Fall Blog Hop Giveaway with Pixi Multibalms

Pixi by Petra Multibalms

Pixi by Petra Multibalms

What is a Multibalm? It’s a little bit of everything that you’re going to love. Pixi by Petra sent these for review and was kind enough to send a second batch which is the Beauty Info Zone prize for the FALL BLOG HOP GIVEAWAY. Each of the blogs involved will have their own prize to give away to a subscriber from the US or Canada. This is a completely different giveaway than any I’ve done before so be sure you read the directions at the bottom of the post.

Pixi Multibalms

Pixi Multibalms

Pixi created 5 different shades of 2-in-1 MultiBalms and they are all beautiful. Smooth and creamy, they just glide on. These are a product that you can apply on your cheeks and lips. They make pretty lip shades, you can even wear them on your eyes, but best of all they work as a wonderful cream blush. These are fragrance free which gives them a big edge in my book plus they are just $12 each which gives them a bigger edge. As someone who’d rather use a cream blush and has a big collection of them, I think these are right up there with much more expensive products. These cream to powder tubes last a long time though they will fade as time goes on, but it’s so easy to apply more and it doesn’t cake up.

There are 5 shades available: Baby Petal, Sheer Sculpt, Soft Strawberry, Watermelon Veil, and Wild Rose. There’s one for every taste and skintone but I think you need more than one!

Pixi Multibalms: top Baby Petal, Sheer Sculpt, Soft Strawberry; bottom Watermelon Veil, Wild Rose

Pixi Multibalms: top Baby Petal, Sheer Sculpt, Soft Strawberry; bottom Watermelon Veil, Wild Rose

Baby Petal is described online as “petal”. It’s the peach one in the bunch. It’s a soft inviting shade that looks wonderful with neutrals and brown family eyes. On my fair skintone it’s a peachy pink, a shade that I love.

Pixi Multibalm Baby Petal

Pixi MultiBalm Baby Petal

Sheer Sculpt is described as cocoa. This can be used a a contouring shade or for those of you that like a brown tone blush, Sheer Sculpt will be perfect. This can be used on eyes too but it’s not a long lasting look for eyes. It’s great for an hour or two but then I find it creases.

Pixi Multibalm Sheer Sculpt

Pixi MultiBalm Sheer Sculpt

Soft Strawberry looks very bright in the tube and Pixi describes it as a ‘red berry’ but the word soft does apply since you determine the intensity of this. It’s a stunning color that gives you a Kool-Aid lip and cheeks that look like you came in from the cold.

Pixi Multibalm Soft Strawberry

Pixi MultiBalm Soft Strawberry

Watermelon Veil may look bright in the tube and in my swatch but it’s not really. I love this cool pink and have worn it over and over. I always feel best in a pink blush and this is a lovely shade.

Pixi Multibalm Watermelon Veil

Pixi MultiBalm Watermelon Veil

Wild Rose isn’t one you’d pick from my pictures. I couldn’t get the true beauty of this mauve-rose shade to show. For me though it’s the most versatile of all 5. I can wear this with anything I want. I love to lightly dab it on my lips while blending it on my cheeks. I doubt I’d have picked it out in a store but I’m beyond thrilled with it and you will be too.

A plethora of picks from Pixi Beauty!

A plethora of picks from Pixi Beauty! No question, one of my most favorite drug store cosmetics lines is Pixi Beauty. The packaging is awesome, the color products are great, and the price is right!  Today I have four Pixi picks that go from eyes to cheeks to lips to face.                                                                                              samples

Pixi Beauty Lash Line Ink in Black Silk and Tinted Brilliance Balm in Baby Bare

Pixi Beauty Lash Line Ink in Black Silk and Tinted Brilliance Balm in Baby Bare

Let’s start with the eyes. I am really digging ink liners these days. I recently went on a trip to Spain and I took two eyeliners – a pencil liner and my Pixi Beauty Lash Line Ink in Black Silk ($14).  I love how this deep black liner is so easy to apply – the tip is longer than most ink liners which makes it easier to maneuver. The ink liner stays in place, even through my 13 hours in airports and on planes.  And creating a thin line or a thick line is a snap. Interestingly, this liquid liner is much more ‘wet’ than most I’ve tried, which are more of a stain. Initially, it looks shiny, almost like a black patent leather which is definitely unique. The patent leather effect lasts a few hours, after which it flattens and becomes a stain. Love this liner!

On to lips — Marcia has raved about the Pixi Beauty Tinted Brilliance Balm ($14) forever. Seriously, I think she’s written about ten posts featuring this lip crayon. Baby Bare is my first Tinted Brilliance Balm and I am as big a fan as Marcia is. It’s wonderfully moisturizing, easy to apply, and the peachy-nude shade is a universally flattering color. If for some insane reason it’s not your cuppa tea, no worries because Pixi has 10 more shades available. The slip is just perfect and I love this lippie…I think it’s tied with the Pixi Shea Butter Lip Balms for my favorite Pixi lip products.

Beauty Blush Duo + Kabuki in Peach Honey

Pixi Beauty gets cheeky with the Beauty Blush Duo + Kabuki ($18). How cute is this?? My shade is Peach Honey, and it also comes in Rose Gold. Peach Honey has a peachy nude sheen and a gold beige highlight. It’s more of a highlighter than a blush unless you are super fair. The powder is silky and soft and blends well. It gives a great glow and it’s also a pretty eyeshadow in a pinch.

The kabuki is a tad soft for my taste – I like a kabuki that is firm, but this one is a nice size and works well as a brush to carry in your purse.

Pixi Beauty Makeup Fixing Mist

Pixi Beauty Makeup Fixing Mist

Pixi’s answer to keeping your look from melting in the summer heat is the Makeup Fixing Mist ($15). It’s rose water with green tea that is sprayed on to help keep makeup in place. I have to say, this isn’t for me. The spray is very wet – too wet for my somewhat oily skin. It’s also pretty fragranced.  If you have super dry skin and fragrance isn’t an issue, you might like this – but I think there are better fixing mists out there. The Makeup Fixing Mist seems more like a refreshing moisturizing spray than a setting spray.

Pixi Beauty is available online at Pixibeauty.com as well as at Target stores. With such a plethora of pretty picks from Pixi, be sure you check them out next time you are shopping!  – Lisa

Color Correctors – splurge or steal?

Color Correctors - splurge or steal?

Color Correctors – splurge or steal?

Lately it seems that all we hear about are makeup trends. We spent months obsessing over contouring, we moved on to strobing, we’re stuck on highlighters and illuminators, and now we’ve got color correctors coming at us like gang busters. Color Correcting isn’t new but it’s having its day right now.

I remember years and years ago that Physician’s Formula had little tubes of color correctors that were very inexpensive. It made the brand more noticeable because no one else had anything like it. I remember finally caving when it was on sale for about $2 – and being disappointed. I wasn’t as experienced with cosmetics and I didn’t understand enough about blending.

Move forward to 2016 and Sephora has been tempting me with Color Correctors as have other brands. Here are some I’ve bought at different price points.

WET n WILD COVERALL CORRECTING PALETTE ($3.99) A steal!

Wet n Wild Coverall Correcting Palette

Wet n Wild Coverall Correcting Palette

I picked this up at Walgreen mainly because I knew that Makeup Wars was writing about this subject plus I wanted to see how an inexpensive color corrector would compare to the more expensive ones. This is the one to purchase if you are curious and don’t want to splurge. But it’s not the best out there unless you want the purple (to counter dullness) and green (to correct red).

Wet n Wild Coverall Correcting Palette

Wet n Wild Coverall Correcting Palette

The yellow is called Cover but it doesn’t cover anything on me; it’s meant to cancel out bruises or undereye circles. The white is their Highlighter but it’s pretty weak. Purple is what they call Normalize while they name the green Neutralize. The texture is very thick so you need to apply it with a light hand and blend it well.

PIXI CORRECTION CONCENTRATE, BRIGHTENING PEACH ($12) Save!

This was one of my first correctors and I fell in love with it. The matte peach is very brightening and is great under my eyes to help with my dark circles. It has great ingredients:

  • Rose Hip Extract has great cell regenerating and skin elasticity boosting properties
  • Vitamin A provides an anti-aging effect
  • Vitamin C brightens and revitalizes
  • Vitamin E nourishes and protects

The price is right and other than the small opening on the pot it’s excellent.

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector and Pixi Correction Concentrate in Brightening Peach

BECCA UNDER EYE BRIGHTENING CORRECTOR ($30) Splurge

If you follow me on Beauty Info Zone you know this is a favorite. This is a light and bright pink with a soft creamy finish. While it’s technically not a concealer, I don’t need one when I use this. I like the bigger opening on the jar and I like the consistency of the corrector. Some days it’s a little too bright for me if my dark circles are rearing their ugliest head.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correctors in Peach & Pink, Sephora Bright Future Color Corrector in Green

Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correctors in Peach & Pink, Sephora Bright Future Color Corrector in Green

SEPHORA COLLECTION BRIGHT FUTURE COLOR CORRECTOR in GREEN ($14) Save

While the Sephora brand Bright Future Color Correctors come in 5 shades, they are always sold out. Right now the green and yellow are available online but once the pink and peach come in, they sell out instantly. That’s because the price is half that of the similar Urban Decay Color Correctors. The main difference that I see between the two brands is the applicator. Sephora Collection’s isn’t quite as nice and less comes out so you work a little harder. It’s definitely green and it applies dark at first but using a sponge I can blend it down easily. I use it by my nostrils and just under where I have the most redness and spot treat other areas. They key is to blend but not RUB away.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correctors in Peach & Pink, Sephora Bright Future Color Corrector in Green

Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correctors in Peach & Pink, Sephora Bright Future Color Corrector in Green

URBAN DECAY NAKED SKIN COLOR CORRECTING FLUID in PEACH & PINK ($28) Splurge

I first bought this in Peach and liked it so much I went back for the Pink. The consistency of these is great for correcting, they’re soft and blend extremely well without a lot of work. They are what’s getting the most use in my correcting routine these days. The Peach looks very orange at first but it blends down enough to cover dark circles without showing as orange. Pink is meant to brighten dark areas. I sort of say “eeny meeny” to decide which to use each day. A sponge is the tool I prefer with these. I first warm them with my finger then use my sponge to softly blend these.

MAKE UP FOR EVER 5 CAMOUFLAGE CREAM PALETTE ($40) Splurge

Make Up For Ever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette

Make Up For Ever 5 Camouflage Cream Palette

I bought this palette when I was freelancing, as you can see it’s unused and I didn’t swatch it. It is really more of a concealing palette but the colors are mostly too dark for me. This is #1 the lightest one (for light to medium skin tones with redness concerns) and there are 5 total. I probably should have bought #5 (pro palette featuring color correcting shades for most skin tones and highlighter/concealer) since it’s more for correcting than concealing.

FACE STOCKHOLM CORRECTOR QUAD ($32) Splurge

Face Stockholm Corrector Quad

Face Stockholm Corrector Quad in Ljus

The Face Stockholm Corrector Quad came in a Wantable subscription and was one of the highlights of my years long subscription. Ljus is the lightest of the 3 Corrector Quads available. Mine has been used too much to photograph but I really did like having this all in one quad. While I didn’t get much use out of the yellow I did from the other 3 shades.

As you can see, I’m fascinated with these type of products and totally obsessed with them lately. While this craze has cost me a lot lately, I’m enjoying using all of these (well not the MUFE which I haven’t broken into yet). It’s hard to recommend just one but to save money you might want to look at the Sephora Collection colors or a quad like Face Stockholm’s.

What do you like for color corrector? I’m always up for more.  — Marcia

Favorite spring beauty from Pixi Beauty and Pur Cosmetics

Spring Beauty Treats with Pixi Beauty and Pur Cosmetics

Spring Beauty Treats with Pixi Beauty and Pur Cosmetics

Today is a Top Ten Tuesday post. With a topic as wide as Spring Beauty it could be a top 50 without a problem. To narrow it down I’ve picked some Pixi Beauty and Pur Cosmetics items that I’m already enjoying and will continue to do so throughout spring (and surely summer).

send for editorial consideration

Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes in Amethyst Aura and Aquamarine Dream; Book of Beauty in Minimal Makeup

Pixi Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes in Amethyst Aura and Aquamarine Dream; Book of Beauty in Minimal Makeup

Here are the eye palettes that are going to make your spring – Pixi by Petra goes from subtle to bold without skipping a beat. There are 9 Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes ($12) that will make any of your color dreams come true. Amethyst Aura has every shade of purple you’ll need ranging from a light pinky lavender to a very dark purple. The shadows are all satiny shades that all purple lovers will be delighted with. Aquamarine Dream is a brighter palette that calls for sun and water. These aren’t pastels, instead they are bright shades that in the aqua and blue family. Think of the depths of the Caribbean and all those shades are within Aquamarine Dream.

But not everyone is into brights or, as in my case, likes to switch around. Their new Book of Beauty in Minimal Makeup ($24) is incredible. This has everything you need for soft spring beauty. There’s nothing to be afraid of here. This is what I’d grab for a spring break trip. It contains 8 luscious soft coordinated shades: 2 double pans of eyeshadow, peachy pink blush, light bronzer/blush, and 2 lightly sparkly highlighters. The eyeshadows are peach and brown, pink and bronze.

Pixi Book of Beauty in Minimum Makeup

This is truly a find for me since lately I’ve been craving softer colors. The peach and bronze eyeshadows are just what I love and the four blush and highlighter shades are great day or night.

Pixi also has other great eye products. They recently came out with the full size Endless Silky Eye Pen in Slate Gray. Before it was only available in a small set. This dark gray is a much softer alternative to black. Pixi Silky Eye Pens ($12) are the best eyeliner pencils and I always recommend them. To brighten my eyes I like to use Pixi’s Eye Bright Liner in Nude ($14). This is for your inner eyelid to give you that wide awake look.

Pixi Nourishing Lip Polish, Slate Gray eyeliner, Eye Bright Liner, Tinted Brilliance Balm

Besides eyes Pixi has some of my favorite lip products. Brand new is Nourishing Lip Polish ($12) that I’m crazy about. This is a lip scrub that also plumps but without any irritation at all. It tastes sugary and my lips are hydrated from this all day. The applicator has small bristles that massage your lips to help with circulation. “Luxe, nutrient-rich formula smoothes lips with shea butter & a blend of sweet almond, apricot, and evening primrose oils.” It’s great for rejuvenating lips and healing them too. Totally crazy about this Nourishing Lip Polish!! I’ve been a fan of Pixi’s Tinted Brilliance Balm since I got my first one in a beauty subscription. Lucent Glow is one of my favorites and I’m on my second one. While there are 11 shades I like that I can use Lucent Glow over any lipstick to add a luminous rose gold shimmer. It changes a winter lipstick into a softer spring one.

Pixi Beauty has gotten into skincare in a big way this year and one of their newest products, Hydrating Milky Mist ($15), is so unusual and will be great for warm weather. It’s a spray on mist moisturizer that is perfect for dry skin. It contains Hyaluronic Acid (my hero ingredient) and Black Oat for deep moisture and a youthful preserve. I can definitely use both. You can keep this in your purse or desk to add a mist of moisture during the day.

“This featherlight mist provides an instant surge of hydration with hyaluronic acid to plump skin. A blend of black oat, provitamin A, and linoleic acid makes this rejuvenator the perfect first layer of moisture before serums or makeup.”

Pur Cosmetics has some great items for spring and I happily received two to test out. I’ve just had them for one use but I’m excited about them both and can’t wait for longer term use. Hydra Fluid ($39) is their newest foundation and it’s a water serum one. The texture is different than what you are probably used to using so you’ll be surprised at first. The coverage is wonderful while being very lightweight. I shook it up and put only 3 drops on the back of my hand and that turned out to be enough for my entire face. I buffed it in using a circular motion with my foundation brush and plan on trying my beauty sponge next. I’ll be doing a full review on Hydra Serum once I have more time to use it.

Pur’s Fully Charged Mascara ($22) is one I’m very excited about. If my first day of use is an example of how this performs, all the other mascaras that are open are going on a vacation now. More to come on this mascara too.

“This anti-aging mascara formula contains a revolutionary positively charged matrix that attracts to each individual lash to strengthen, thicken, lengthen and separate for unparalleled performance.”

Favorite setting products – powders and sprays

Do you have products that help you finish your makeup each day? That’s what Top Ten Tuesday is about this week. There are some great products available for this job and I’ve picked the favorites that I’ve used. When I’m done I hope you’ll share some of yours with me.

I have to start with IT COSMETICS since I talk about the brand all the time. The product that I’ve used up twice is IT COSMETICS BYE BYE PORES aka Bye Bye Pores Silk HD Anti-Aging Micro-Powder. Once I discovered this powder I stopped using the drawer full I had from Laura Mercier, Kevyn Aucoin, and more. I still use those occasionally but they aren’t in my top ten! Silky soft and it does blur my pores just like it says it will.

Bye Bye Pores powder and puff

Once they came out with Bye Bye Pores Airbrush Silk Pressed Anti-Aging Finishing Powder I had to buy that too.  This pressed powder is great for travel and on the go.

IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder

Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish Powder is fabulous. I love this powder and am currently on my second one. Powder takes forever and a day for me to finish so the fact that I’ve gone through one and a half jars of this speaks for itself. Diamond Finish sets my makeup, blurs my pores, and gives me a beautiful finish that isn’t matte.

Purely Cosmetics Diamond Perfect Finish Powder

One more loose powder in this group: Pixi Beauty Quik Fix Powder in Translucid wins for the best packaging as well as being a great powder. This is very lightweight and invisible on my skin. It contains great ingredients like aloe vera and cucumber extract to smooth along with grape extract which acts as an antioxidant.

Pixi Quick Fix Powder in Translucid

Mally Evercolor Poreless Face Defender is really a cheat since it’s not a powder or a spray but it’s a staple in my cosmetic wardrobe. It has a very unusual texture and gives a matte finish. It’s wonderful for blurring fine lines and pores. There’s no dryness like powder can give.

Mally Beauty Poreless Face Defender

Mally Beauty Poreless Face Defender

Now on to the sprays. Skindinavia has two sprays that I have to recommend: Makeup Primer Spray and the Makeup Finishing Spray are both wonderful. Other brands like Urban Decay sell these but they are made by Skindinavia. The Primer Spray is just like it sounds. Spray this one after your skincare is on and it helps deliver a smoother finish for your foundation. The Finishing Spray is to be applied after all your makeup is on and it helps keep your makeup in place for the day. It’s especially great for being outdoors. They even make this in Oil Control and a Bridal version.

Skindinavia The Makeup Primer Spray

Skindinavia The Makeup Primer Spray

A much less expensive version is  Hard Candy Fast & Fabulous Makeup Setting Spray at Walmart. This is only $6.30 compared to the $30ish prices of Skindinavia. It’s not bride proof but it’s a good way to see if a spray is for you.

Hard Candy Fast & Fabulous Makeup Setting Spray

When I was in the midst of hot flashes I relied on Youngblood Minerals in the Mist. I was at IMATS and I looked like someone had dropped a bucket of water on me. I was shopping at Youngblood and they recommended it in Refresh for me and it saved the trip. I carried it around with me to refresh my skin. I’ve since used it up but if I ever go through that misery again, I’d repurchase.

A few other bloggers have joined this week’s challenge. I’m interested in learning more. Are you? — Marcia

First Kiss Flush with Pixi Beauty

First Kiss Flush with Pixi Cosmetics

First Kiss Flush with Pixi Beauty

I remember my first kiss…it was on the back porch on a hot summer’s evening. My boyfriend’s name was Darrin. I was 13 years old and I have no doubt my face was definitely flushed afterward! Pixi Beauty sent me some great items to test that bring me right back to that hot summer night and my ‘first kiss flush’.

Pixi Cosmetics Glowtion Day Dew

Pixi Beauty Glowtion Day Dew

Glowtion Day Dew ($22)  The first step to getting that wonderful flush is a great, glowy complexion and Glowtion Day Dew does the job. This is a lightweight moisturizing lotion that has illuminating shimmer. I love to put this on right before applying my foundation – it truly gives a ‘lit from within’ appearance and is not sparkly or too young-looking. Ingredients include lavender oil to calm skin and mica to brighten. I love this and know I will be using the entire tube!

Lip Contour Liner in Invisible Smudge Stopper

Lip Contour Liner in Invisible Smudge Stopper

Lip Contour Liner in Invisible Smudge Stopper (Translucent $12) The next must-have for a first kiss flush are beautiful lips and the Lip Contour Liner in Invisible actually helps keep brighter lipsticks from straying. This lipliner is clear and it makes sure lipstick doesn’t feather into fine lines or smudge onto teeth. I use this way more than I thought I would and in fact carry it in my purse to use right before touching up. It twists up and doesn’t need a sharpener either which is a plus.

MatteLustre Lipstick in Raspberry Blush

MatteLustre Lipstick in Raspberry Blush

MatteLustre Lipstick in Raspberry Blush ($12) is the perfect lippie for that just kissed look  The lipstick is full-coverage and lasts a while, especially when also used with the Lip Contour Liner in Invisible. It has lots of great ingredients like peptides, hyaluronic acid, and vitamins C and E to ensure beautifully kissable lips. In the tube, the Raspberry Blush shade looks daunting, but it goes on a gorgeous pinky red that is totally fun and wearable. Yet another lippie that has found a home in my purse!

If you had a great first kiss and want to relive that memory – or if you just want to look like you had a great one – I recommend picking up this combo from Pixi Beauty. You are going to love the beautiful flushed look.  – Lisa

Brow and lash love for 2015

Make-up, applying mascara

As I was doing my makeup for New Year’s Eve I realized that the biggest change in my cosmetic life for 2015 was that I absolutely can not go without doing my brows anymore. A combination of age and illness created eyebrows that just didn’t cut it anymore. I went for most of my life not touching my eyebrows with much more than a tweezers. They had a great natural shape and were filled in nicely. That’s not the case any more. That’s why I decided to share the 2015 eyebrow and eyelash products that have made a difference for me.

PIXI BROW POWDER PALETTE  –  Shades of Brows

Pixi Beauty Brow Palette

Pixi Beauty Brow Palette

This is my most used brow product for everyday. My hair isn’t necessarily the same shade from color to color so I appreciate having a choice of shades that I can use straight or mix. Right now I’m dipping twice into the darkest shade and once in the one lighter since my hair is very dark at the moment. I’ll get it colored soon and can reevaluate how I want to use the colors. One of the best buys at $12 I’ve found. *

PIXI ENDLESS BROW GEL PEN

Pixi Endless Brow Gel Pen in Medium

Pixi Endless Brow Gel Pen in Medium

The Endless Brow Gel Pen is another best for me from Pixi. This is not a universally loved product but I like it so much that I bought 3 the last time I ordered from Pixi. It’s not really a pen, it’s a pencil that is gel-like in texture. It’s a heavier look than the brow palette because the gel is thicker. I like wearing this when my brows really need attention.

SENNA COSMETICS BROW SHAPER

Senna Brow Duo in Brunette

Senna Brow Duo in Brunette

I love Senna Cosmetics but I hadn’t tried their eyebrow products before because I just didn’t care about my eyebrows. Now that I have this Brow Shaper with the plumping brow shade and pomade I really appreciate why Eugenia Weston, owner and cosmetic guru, is so well known for eyebrows. These powders really cling to my eyebrow hair and fill in naturally where I’ve lost some hair. Another reason to love Senna. *

IT COSMETICS HEAVENLY LUXE BUILD A BROW BRUSH

It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Build A Brow and It Cosmetics Tightlining 10-in-1 Dual Ended brush

It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Build A Brow and It Cosmetics Tightlining 10-in-1 Dual Ended brush

It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Eyebrow brush

It Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Eyebrow brush

OMG, this is the best brush ever for eyebrows. It was created for IT’s Build a Brow Creme Gel Stain and it’s great with that but it also shines with every gel or cream brow product I’ve tried. The bristles are staggered so they really get into your brows to deposit color. This is totally unique and totally worth every penny of the $24 price.

BENEFIT ROLLER LASH MASCARA

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

Officially named Roller Lash Super Curling and Lifting Mascara, this is one of my favorites of the year. I find Benefit Cosmetics to be hit or miss but after reading the raves for this I caved and I’m glad I did. The curved wand really does help curl your lashes although I always use an eyelash curler. The combo of the eyelash curler and Roller Lash gives me eyelashes that stay curled for a good 12 hours. This was good for me for a solid three months staying easy to wear and easy to remove.

CATRICE LASH MULTIMIZER VOLUME MASCARA

Catrice Ultimate Lash Multimizer Volume Mascara

Catrice Ultimate Lash Multimizer Volume Mascara

Catrice Ultimate Lash Multimizer Volume Mascara wand

Catrice Ultimate Lash Multimizer Volume Mascara wand

At $7.99 this is 1/3 the price of the Benefit mascara and almost as good. The Multimizer is a volume and definition mascara. While it doesn’t help add curl, it holds it well. The older this gets, the better it gets. Which means a new one is in my future.

BARE MINERALS LASH DOMINATION VOLUMIZING MASCARA

Bare Minerals Lash Domination

Bare Minerals Lash Domination

BareMinerals Lash Domination

BareMinerals Lash Domination

2016 was the year I realized I loved volume mascaras. Before that I always thought I was looking for length and definition but the mascaras I like best this year turned out to be volumizing. Who knew? Besides charming me with the polka dot packaging, Lash Domination * charmed me with the twisty turny brush and lashes that looked great. They call this a 10-in-1 mascara since it Volumizes, Lengthens, Thickens, Separates, Lifts, has All-day wear, is Mineral fortified, Resists clumps, Fights Flakes, and is Smudge-resistant. After reviewing * this, I bought another.

I didn’t need another eyelash curler but I wanted this Surratt Beauty one after reading all the raves. Everyone has different shaped eyes and the lash curlers that a lot of people rave about (Shu, ELF etc) pinch me. This Surratt Relevee has been a delight to use. It opens widely, does a great job fitting my eyes and creates a curl that really lasts. If I want to use the method of inching up my lashes I have to use a magnifying mirror so I can see my lashes better.

As usual with a list like this, I’m sure I left out other wonderful products that I discovered in 2015. Even if I did though I know I’m recommending the ones that really have stood out to me. Have you tried any of these? What would you say stood out the most for you this past year?  — Marcia
