Eyes, eyes, and more eyes from Pixi!

The more I use Pixi Beauty the more I love it and today I have nothing but EYE love from this fabulously affordable and super fun line! They sell my favorite mascara – the Lengthy Fiber Mascara ($16) – but that isn’t even what I’m writing about today.  Today is all about eye liner and eyeshadow.

Before I get into the eyeshadow palettes, I want to give a quick hello to these two pencil eyeliners – the Endless Silky Eye Pens ($12), one in MatteNude and the other in RoseGlow. They are sooo creamy and they really do glide on and the best part is that they just don’t budge. I can work out, sweat, cry, really cry, rub my eyes, it doesn’t matter – unless I am taking my eyeliner off with makeup remover, this eyeliner stays true! Plus, they are perfect for the waterline. This is holy grail stuff, my friends.

Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pens

Waterproof
• Gives the concentrated colour of a liquid liner in a silky, easy to apply pencil
• Stays looking flawless all day
• Hypoallergenic
• No mineral oils
• No preservatives
• No parabens
• Not tested on animals

MatteNude is perfect for the waterline. It’s a peachy shade that finishes the waterline and really opens up the eye making it look doe-eye huge. One word of caution – if this liner gets too warm it can deposit too much product, so be careful. Otherwise, perfection.

Pixi Beauty Endless Silky Eye Pens swatches in RoseGlow and MatteNude

RoseGlow is just gorgeous – a shimmery golden bronze that is so flattering, especially if you have hazel eyes. Application is truly delightful with lots of play time before it sets and I adore this shade but if it’s not your cup of tea there are 21 shades available so I’m sure you can find something that suits you perfectly.

Pixi Beauty Mesmerizing Mineral Eyeshadow Palette

Ok, now for some eyeshadow palettes. There are nine different Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes ($12) available, and we have reviewed several of them. Each palette has six shades of eyeshadow and a dual-sided sponge applicator. The eyeshadows are mineral shadows that have great pigmentation and all the palettes feature gemstone-inspired shades. My palette is Desert SunsetI didn’t think I would like this nearly as much as I do – the red shade scared me, but it’s really pretty! And you would be surprised how versatile orange really is. The other shades include a medium matte brown, a deep brown with tiny golden shimmer, a dark golden shimmery brown, and a medium shimmery brown. They are all very pretty, rich shades with a great color pay off that make this palette a great buy, especially since it often goes on sale for half off!

On the larger palette side, the Eye Reflection Shadow Palette Mixed Metals ($24) is gorgeous! It’s a lovely combination of lighter and darker shades, some that give a creamy glow, some that give a three-dimensional metallic finish, and some with a matte finish. The twelve colors range from a light golden cream to a dark brown. I find all of the shades to be very interesting with a nice texture; beautifully blendable and heavily pigmented.

Overall, I think the Endless Silky Eye Pens are must haves – they are really perfect eyeliner pencils that apply so beautifully and easily and they come in an array of gorgeous shades. The Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes is a great buy if it’s on sale – the Desert Sunset collection is nice but it isn’t essential by any means; however, if it’s on sale for $6 it’s totally worth it. The  Eye Reflection Shadow Palette Mixed Metals is most definitely a great buy and if you are looking for some beautiful metallic shades to liven up your eyeshadow wardrobe without breaking the bank, this is a truly fantastic option! You can find Pixi by Petra at Target stores nationwide.  – Lisa

Pantone Color of the Year for 2018 with Pixi Beauty and Caption Nail Polish Giveaway

Every year Pantone chooses a color of the year and for 2018 it’s the shade Ultra Violet. Over the next few months you’ll find dozens of variations and interpretations of Ultra Violet in beauty, fashion, and home accessories. Since I’ve started following this trend I’ve liked several but this is the first I can say I love. Purple is the color associated with regality and it’s a shade that invites invention. Some of the greats (Prince and David Bowie come to mind) are associated with the color purple and they are among the people who are artistic inventors.

Pixi Beauty and Caption Nail Polish have sent some products that are wonderful examples of the magic of violet and one Beauty Info Zone subscriber will win these.

Caption Nail Polish in Enough Already, Pixi Beauty Velvet Violet Silky Eye Pen, Pixi Beauty Amethyst Aura Mesmerizing Mineral Palette

It’s no surprise that Pixi by Petra is one of our favorite brands. Being able to buy their products at Target makes it another reason to love Target so much. If you can’t find what you are looking for at Target their website is so easy to shop on plus they have a VIP reward program to help you receive extras and discounts.

Pixi’s Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes are beautifully pigmented six shade palettes that have coordinating colors so everything you need is in the one handy palette. Most of the palettes are just $12 with Amethyst Aura on special for $6 right now. You can’t beat that.

Pixi Beauty Velvet Violet Silky Eye Pen and Amethyst Aura Mesmerizing Mineral Palette

These 6 coordinating shades are cruelty free. The shadows are either matte or satin finish.

To coordinate even further there’s Endless Silky Eye Pen in Velvet Violet. Pixi’s eyeliner pencils are the ones I recommend all the time. Not only do they have a terrific variety of shades but they glide on. I never have tugging with a Pixi pencil but the best thing is that they don’t sharpen away so that I’m left with nothing like many pencils do. Normally $12, right now Pixi has some (including Velvet Violet) on sale for $6. Time to stock up!

I haven’t had a chance yet to share CAPTION nail polishes with you but I’m totally in love with them. There are an incredible amount of shades that I’m drooling over. I’m currently wearing one that’s a silvery lavender, Way Above Average, that is stunning. In the nail salon and out & about I’ve had so many compliments on it. I think my nail tech is going to steal it from me if I bring it back!

Caption Way Above Average

Enough Already is a perfect cream polish for Ultra Violet. While I haven’t worn it I know the quality of these polishes and how long lasting they are for me.

Want to up your beauty for the holiday occasions coming up? With holiday parties and celebrations there are more reasons to beautify yourself. Pixi Beauty is a go to brand for me, especially for party time. Not only is it affordable but it’s on point with their products. Petra knows what is going to help create the best looks. Two of those are the Strobe & Bronze palette and the Strobe & Sculpt palette. These two palettes were done in collaboration with Maryam Maquillage and they are fabulous.

Here’s a recap of the Pixi Strobe & Bronze palette that I shared before.

Pixi Strobe & Bronze (Strobe & Chisel)

I use this palette often even though bronzing isn’t a big part of my life. But I’m able to use the bronzing shades lightly. It’s the left side of the palette though that makes me enjoy it so much.

Pixi Strobe & Bronze (Strobe & Chisel)

Highline is a pinkish glow that I use as blush or over blush.

Empress may look purple in my picture but actually just has a lavender undertone that works so well with cool toned makeup.

Lex is a gorgeous gold that isn’t harsh at all. Just soft and lovely.

Apply highlighters to tops of cheekbones, bridge of nose, and cupid’s bow to light up features

City Kitty is the lightest of the bronze shades and on the warm side while Statuesque is the darkest. And 917 is a cool toned bronzer that’s midtone.

Pixi Beauty Strobe & Chisel (bronze) palette from target.com

The three highlight and 3 bronze shades work together so well as you can top the bronze shades with the highlighters. “Bring a soft natural glow and sheer sunkissed warmth to the skin with this palette that helps add subtle dimension to your features created by Maryam of MaryamMaquillage. The highlighters give a soft glowing luminosity while the bronze shades help create natural definition.”

(available at Pixibeauty.com and Target, $20)

PIXI BEAUTY STROBE & SCULPT KIT is just as beautiful but a little darker. I don’t have swatches for it since I just have one for this giveaway so hopefully my descriptions work. The Kit comes with this great Strobe & Sculpt Brush although you can buy the brush separately too.

Pixi Strobe & Sculpt Brush

The Strobe & Sculpt Brush is made of vegan synthetic fibers and is so incredibly soft. It comes with a storage pouch too ($14 separately).

Pixi Beauty Strobe & Sculpt Brush

The Strobe & Sculpt palette to me is very similar to the Strobe & Chisel/Bronze one above so it just depends on which shades appeal to you more.

Pixi Beauty Strobe & Sculpt, highlight and contour palette

On the left side of Strobe & Scuplt (Strobe & Contour) are the 3 highlight shades:

Baby Chick is a matte cream shade that Maryam recommends you use in the center of the face to lock in foundation and brighten.

Caviar Dreams is a beautiful pinky peach blush/highlight.

Honey-Bunny is another stunner with it’s peachy gold beauty.

On the right are the three bronze/sculpt shades:

Minx is a shimmery bronzer that Maryam recommends you add to the outer contour of your face to add warmth and a bronzed glow.

Bo$$ Lady and Queen are darker shades of matte bronzers with Bo$$ Lady being the cooler of the two.

Pixi Beauty palettes you’ll love and a palette giveaway

Once upon a time Target decided to upgrade their cosmetic department and added 3 new brands. I remember how people were skeptical that higher priced items could be successful in Target which was known for lines like L’Oreal, CoverGirl, Maybelline, etc. Those three lines were Jemma Kidd, Napoleon, and Pixi Beauty. Guess which one stuck and is one of the most popular and loved brands at Target? Yup, you guessed it, our favorite Pixi Beauty.

Pixi bridges the gap between department store and drugstore with products that have the quality of high end yet the prices of mass market.

Favorites of mine from Pixi include these two palettes from “It’s Judy Time” from a collaboration with a variety of beauty bloggers.

It’s Eye Time is my favorite but then again when do I ever not love eyeshadow, especially Pixi Beauty?? This beauty has 12 very silky eyeshadows with day and night shades.

Pixi Beauty It’s Eye Time palette

The shades in this palette are mostly neutral shaes with nothing too bright. One dozen eyeshadows will give you dozens of combinations for looks you’ll love. Pixi’s website has some swatches that will show you just how beautiful this is.

Snowflake – satin almost metallic creamy gold

Bubbly – beautiful satin metallic gold

Its Mommy Time  – subtle tan with peach undertones and the eeniest bit of shimmer

Good Morning  –  matte light brown

Brick –  a tan with power – this has some orange to it to make it liven up

Honey Bear – just what you expect your favorite stuffed animal brown to be (matte)

Tu Tu – matte milk chocolate

Getaway –  beautiful metallic copper

Ping – satin metallic bronze

Dark Chocolate – matte dark brown

Aww Snap  –  matte Hershey chocolate

Night Night –  blue black with teeny shimmer

To compliment It’s Eye Time there’s also It’s Lip Time, another fabulous palette with 12 shades but this time it’s lipstick.

A collection of lip crèmes in a range of wearable, super-flattering colours mixed by Judy. These pigmented lip colours are hydrating and easy to apply just with your finger. Wear solo, mix or layer for endless shade options.

Pixi Beauty It’s Lip Time

Ta-da  – the lightest shade, a neutral pink

Peaches  –  peachy nude

Julianna Bear  –  mauve nude

Milk Chocolate  –  guess!!

Keira Bear  –  similar to Peaches but it look a tad cooler

Miya Bear  – light brown with peach undertone

B did it  – beautiful mauve (I think this is going to be a favorite shade)

Falling Leaves  – reddish brown

Chewy  –  rosy brown

Fierce  – burgundy

Sweet Cherry  –  gorgeous cherry red

Sultry   – a vampy dark red

Both of these terrific palettes are available on Pixi’s website for $24 and It’s Eye Time is also available at Target. They are fabulous buys and palettes you’d love to own or gift. Speaking of gifting, we have a giveaway! One subscriber will win It’s Eye Time and the other It’s Lip Time. So decide if you are a lip or eye person. Each comes with a stick on mirror too.

Our giveaway is open to US and Canada subscribers. As usual you must leave a comment and I must be able to find your email subscription for you to be eligible. This is open through 11/9/17 @11:59 p.m. Be sure you come back for extra tweets each day!  –  Marcia

Bronzers for those who don’t wear bronzers

Makeup Wars chose a topic for this week that is totally out of my comfort zone so I was sure I was going to bow out. I don’t fake tan, I don’t use bronzing lotions, and I barely wear bronzing cosmetics. But I gave this more time to come together in my head and I realized that I do wear bronzers every once in a while and the ones I use are so great that I need you to know about them. So I’m here with bronzers for those of you who don’t wear bronzers – I want to change your mind just like I changed mine.

favorite bronzers: IT Cosmetics Confidence in Your Glow, Pixi Beauty Strobe & Bronze, Senna Brilliant Bronze

Right now Pixi Beauty Strobe & Bronze (aka Strobe & Chisel Palette) that was done in collaboration with Maryam Maquillage is what’s gracing my vanity table and therefore my face. I have to tell you how much I love this palette even though I didn’t think of it at first when I thought bronzers. Yes it’s in the name but I don’t use it in the typical bronzer way. I actually just use these 6 shades as highlighters and blush.

Pixi Strobe & Bronze (Strobe & Chisel)

Pixi Strobe & Bronze (Strobe & Chisel)

There are 3 glow shades: Highline, Empress and Lex (peach, pinky lavender, gold) that satisfy my crazy urges for highlighting. I lust after highlighters but I know I’m too old to get away with them. But this palette satisfies my craving because the glow shades add an iridescence without adding glitter. All three are great blush toppers or highlighting shades – and yes I’ve worn them on my eyes.

Pixi Strobe & Bronze (Strobe & Chisel)

The 3 bronze/chisel shades: City Kitty, Statuesque, 917) are bronze without being too brown. The only true bronze in my opinion is Statuesque. City Kitty is a warm matte light brown that looks very natural on my skin while 917 has more of a pink undertone (that’s what my camera was picking up); I’d describe it as a cool light satin brown.

Pixi Strobe & Bronze (Strobe & Chisel)

At $20 Pixi has created a bargain palette that will carry you through all seasons and will work no matter what level of bronzing you prefer.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Glow, Nude Glow and Heavenly Skin™ One-Sweep Wonder Brush #705

IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Glow comes in three shades: Nude Glow, Natural Glow, and Warm Glow. Lisa has reviewed these here and I was insanely jealous and insisted that she bring me the one best for my pale complexion. I have gotten so much use out of this that it’s unreal. If I’m not wearing my precious cream blushes then it’s all about Nude Glow.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Glow, Nude Glow

This triple threat has a little bit of highlighting, a beautiful blush, and a bronzing shade. I usually start with picking up the blush and applying it, then I’ll take the brush and sweep over all three shades to bring out the bronze and highlight. I make sure to use the brush from left to right to keep the lighter shades cleaner.

IT Cosmetics Confidence In Your Glow, Nude Glow

This is so silky soft that you’ll fall in love with it just for that reason. But remember it contains an anti-aging hydrolyzed collagen, peptides and Vitamin C infused formula. No shimmer in this at all. The brush is another amazing one from IT Cosmetics though you probably have a dual fiber brush you can use. If you want the brush as badly as I wanted it then go to QVC.com to purchase the set for $2 more than the compact alone.

Senna Brilliant Bronze in Dawn

Senna Cosmetics isn’t one that’s talked about much on beauty blogs but it’s a fabulous brand. Brilliant Bronze comes in two shades: Dawn and Sunset. This too is a duo of highlighter and bronzer. The difference between these Senna bronzers and my others is that the Senna is glittery. Dawn is gorgeous for cool toned complexions but I’ll only wear it for “fancy”. I don’t want to glitter in the day but give me a good party and I’m up for it.

Senna Dawn Brilliant Bronze

Senna’s Brilliant Bronze compacts are baked minerals that are said to condition skin with amino acids and nourishing plant proteins.

All three of the above are cruelty free products.

One last one that I couldn’t find for the main photo is a great drugstore find: Covergirl TruBlend Bronzer.

TruBlend Bronzer from Covergirl

TruBlend Bronzer has no shimmer but there’s a satiny finish that gives me some glow. What I love about this is that there’s no orange at all – just a beautiful golden bronze that I can lightly use to perk up my ghostly skin. This came out with the Katy Perry collection in a variety of shades but it seems like just the darkest one, Bronze, is still available.

What do you think of my bronzers for people who don’t use bronzers? Would any of these be suitable for you?  —  Marcia

Pixi does lips right with GelTint and SilkGloss

Pixi GelTint and SilkGloss

Do you love a simple stained lip? How about lovely gloss? Or a wonderful stain with a quick gloss over top?  Pxi Beauty has you covered on all fronts with their Pixi GelTint & SilkGloss ($12), a really terrific combo lippie that gives the best of all worlds in one package. There are three different combos available:  Hollywood Pink, Muted Clay, and Budding Orchid.

sample, affiliate links

Pixi GelTint and SilkGloss

One end has a lip stain that gives lips a matte stain that lasts for hours. It has a nice minty flavor and scent. The other end has a complimentary lip gloss that gives the stain depth, shine, and slip. Together they make a fabulous duo, although both the stain and the gloss can be worn alone so you are really getting three looks in one.

Long-lasting lip tint gives a beautiful stained effect
• Gloss keeps lips hydrated & nourished
• Adds a natural brilliance
• Use separately or layer
• Doesn’t dry lips out, hydrating
• Paraben free
• Not tested on animals

Hollywood Pink:  BerryTint and SweetGloss

Hollywood Pink:  BerryTint and SweetGloss

Hollywood Pink is a pink combo with a berry stain and a lighter pink gloss. This is a gorgeous combination that is actually perfect for transitioning into deeper fall colors. I probably reach for this one more often than the other three because it just seems to go with everything. It’s pink yet it has enough red tones to be very versatile.

Muted Clay:  BeachTint and FreshGloss

Muted Clay:  BeachTint and FreshGloss

Muted Clay is very fall season to me – what an interesting color combination! At first I thought no way is this going to work on me, but it’s actually quite flattering. I tried it on a few friends and was wowed every time too. BeachTint is an orange/brown tint that has some red tones, and FreshGloss is a lighter peachy/orange. It’s really beautiful – pick this one up for sweater weather!

Budding Orchid:  PinkTint and PrettyGloss

Somehow the computer ate my photo of Budding Orchid so I am using a stock photo until I can get another pic up. Budding Orchid is a gorgeous girlie combo of a bright pink lip tint and a clear gloss with little tiny shimmers. This is super feminine and super fun.

Left to right:  Muted Clay tint and gloss; Hollywood Pink tint and gloss; Budding Orchid tint and gloss.

Overall, I think Pixi GelTint & SilkGloss are wonderful lip stains and terrific lip glosses, and I love the versatility of having both together in one package. The price is great and the shades are beautiful.

You can find these lovelies at Target and PixiBeauty.com.  Pick up all three for some very happy lips!  – Lisa

Pixi Pixi Pixi, what summer wonders have you brought?

While the PIXI BEAUTY products I have to share today are wonderful in other seasons, they totally project summer. And we are far from done with this season. Pixi by Petra is always right on with their products and these are some extremely fun items.

Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel Stains

I admit I’m a fool for the 3 Sheer Cheek Gels that Pixi has created. I love cream blush but it’s not always convenient in hot or steamy weather. Instead using these Cheek Stains makes summer life a whole lot easier.

Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel Stains

There are 3 Cheek Gels available ($14) and I think you’re going to want them all.

Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel Stain in Natural

Natural is probably the easiest to wear, it’s a neutral that blends with ease making you look refreshed but not made up.

Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel Stain in Rosy

Rosy is a beautiful rosy stain. It’s my favorite, enough of a favorite that I even used one up completely. I apply this with my finger and at first it looks like it’s going to really stain both my finger and cheeks but it blends into a happy pink that looks like you’ve been out and about and feeling your best.

Flushed Pixi Sheer Cheek Gel Stain

Flushed is scary dark in the tube. It’s the one that I think most people will be surprised by since it looks sort of goth. But once applied and blended you’ll be surprised by the the ease of the plum stain.

Rosy Sheer Cheek Gel Stain

Things to know about these Sheer Cheek Gels: like all Pixi products they are cruelty free. These are also oil free, fragrance free and hypoallergenic. You can build these up if you want but I’d definitely start with just a little bit and blend before deciding how deep to go. They are travel friendly and need no tools. Plus you can use them as a stain on your lips. You are going to love them!

Pixi is available at Target stores and online as well as Pixi’s website. Thanks to Pixi for making sure summer is filled with summer beauty.  —  Marcia
