): Five times more hydrating than Hyaluronic Acid.

Superoxide Dismutase: Powerful biological antioxidant in liposomal form that helps control signs of redness or skin irritation.

Trehalose: Antioxidant cell protector; found in ‘resurrection’ desert plants that bloom after years of dormant dehydration.

(TRF) Tissue Respiratory Factors (Saccharomyces Lysate Extract): A bio-available liposome to revitalize skin and help correct red or yellow skin tones to improve the overall look of the skin.

All I have to say is WOW. You want cutting edge skin care with every ingredient short of the kitchen sink?? Here you go! There’s one more product that I think is really essential to get the very best out of the Meltology products: the Self-Heating Spa Facial Mask. Marcia, the queen of all masks, will be reviewing this and more in a few days – and you will have a chance to win some of the masks for yourself, so be sure to stay tuned! You can find these products and more at www.meltology.com.  – Lisa

Side by Side: Osmosis Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum and Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist

When a skin care product claims an increase in elasticity of 110% and a 64% reduction in redness/broken capillaries, we pay attention! Osmosis +Pur Medical Skin Care, a line developed by doctors and clinically proven to work, sent us their dynamic duo of Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum and Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist to try. With the amazing clinical test results we had high expectations…read on for our report!

Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum and Clear Plus

Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum and Clear Plus

LISA’S SIDE:

The Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum sounds almost like a miracle serum – among other things, it reduces pre-cancerous skin lesions by 15%, increases DNA repair by 33%, and increases elasticity by 110%. Those are some incredible numbers. I use this age-reversing serum every morning and night. The first time I used it I was surprised at the color – unlike most serums, this one is brown.

Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum

Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum

I really don’t understand how it repairs DNA…Osmosis says it “activates your natural zinc finger remodeling process, which is a critical part of DNA repair.” I can’t explain it, but I love the ingredients, which include vitamin C, amino acids, and minerals. After applying this serum, I follow it with a few sprays of the Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist.

Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist

Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist

To be honest, I don’t really  understand all the science behind this one either. It has ‘scalar waves’ that help the serum (or any other treatment product) penetrate the skin, so it increases the efficacy. It also stabilizes bacteria levels, firms skin, and gives lots of hydration.

Together they make a great team. The serum goes on a little sticky and the hydrating water takes that away and feels so incredibly soothing. I have to say, my skin has been looking fantastic since I started using this combo. I don’t know if my results match the clinical numbers yet, but I am going to use them until my bottles are completely empty to make sure I give them every chance to perform some miracles for me.

MARCIA’S SIDE:

Osmosis Catalyst DNA Repair Serum and Clear Plus Hydration Mist

Osmosis Catalyst DNA Repair Serum and Clear Plus Hydration Mist

I agree with Lisa that it’s hard to totally understand the science behind this duo but I’ll take them at their word since I’m not a scientist. Unlike Lisa though, I won’t be finishing mine up. My skin has become dry and as much as I like the after effects of the Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum I don’t think it likes me.

Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum from the pump

Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum from the pump

Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum after

Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum after

I too was surprised to see the brown Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum but I know it’s the combination of the ingredients. On the bottle it tells us that the serum may darken over time but that is normal and doesn’t compromise the efficacy of the product. After shaking the bottle I need just 1 pump to cover my entire face (directions say apply 1 – 2). Then I spray on the Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist and massage my face with these two products.

I find it stays sticky on me so I wait a while before applying moisturizer. The serum has a medium fragrance that I just can’t place. Osmosis says it’s natural black cherry but to me it’s almost woodsy. The Hydration Mist on the other hand has a very light citrusy fragrance that keeps the Repair Serum from becoming overbearing for my very sensitive sniffer.

Osmosis recommends this for all skin types but with my skin so dry from the winter I’m going to put the serum away for warmer weather. My skin looks amazing after using it consistently for a few weeks but it’s become too dry.

 Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist

Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist

On the other hand I have continued using the Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist. This provides slip to products and is great with a mask to reactivate it. Most masks I have are pretty “juicy” but when they aren’t I’ve sprayed the Clear Plus Activating Hydration Mist over and brought it back to life. It’s also a great mist for refreshing your face during the day. While the Hydration Mist is my favorite I am anxious to use the Catalyst Serum again since my face definitely looked more radiant in the morning after cleansing.

Both of these products are part of OSMOSIS SKINCARE’S PROFESSIONAL LINE and can be found on Dermstore and Skincare by Alana as well as other skincare sites.

Catalyst AC-11 DNA Repair Serum ingredients:  Aqua (Harmonized Water), Sodium Bicarbonate, Ketoglutaric Acid, Uncaria Tomentosa (Cat’s Claw) Extract (AC-11®), Ascorbic Acid (L), Glycine, Propanediol, Proline (L), Lysine HCI (L), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Alanine (L), Zinc Gluconate, Dimethicone, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Alcohol Denat., Glycerin, Benzyl Alcohol, Copper Gluconate, Tocopheryl Acetate (D-alpha), Phospholipids, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Butylene Glycol, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Polyglyceryl-4 Caprate, Magnesium Chloride, Xanthan Gum, Potassium Sorbate, Fragrance (Natural Black Cherry).

Correct and Rescue your skin with Osmosis Skin Care

Osmosis logo
Kate Upton - image from usmagazine.com

Kate Upton – image from usmagazine.com

Last July I read a skin care testimonial from the gorgeous model Kate Upton. She was raving about her facialist, Anna Antal, who uses Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare products. Flying off to New York for a facial isn’t exactly easy for me to do, but luckily I am able to test a few Osmosis products that the company sent for review. Kate calls the line ‘amazing’ and her skin is amazing, so I was excited to try some products that have interesting ingredients.
Osmosis Skincare
Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare is a new skin care line for me. Marcia previously reviewed their CC Cream, which she really liked – you can read her review HERE. Besides color products, Osmosis has a wide array of skin care products that address pretty much every skin issue there is. It was originally developed by Dr. Ben Johnson, who was interested in helping people with skin inflammation. I definitely have inflammation issues, along with an oily t-zone, hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, and elasticity issues. To address these concerns, I was sent Correct Level 3 Vitamin A Serum and Rescue Epidermal Repair Serum to test.
Osmosis Correct Vitamin A Serum

Osmosis Correct Vitamin A Serum

The Osmosis Correct Vitamin A Serum ($65) is a retinol product. My skin loves, loves, loves retinol. Retinol is a very powerful antioxidant and a skin-communicating ingredient, which means it tells older skin cells to function like normal skin cells. The packaging is extremely important, because exposure to air and light makes any powerful retinol ingredients ineffective. The Osmosis packaging is perfect – air-free pumps and opaque bottles. This serum is exactly what skin needs for rejuvenation – increased skin structure, elasticity and collagen production, and decreased wrinkles. The one note I have is the scent. It smells very strongly of ozone and the scent doesn’t fade quickly. Most of the time it doesn’t bother me, but I have learned not to use it if I am leaning towards or have a headache.
Osmosis Rescue Serum

Osmosis Rescue Serum

I use the Correct Serum along with the Rescue Epidermal Repair Serum ($110). Every review I’ve read for this serum is a total rave so I was willing to try it – even though I am not familiar with the star ingredients. The main ingredient is called Trioxolane, which is a mixture of new technology and sweet wormwood, an ancient Oriental medicinal herb. Just take a look at all it promises to do: neutralize toxins, calm inflammation, activate epidermal wound repair, minimize the appearance of pores and age spots (an effect that lasts even after use is discontinued), and dramatically improve skin texture. Just like the Correct Serum, this has a very distinct ozone scent. If the scent doesn’t bother you – or the price which is pretty spendy – this is an extremely impressive serum. I find it soothes any inflammation including blemishes. Sometimes I will put it on by itself at night as a mask if I want really fabulous, glowy skin the next day.

Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare is sold in spas which you can find via the store finder on their website, osmosisskincare.com. It’s also available online through stores like dermstore.com. I am very excited about these serums and I think this is a line worth investigation. If you are looking to correct and repair your skin, these two products just might be your answer. – Lisa

TRUFORA skincare – a new organic, cruelty-free line to learn about

trufora logo
I’m always interested in learning more about skincare that is anti-aging while at the same time being organic, cruelty-free and vegan so when TRUFORA was sent I was happy to try it out. The CEO and founder of TRUFORA isn’t new to the skincare world. She’s worked with both Proactiv and SkinMedica which are amazing companies on their own. When Sara Sweeney started the Trufora brand her objective was to bring effective products that the user can feel good about. She worked with a renowned dermatologist, Dr. Fran Cook-Bolden, to make sure that the ingredients used were safe and effectual.
TRUfora Anti-Aging Skincare products

TRUfora Anti-Aging Skincare products

TRUFORA‘s line consists of 7 products that you can purchase individually or in a variety of systems including monthly systems that you’d save money buying. I love the packaging of this line. Besides great colorful products they are all in containers that won’t get contaminated by fingers when you use them. I also like that they differentiate between day (white) and night (fuchsia) creams and serums.

The skincare line includes:

  • Trufora Day Serum 85 (SRP: $60.00)
  • Trufora Intensive Night Treatment (SRP: $65.00)
  • Trufora Night Serum 85 (SRP: $80.00)
  • Trufora Perfecting Eye Treatment (SRP: $55.00)
  • Trufora Titanium Day Cream (SRP: $45.00)
  • Trufora Triple Action Exfoliator (SRP: $45.00)
  • Trufora Ultimate Facial Cleanser (SRP: $30.00)

So let’s see what these products are all about.

trufora facial cleanser
TRUFORA ULTIMATE FACIAL CLEANSER is a combination gel/cream cleanser. Because of the formula it doesn’t foam up on my skin. I apply it on damp skin and it removes my makeup without any dryness. They say it’s safe for eyes but I haven’t tried that. The cleanser, along with their other products, are loaded with some amazing ingredients.

Botanimoist AMS Extracted from dried apples, this moisturizing saccharide complex smoothes skin texture.

Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract 100% Organic Aloe Vera with vitamins, minerals and amino acids; hydrates and soothes skin irritations.

Quillaja Ultra Organic 100% Organic surfactant (lightly foaming) extracted from the bark of Chilean Quillaja trees.

MariMoist® Hydrating complex of marine-based, high water binding constituents. Contains Hyaluronic Acid which helps to maintain skin’s moisture balance, keeping it plump and supple.

CP Oat Avenanthramide Extract Powerful natural antioxidant and anti-irritant properties of Avenanthramides found in oat grains. Reduces redness (erythema) and inflammation and relieves itching.

TRUFORA Triple Action Exfoliator

TRUFORA Triple Action Exfoliator

TRUFORA TRIPLE ACTION EXFOLIATOR is definitely triple action. This is a heavy scrub for my face and one I can’t use more than twice a week. While this might be good for people who like really scrubby exfoliators, I prefer using it twice a week in the shower. It does the job well but it’s also harder for me to remove if I do it at my bathroom sink. The chemical exfoliation comes from AHA and BHA while the physical exfoliation is from both Kaolin Clay and Bamboo. I like how my face looks afterward but if you have sensitive skin, I don’t think this one is for you.

TRUFORA Titanium Day Cream SPF 30 and Day Serum 85

TRUFORA Titanium Day Cream SPF 30 and Day Serum 85

TITANIUM DAY CREAM SPF 30 BROAD SPECTRUM SUNSCREEN and DAY SERUM 85 are the two main daytime products. Day Serum 85 is named this way because “85% of the visible signs of aging are due to the negative effect that environmental factors have on the skin.” This serum protects your face from the environment as well as radiation. I’m a huge serum fan and use one twice a day and this is one of my favorites. It’s a very light creamy serum that is fragrance free and is a great base for their day cream. I let it absorb for a few minutes and it leaves my face feeling moisturized and never sticky.

Titanium Day Cream is a nice light moisturizer with some fabulous ingredients. The sunscreen protection is top notch. It contains a very high physical barrier of UV protection. Some of the key ingredients are below:

UV Cut Titanium Dioxide Ultra-fine Titanium Dioxide offers both UVA (320-400nm) and UVB (280-320nm) protection.

Vederine® Rich in oligofructosans from chicory, this restructuring active ingredient enables skin to recover an optimum epidermal barrier without UV exposure.

This is a great duo but can be used with other products if you like.

TRUFORA Protecting Eye Treatment

TRUFORA Protecting Eye Treatment

TRUFORA PROTECTING EYE TREATMENT is in interesting packaging with a metal tip applicator that helps cool down your undereye area and can help with puffiness. This has some hefty goals since it says it addresses the signs of aging like dark circles, puffiness, fine lines, and loss of hydration and firmness. I prefer this for daytime since it does have a slight brightening effect but I don’t like the metal tip applicator. In my experience it doesn’t apply the treatment evenly and tugs on my skin. If I pump out more it will glide easier but it still isn’t my favorite application. I don’t use the metal tip, I only pump out the cream and apply it with my finger. It is nicely hydrating but it doesn’t help with my puffy under eye area. It contains some of the most unique ingredients I’ve seen in the world of eye creams though.

TRUFORA Intensive Night Treatment and Night Serum 85

TRUFORA Intensive Night Treatment and Night Serum 85

NIGHT SERUM 85 and INTENSIVE NIGHT TREATMENT are probably my favorites of this group. The Night Serum contains Hyaluronic Acid which is one of my buzz words. “This quickly absorbed, potent anti-aging serum also contains vitamin C, aloe, and oat avenanthramides. Night Serum 85 provides intense hydration to the skin through multiple forms of hyaluronic acid, an apple derived moisturizing saccharide as well as a soy based moisturizing complex.” The ingredients in this intrigue me and are so effective. TRUFORA Skincare regimen

TRUFORA Skincare regimen

What’s so interesting is the variety of ingredients TRUFORA uses in each of their products. You can tell a lot of research has gone into this skincare line. For me one of the biggest selling points is that the line is totally fragrance free but I also appreciate that it’s an organic line that is cruelty free. With all the skincare lines available it’s not always easy to find the right products but with TRUFORA I’ve found quite a few that I’m extremely happy with (the serums and Night Treatment especially). While I wouldn’t repurchase the Eye Treatment or Exfoliator I know that these are great products but that they just aren’t what I’m looking for.

If you are in the market for a new skincare system then consider TRUFORA, especially since the ingredients are what makes this stand out from the rest. — Marcia

Reviva Labs Nourishing Cream and DMAE Firming Fluid

It’s no secret that the Beauty Info Zone ladies love Reviva Labs products. We are always thrilled to receive these for review and to buy more on our own. This reasonably priced skin care line hits all the right buttons. The company was started over 40 years ago and sold in skin care salons and health food stores worldwide. They are proud (as they should be) that their products are not only effective but also cruelty free. With two products that we’ve been testing, here’s our Side by Side Review.

MARCIA AND REVIVA LABS DMAE FIRMING FLUID

I’ve been using both of the products we’re reviewing today since they work so well together. DMAE is a thin serum so I start with this over my entire face and neck. It contains a higher potency of DMAE Concentrate which helps to firm and tone skin. I’m sure almost everyone reading this would love to help firm skin.

Reviva Labs DMAE Firming Fluid

DMAE FIRMING FLUID ($19) contains 5% DMAE compared to the normal 1/2%- 1% in most creams and serums. Rather than try to paraphrase perfection, here’s what Reviva Labs tells us about DMAE: Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE) is often called “facelift in a jar” by skin care specialists, because it helps firm and tighten the skin. With regular use DMAE will give skin a more defined, youthful appearance.
DMAE, a component of cell membranes, is also one of the substances used by the body to make the neurotransmitter molecule acetylcholine. DMAE’s firming effects are believed to involve the signaling of acetylcholine in the skin.

This Firming Fluid is a great first step before the Nourishing Cream. It isn’t sticky, it sinks into my skin within a minute and then I apply Nourishing Cream over it. If you want firming and more youthful skin along with the compliments that you’ll receive on your skin tone, then here’s where you should start.

LISA AND REVIVA LABS NOURISHING CREAM

Do you want plump, smooth skin with less wrinkles? Then you want the Reviva Labs Nourishing Cream ($25). I love many Reviva products, but this is my all time favorite. The ingredient list is simply outstanding with 10 EFA (Essential Fatty Acid) oils. Here are the ten reasons you want this amazing moisturizer for your face, neck, and hands.

1.  Sunflower Oil is one of the best cosmetic ingredients out there since it has no fragrance and is a fantastic emollient and inflammation reducer.

2.  Flaxseed Oil is another star ingredient – it’s an antioxidant, emollient, and it has linoleic acid, which is excellent for skin repair.

3.  Borage Oil is another non-fragrant ingredient with linoleic acid, and is a fabulous antioxidant, emollient, and inflammation reducer.

4.  Rosehip Oil is a very emollient oil with antioxidant properties.

5.  Hemp Seed Oil is a fatty acid known for excellent emollient properties.

6.  Avocado Oil is a non-fragrant plant oil that is, you guessed it, a terrific emollient and antioxidant. Are you sensing a trend here??

7.  Wheat Germ Oil is a non-fragrant emollient oil that skin loves.

8.  Black Currant Seed Oil is one of the best antioxidant anti-inflammatories. It’s an awesome emollient for skin.

9.  Olive Oil is an emollient that contains squalene, which you may have also heard of. It also has linoleic acid and is a great antioxidant.

10.  Sesame Oil is yet another excellent emollient.

With ten different oils, an understandable assumption is that this must be one heavy, pore-clogging cream. Much to my delight, all of these oils are combined into a truly elegant formula – a light cream so beautiful I could almost eat it with a spoon.

EFA’s (also known as Omega-3 and Omega-6) come from plants and they restore the skin to a youthful appearance. What does youthful skin look like? Full, plump, and smooth. If I could fill a bathtub with Reviva Labs Nourishing Cream and soak my whole body in it, I would. However, I am settling for smoothing it onto my face, neck and hands. You should too!!
