It’s pink. It’s small. It’s cushiony. And it’s from Osmosis +Colour. How could I not love it!

What’s your favorite color? Do you gravitate towards items in that color? I may wear black or denim most of the time but I adore the color pink. If my family wouldn’t get upset with pink walls, couches, and accessories I’d have a very pink home. Instead I have settled for gray and white and accented with pink goodies when I can find them.

But with my cosmetic life and personal areas I can and do use pink when possible. My latest acquisition is from Osmosis +Colour and it’s their Beauty Sponge. Pink Beauty Sponge!

Osmosis +Colour Beauty Sponge

I know you’ve seen other pink beauty sponges so this has to be unique if I’m going to talk you into using this for your next sponge buy.

Did you know that you really shouldn’t keep a beauty sponge for more than about 4 months? They can become moldy which you won’t see but could affect how your skin looks. It’s hard to toss something that looks like it’s in good shape but it’s something you should do. One of the nice properties about the Osmosis +Colour Beauty Sponge is that the price is great at $14.

Osmosis +Colour Beauty Sponge

The sponge has 3 finishes – the rounded full end for applying your facial makeup; the flat edge for contouring and highlighting; and the chiseled tip for precise concealing in smaller areas like under your eyes and the sides of your nose.

sample

What makes this a little different too is that most sponges tell you to dampen the sponge and wring it dry. But with the Osmosis +Colour Beauty Sponge you can also use it dry, especially for foundation. Of course you can wet the sponge as you normally would for a sheer and dewy look. I love this application method for a fresher and more summery look. It helps with the no makeup look.

Osmosis +Colour Beauty Sponge

You also can use this dry to help with a full coverage foundation and a matte look. Foundations these days come in many finishes so finding the right way to use your Beauty Sponge is a secret to the appearance of flawless skin.

Osmosis +Colour Beauty Sponge

The pointed tip can be used with concealer to hide those pesky dark circles and lines. The flat edge is fabulous for applying powder. Right now I’m using Prescriptives Magic Powder and I pour some into the top lid, use the sponge dry, and dab it on my cheeks. It helps apply the powder lightly and evenly. Osmosis’ Beauty Sponge is such a convenient multi-tasking tool.

Osmosis +Colour Beauty Sponge

There is so much to enjoy about using the Osmosis +Colour Beauty Sponge including the fact that it’s vegan, vegetarian, non-GMO, gluten free, paraben free, phthalate free, sls free and most important is that it’s cruelty free. How can such a cute pink cushiony sponge be so wonderful? Just try it and you’ll know why!  –  Marcia

Osmosis has masks that stimulate your senses while making your skin look its very best

Don’t let the plain white jar fool you into thinking that nothing special lies within. Once opened you happen upon a sensory experience that will make you sing.

OSMOSIS Tropical Mango Barrier Recovery Mask

What awaits you is the most scrumptious smelling mask from Osmosis, the Tropical Mango Barrier Recovery Mask. It’s the kind of mask that you don’t want to wash off since the smell is so intoxicating. While that’s not all this mask is, it sure starts your experience off on the right foot face.

samples, affiliates

OSMOSIS Tropical Mango Barrier Recovery Mask

As a person who doesn’t care for most fragranced products it’s the complete opposite for this mask. I don’t like the taste of mango but I sure do love the smell.

This mask is great for so many skin types and conditions like Psoriasis, Dryness and Dehydration, Free Radical Damage, Eczema, and Rosacea. It’s gently hydrating due to the jojoba oil, shea butter, and olive oil in its formula.

Key Ingredients:

  • Mango Seed Butter: hydrates, regenerates, sun protective properties and rich in antioxidants
  • Amazonian Fruit Butter: high content of essential fatty acids and Vitamin A, repairs damage, soothes and heals
  • Organic Bladderwrack Extract: rich in calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, sulfer, silicon, iron and high in some B-Complex vitamins, carotene and zeaxanthin, improves elasticity
  • Sea Buckthorn Oil: high fatty acid content, natural source of Vitamins A and E, carotenes and flavonoids

You can use this the way you always use a mask – slather it on, sit back and relax while it goes to work to make your skin look replenished. It’s creamy and is said to restore the skin’s lipid barrier.

OSMOSIS Tropical Mango Barrier Recovery Mask

You can also use this in a more spa type manner which is what Osmosis recommends: Apply a thin amount to skin, massaging for 2-3 minutes (if product becomes tacky before 2-3 minutes apply Clear x 1 pump to allow for massage). Apply a warm towel to skin and without applying pressure, allow it to remain on skin until lukewarm in temperature. Gently lift and remove the towel without wiping skin and massage mask for an additional 1 minute. Use towel to gently remove any excess.

If you use it like a regular mask it never quite hardens though after about 15 minutes it does make your face feel taut. I usually use it this way since I’m a creature of habit. I wash it off with a washcloth and find soft, more hydrated skin. The Osmosis way is a little quicker but takes more steps. Either way you’ll love that sensory experience that brings your skin some harmony.

OSMOSIS Tropical Mango Barrier Recovery Mask and Polish Enzyme Firming Mask

Now for a mask that is on the opposite end of the spectrum –  Osmosis Polish Enzyme Firming Mask. Polish will also give you a sensory experience though not to the same degree. Polish Enzyme Firming Mask has a delightful cranberry fragrance to it. But other than basking in the wonderful smell the feel of the mask is totally different than the Tropical Mango.

Osmosis Polish Enzyme Firming Mask

This is a thin mask that applies like syrup on your face. I have to be sure that my hair is totally away from my face since the mask has a sticky feel to it. It’s a cleansing mask for your pores and helps to redefine your complexion. Most exfoliating masks have a scrubby feeling to them but Polish differs in its approach. It has been designed to remove only the epidermal layer of the skin. It is meant to remove trapped dead skin to promote healthy skin coming to the surface through regrowth.

Osmosis Polish Enzyme Firming Mask

“The exfoliating formula utilizes lactic acid and cranberry to smooth your complexion and reduce the depth of fine lines and wrinkles. CoQ10 acts as a powerful antioxidant to negate free radical damage. Skin is left feeling supple and firm. Apply 2-3 pumps to a clean face 1-3 times per week. Leave on 5-15 minutes then rinse.”

Osmosis Polish Enzyme Firming Mask

I use this mask in place of a mask that is going to manually exfoliate my skin. This feels more like a treatment than a creamy or scrubby exfoliator. It helps to firm skin rather than hydrate it. Since it is sticky I always have to use a washcloth for removal. It leaves my skin more glowy than a hydrating mask. As a matter of fact what I like is to use Polish Enzyme Firming Mask one day and then the very next to use Tropical Mango Barrier Recovery Mask the next day – getting the best of both worlds to help protect my skin.

I can’t pick a favorite since the purpose of these is different but the end result is that you receive Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare’s technology and knowledge for your skin. Either one will give you an experience that will delight you as much as they do me.  —  Marcia

These masks can be found at Dermstore, Skin Trends, and Lovely Skin. Osmosis is a cruelty-free company with some products being vegan and gluten-free. It’s also

Mask of the Month: Osmosis Gel Mask

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask is one of the most refreshing products I’ve tried in a long time. It was what I turned to often during the stress of moving which made me love it even more than I already did. If you have dehydrated skin even in the heat this is a mask you need in your life.

sample

You can tell a lot about it just from the name

  1. hydralift  –  it gives your skin and mood a lift!
  2. firming  – the mask not only tightens and firms but it adds hydration
  3. gel mask  – the gel consistency is soothing and calming

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask

This Osmosis mask is the easiest product to use. You apply it for 5 to 15 minutes on a clean face and wash it off. That’s it. It can be done morning or night. Any time you want an extra dose of cooling or moisturizing this is perfectamundo. (from Urban Dictionary: 2)psuedo-street slang signifying that something is exceptional or that it is perfect. Popularised by the t.v. character Arthur Fonzirelli.)

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask

Just look at that gel! It’s so inviting. Just a thin layer is all it takes. You can use this daily if you want or treat yourself once or twice a week. It feels deliciously cooling once on. It contains Cucumber Extract which provides a cooling and healing effect if your skin is irritated. Then Aloe Vera helps speed up cell renewal and quickly penetrates for immediate hydration. With Hyaluronic Acid as an ingredient I knew that this was a mask that would fit into my life well. Don’t tell me you can resist that?

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask

I like using this before bed so that I wake up with softer skin. My friend Cindy from Prime Beauty told me she used this after a peel at a medispa and that it helped vanish the flakies after just one use.

While this is expensive at $52 it lasts for a long time since you need so little of it. A biggie for me is that this isn’t messy and I can spend that 15 minutes doing whatever I want since it’s not dripping down my face.

Osmosis Hydralift Firming Gel Mask was a no brainer for me for a mask of the month! Make it a mask of your month too.  —  Marcia

Mornings with Osmosis Refresh Eye Serum and Ecco Bella Natural Eyeshadow

We all have morning beauty routines and mine always includes using an eye cream or serum. I’ve preached to you so often about eye creams and that’s because I regret not starting them earlier in my life. Now though I am diligent about my eyes since I know how much they show age.

Osmosis has two eye products: Osmosis Refresh and Osmosis Refresh PM. I was sent Osmosis Refresh ($60) for morning use since I wasn’t using a specific eye product for day.

Osmosis Refresh eye serum

Osmosis Refresh eye serum

This lovely eye serum targets dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines. Happily it has no fragrance. When first pumped out it looks like a lightweight eye cream but when applied it becomes more like a looser serum. Refresh doesn’t take long before it’s absorbed making it ideal for a pre-makeup treatment.

The packaging is ideal as it is in a pump that products the ingredients from exposure. It works all day when absorbed to stimulate collagen and elastin production.

Right now at Dermstore Osmosis has a gwp of “Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare Relieve Travel Tube ($24 Value) with any $50 Osmosis Skincare purchase.”

Ingredients Aqua (Harmonized Water), Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Glycosaminoglycans, Niacinamide, Epilobium Angustifolium (Canadian Willowherb) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Glycerin, Dextran, Caprooyl-Tetrapeptide-3, Prunus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Phosphatidylcholine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium Carboxymethyl BetaGlucan, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Squalane, Butylene Glycol, Chrysanthellum Indicum Extract, Angelica Sinensis (Dong Quai) Root, Pelargonium Graveolens (Chinese Geranium) Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Oil, Santalum Album (Sandalwood) Oil, Commiphora Myrrha (Myrrh) Oil, Citrus Aurantifolia (Lime) Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Cetyl Hydroxyethylcellulose, Potassium Sorbate, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol.

Ecco Bella eyeshadows

Ecco Bella eyeshadows

Now that my undereye area is looking more vibrant and smooth I can move onto my favorite part of makeup – eyeshadow. ECCO BELLA Flowercolor eyeshadows are sold as refills so you can mix or match. There are 12 shades available ($14.95) and I was sent two to represent the line. I was anxious to try Smokey Mauve but was on the fence about Clay. Well it turns out that I have worn Clay over and over, more so than the pretty Smokey Mauve.

Osmosis Refresh Eye Serum, Ecco Bella Flowercolor eyeshadows in Smokey Mauve and Clay

Osmosis Refresh Eye Serum, Ecco Bella Flowercolor eyeshadows in Smokey Mauve and Clay

Both of these eyeshadows have an amazingly smooth finish that to me belies the fact that they are matte shadows. I don’t normally gravitate towards matte but these are the best I’ve tried. They not only apply easily and smoothly but they are never patchy. With an eyeshadow primer they last the entire day without fading. I love to wear Camel on the entire lid with a medium brown eyeshadow like their Earth shade in the crease. Sadly my computer crashed and I lost all of my pictures so I can’t show you how pretty these swatch. As you can see from the above photos they also sell a refillable eyeshadow palette ($9.95) that fit two of their shadows. They also come with a small metallic square though so you can keep them in a separate palette.

One of the reasons I was happy about trying out Ecco Bella is their philosophy. The line is cruelty free and doesn’t contain toxins or chemicals to dry and irritate skin, only a pure mineral enriched formula along with the best natural ingredients. The eyeshadows are formulated with Flower Wax which is what naturally protects the leaves of flowers from the elements.

Founded by social entrepreneur Sally Malanga, Ecco Bella has been a pioneer in natural and organic beauty products for over 23 years. Malanga began Ecco Bella, a name that means “Behold Beautiful!” to celebrate the beauty of her customers, because of her disgust with the use of animals for product testing, and with respect for the wonder of nature. To that end, Malanga realized there was a world of plant-based ingredients including powerful nutraceuticals from ethical suppliers that could transform the world’s approach to beauty.

Osmosis +Color Long Wear Liquid Foundation and Age Defying Treatment Concealer

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Foundation

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Foundation

Beauty Info Zone has been lucky enough to have tried several Osmosis +Colour cosmetics and each time we become more obsessed with the brand. The latest product that has been sent to us is their Long Wear Liquid Foundation. After wearing this for several weeks we have grown to admire Osmosis +Colour even more. There’s a big difference between Lisa and Marcia when it comes to skin tone. Lisa has a more golden skin tone plus she faux tans; Marcia is a pale person and she embraces that paleness. Lisa’s skin is on the oily sign with an active tee zone while Marcia has dry skin. That means you’ll get two views in our latest Side by Side.

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation in Natural Medium

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation in Natural Medium

LISA WEARS NATURAL MEDIUM

Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation is a great liquid foundation that comes in 8 shades on Osmosis’ site and 5 at Dermstore. This is a medium coverage foundation that is definitely buildable. It covers everything I want covered but it has a terrific finish and doesn’t look fake.

I tend toward shiny/oily in my t-zone, so I prefer matte foundations even though they can aging, especially around the eye area. The Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation is different because it’s almost matte, yet it’s still a little glowy so it doesn’t look dry. The effect is natural, which goes along with their tag line:  Be You. Be Beautiful.

Wearing Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation in Natural Medium

Wearing Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation in Natural Medium

Natural Medium is the shade for me – I am typically MAC NW25, although I have some faux tan so I am probably at about an NW30 right now. I am loving the foundation and I hope you try it for yourself!

MARCIA WEARS FAIR

While Lisa has done the main review of Osmosis Colour Long Wear Liquid Foundation I have to put my two cents in of course. And speaking of cents – this foundation has no scent. I love that it’s fragrance free. But that’s not all I love about it. Since I wear this in Fair, the lightest shade, I want it to be very fair but not ghostly pale. The foundation fits that bill. It gives me life while blending in with my neck and forehead.

The weather has been extremely hot and usually sunny and I’m finding that this really is a long wear foundation. It’s not slipping away and it’s not melting off. It’s a winner for me.

The main product I want to talk about though is Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer.  One of my very favorite blushes is the Osmosis Colour Pink Pearl blush. I find I can wear it with just about any eye/lip combo I choose. Well, being a klutz, I dropped it and most of it shattered. I really missed it so within a few days I ordered it from Dermstore. To my delight the concealer was a gift with purchase with any $25 Osmosis order.

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer

I don’t think I could have picked a better gwp. While the Age Defying Treatment Concealer comes in 4 shades (Fair, Silk, Light, Medium) the full size gift comes in Silk only. This is slightly darker and more yellow than the foundation but once it’s blended in, it still works well for me.

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer in Silk

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer in Silk

What’s unusual about this concealer is that it’s two-sided. One side is the concealer with a wand for application while the opposite side is a balm. I wasn’t quite sure what the balm would do but I’ve worked it into my routine some days now that I’m used to it. It’s a hydrating balm that plumps skin to ensure subsequent makeup doesn’t settle into any lines or wrinkles.

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer - balm side

Osmosis Colour Age Defying Treatment Concealer – balm side

The balm is the reason this is called a Treatment Concealer. “Formulated with a cocktail of antioxidants and argan, apricot and coconut oils, this twist-up stick softens signs of age while preventing new ones from forming.”

After the balm has settled into your skin then follow through with the liquid concealer. It does a great job on dark circles for me plus it’s not just an undereye concealer like so many others. It’s great for your face and for any blemishes you might have. The way I use the balm is mostly in the evening before going out. My eyes often look like it’s the end of the day so I sweep the balm under them and pat it on. Then I’ll use the concealer wand to dab just a little product and blend that in. My face looks refreshed and I’m ready to roll. Ingredients are Shea Butter, Beeswax, Coconut Oil, Vitamin E, Titanium Dioxide, Dimethicone, Antioxidants, Vitamin C.

Purchasing the wonderful Osmosis Long Wear Liquid Foundation will also bring you the Age Defying Treatment Concealer in Silk. You can’t get better than that. While we don’t know how long the GWP is in effect, we do recommend that you take advantage of the savings while you can.

Osmosis Melt Away Gelee – a relaxing end to a beautiful day

Osmosis Melt Away Gelee

Osmosis Melt Away Gelee

I’m happy to be introducing you to a fabulous product that I have been using for the last 2 months: Osmosis Melt Away Gelee. You’ve long heard about double cleansing but you’ve never seen a product quite like this.

pr sample

Osmosis Melt Away Gelee

Osmosis Melt Away Gelee brand new and crystal clear

Mostly I hear about oils for makeup removal prior to washing but Melt Away Gelee is a paraben free gel that is very soothing. I like to use my fingers to apply this to my face but others like using a cotton pad with it.

Some days I get super lazy and want the easiest way to remove my makeup and this is when I’m really thrilled I have this cleansing product. TMI but I sit on the toilet seat (closed) and pick up a small amount of this clear gel and rub my entire face with it. I massage it in to pick up all the vestiges of makeup. When I’m done I’ll use Micellar Water (either a cleansing sheet or on a cotton square) and remove the gel. My face is not only ultra cleansed but it’s softer than ever.

Osmosis Melt Away Gelee

Osmosis Melt Away Gelee

Melt Away Gelee doesn’t clog my pores and there’s nothing harsh about it. It just melts my foundation etc. away without any scrubbing.

Another way I use this is prior to cleansing with my sonic cleansing machine (Sonulase). I remove my facial makeup with the gelee, add cleanser to the Sonulase, and wash while exfoliating and treating my skin. It’s not an extra step at all.

Osmosis Melt Away Gelee

Osmosis Melt Away Gelee

This is said to remove waterproof makeup but I find it doesn’t remove my mascara well. To conquer that I take a q-tip and put some on the end and gently rub. It’s a little messy though since the black ends up on my face but it’s easily washed away.

I have nothing but praise for this gentle makeup remover. The ingredients are moisturizing (avocado oil, jojoba oil and aloe vera) and soothing. If you have any irritation on your face this would be an excellent choice too.

Ethylhexyl Palmitate, 2-Octyldodecanol / Dibutyl Lauroyl Glutamide / Dibutyl Ethylhexanoyl Glutamide, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Avocado (Persea Gratissima) Oil, Jojoba (Buxus Chinensis) Oil, Lycium Barbarium (Goji Berry Fruit) Extract, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract, Pheoxyethanol
Do you use any precleanser? If you do then consider Osmosis Melt Away Gelee, you won’t be sorry. — Marcia

Expand your mascara wardrobe with Osmosis Curling Mascara

Osmosis Curling MascaraYou know how you have a different wardrobe for each season – sweaters and boots for winter, shorts and sundresses for summer? I think it’s a great idea to also have a mascara wardrobe. Sometimes I want tons of drama, sometimes I want super length, and sometimes I just want some definition and a guarantee of no smudging whatsoever. Osmosis Curling Mascara ($25) is the mascara for those low-drama but hard-working days.                                                                                               PR Sample

What makes the Osmosis Curling Mascara an eyelash curler is the Cobra head wand. It is curved and it picks up every single lash, gently coaxing them upward. I use an eyelash curler anyway — my eyelashes are stick straight and they need all the curling help they can get. I do find that this mascara really sets that curl and helps lashes stay curled longer.

Osmosis Curling Mascara

The mascara is only available in black. I find that this is really a mascara for added definition and a bit of tint. It does not create big, thick lashes, but it gives enough volume and color to emphasize eyes in a natural way. The other huge benefit is the Osmosis Curling Mascara doesn’t smudge at all. In fact, I think this is probably the most tenacious mascara I have ever tried! It takes eye makeup remover and regular cleanser to fully remove it from lashes. If you are going to work out and you want something that brings out your eyes but isn’t overdone, this is the mascara for you.
