No!No! Pro3 – explanation and my first reaction

No!No! Pro3 Hair Removal System

No!No! Pro3 Hair Removal System

I’ve tested hundreds of items in the almost 4 years of Beauty Info Zone but none have had the reaction of No!No! Hair Removal. When I received the No!No! Hair Pro 3 to review from the company I mentioned it to a few people and all got so excited about it. It seems that everyone is interested in knowing if it really works. They’ve seen the infomercials and the HSN presentations and are fascinated. So when a friend who happens to be a beauty reviewer (aka me) has one, the reaction has been enthusiastic.

I’m going to write several articles about the No!No! Hair Pro 3 since it’s not a one time deal. It’s an ongoing process if you really want to see results with controlling unwanted hair.

I’ve discussed facial hair problems before. For my Makeup Wars Resolutions in both 2013 and 2014 I mentioned how I have to stop plucking those hairs. I’ve gone through two series of laser hair removal about 6 years apart as well as a few months of electrolysis. The first set of laser worked for a short time but after two years it was worse than ever. You have to wait at least 4 weeks between sessions so you see hair regrowth during those times and you can’t pluck it!. Electrolysis was just too painful and all the numbing cream and ice in the world didn’t help. The second round of laser did absolutely nothing which might be why it was inexpensive on Groupon. In total I’ve spent close to $1800 for basically nothing. The No!No! Hair Pro 3 costs $290 and it’s mine. No more outlay other than maybe new heads a few times in the future.

Today I’ll explain how to use it and explain my first few weeks with it.

The No!No! Hair Pro 3 has what’s called Pulsed Thermicon Technology. It is one of the newest versions of the No!No! and has 3 treatment levels. The company tells me that it’s faster and easier than previous models. There is another more advanced one called the Hair Pro 5 but it appears that the main difference is in the number of treatment levels.

One thing I’ve learned after all my previous experimentation is that there’s no true total hair removal device. Some may work better than others for an individual but in my case nothing has been permanent. What I like about the No! No! though is that I can use it when I want, where I want and don’t have to go anywhere to do it. I don’t have very much free time so when I decide at 1 a.m. that it’s time to use my No! No! there is no inconvenience. The No! No! Pro3 works on all hair colors, skin colors and types. I am considered a good candidate for laser because of my fair skin and dark hair yet it never worked for me.

There’s really no prep for it. I start with a clean and dry face and turn the No!No! on. My goal is to get a smooth movement going so that the pulsing light rids me of the unwanted hair. There’s a wire inside that heats up and crystalizes the hair at the same time it’s whisking it away. This is where the smell of burning hair will be noticed. The important thing to know is that it’s not awful – as a matter of fact it’s minimum. I have the most sensitive nose and this doesn’t bother me which is amazing.

The directions I follow:

1. Make sure your machine is fully charged the first time you use it. That takes approximately 5 hours. Once it’s charged the full battery icon flickers and you remove it from the charger. It holds a charge for quite a long time. I’ve charged mine two more times but I probably didn’t need to, just didn’t want to take a chance.

2. There are two tips and you want to pick the proper Thermicon Tip for the job. The wide tip is for larger areas on your body. The narrow tip is for small, sensitive areas like your face, underarms, bikini, and neck area. I first experimented with the wider tip on my arms but since that time I’ve only used the smaller tip since I’m concentrating on my face for now.

3. Inserting the tip is easy. The two No!No! logos should be facing the same direction and you slide it into the socket pushing it all the way down.

4. Be sure you do a test if you are using it on facial hair by trying it on a section of your face that’s not going to show. Always start at the lowest level; you can always increase it later once you are used to the No!No! It shouldn’t be painful but you will feel a small zap. I started with my sideburns to test it. You want to use the machine in the opposite direction of hair growth. With my sideburns I started at the base of my chin and glided it upwards to my ear. I went over that area about 3 times, waited to see if there was a reaction and then did it a few more times close to my ear.

5. I waited a few days and then tried it on my chin and jaw. This was a little more difficult because the area is small. My chin is the area that I most want facial hair removed so nothing was stopping me. I start on my neck and glide the machine up around the curve. I usually have to pull the skin tightly to make it flat enough for the No!No! to work.  So far I’ve needed to do this several times a week.

6. For the upper lip and mustache area I’m still having a difficult time because the skin area is so narrow there at only 3/4 of an inch. Instead of bringing it upwards (like I did at first) I’ve learned that I have to go sideways. I purse my lips inward and pull down to make the area as large as possible. You then take the machine outwards. Because this area is so sensitive and you don’t want your lips to be touched by the wire, you have to take it slowly and not go over the area too many times. That’s why it’s taking longer to show any results.

7. After you are finished there’s a Buffer that you can use to remove any coarse stubble like hair. The buffer is actually very soft even though it looks like it would be similar to an emery finish. You rub that in a circular or back/forth motion.

8. Last follow with a moisturizer. It comes with one called Smooth After Treatment Cream which has the ingredient Capislow in it to help with preventing regrowth. The fragrance of this treatment cream is too floral for me so I haven’t used it beyond the first time. Instead I use a rich moisturizer (Neova) to follow up. If you aren’t sensitive to the fragrance I think No!No! Smooth would be your best bet.

Now after this very long explanation you probably want to know my results and feelings. I’m impressed with the No!No! Pro3 but I’m not done with it. Like I said, this is an ongoing process. Even if it removes the hair and leaves me feeling more like a Chihuahua than a Sheepdog, it’s not done. I can turn into a Labrador Retriever if I let it go. I have had good results where I tested it on my arms with less growth than on my face. But I don’t examine my arms with a magnifying mirror. I’m not done but I’m noticing a little less growth and I have hopes that with several months of use that will become the norm.

If you are looking for hair reduction quickly then you need to shave. It will grow back and you’ll need to shave the next day and the next day but it will be gone each day. If you are looking for hair reduction that will get less and less as time goes on then the No!No! Hair Removal products are the direction you should be looking in.

I plan to continue using my No!No! and report back to let you know further results. I don’t have much hair on my legs but come spring I want try it on my legs and really remove the hair on my lower arms. I’m happy to being saying No!No! to hair in the privacy of my home. I just hope I won’t have to say it too often and that my hairiness will be less of a problem when I make my New Year’s Resolutions for 2015. — Marcia
