Mally makes life a lot more beautiful

Mally Beauty Soft Focus Lowlight & Highlight Trio and Pure Pigment Melting Lip Powders

It’s Mally time, time for you to get “gorgois” and today I have some beauties to show you. I promise you’ll want them.

First is the Soft Focus Highlight to Lowlight Trio, a trio of talc free powders that feature different levels of luminizing pearls. The palette is subtle and perfectly fits the name Soft Focus. While the 3 shades look very close in the palette once on they have their own personality. You can use them separately or blend them together. My choice is separate.

Mally Beauty Soft Focus Lowlight & Highlight Trio

First you’ll find Mocha Martini on the left. This is the darkest of the trio but dark it’s not. It has a sophisticated light glowy golden brown that is great to use under cheekbones, along the sides of your nose and at the hairline. The color is just dark enough to give you some definition but not so dark that it’s noticeable. This is what contouring should be for fair faced maidens.

Next is Rose’ All Day which makes for a great light pink blush or to be used down the center of your nose, the tops of your cheekbones and on your browbone. Yes these can all be used as soft eyeshadows. The texture is divine.

On the far right is Bring On The Bubbly which is recommended at the inner corner of the eye along with at your Cupid’s Bow or anywhere you want to softly glow.

Mally Beauty Soft Focus Lowlight & Highlight Trio

The beauty of this palette is the softness and how well the shades blend. They brighten your complexion, they blur imperfections, and there’s a seamlessness to them when applied. It’s different than the highlighters I’ve written about lately because of the light glow that is noticeable yet no one knows why you look so gorgois. It’s bringing a magical yet understated glow.

This is available on Mally Beauty’s site for $35 but I have two deals for you! The first is that for a limited time Mally has a 20% off sale going on. I don’t know when it ends so act quickly with the code MALLY at checkout. Here’s another deal that I think is fabulous. QVC has a 4 piece collection for $47.19 that includes this wonderful palette but also includes an Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra in Champagne, a light golden shimmer shade, More is More Mascara, and H3 Lip Gloss in Sweet Peach, a sheer light peach shade. This is a steal IMO. Every one of these products are must haves!

Mally Beauty Lights on You 4-Piece Collection on QVC

As much as I love this palette what is something worth hunting down are Mally’s PURE PIGMENT MELTING LIP POWDERS. These were available on QVC but I missed them and unless you are a Mally follower you might have too. But they are really unique to my lip collection and I’m glad to have them. These are available at Amazon though, you want to add one or more to your collection.

Mally Pure Pigment Melting Lip Powder in Tender Rose

I was sent a duo that contained Tender Rose and Soft Nude. There are two more available too in Mellow Mauve and Gentle Pink.

Mally Pure Pigment Melting Lip Powder in Soft Nude

These squat containers are just too cute. There’s a small lip gloss type wand that applies the pigment to your lips. You’ll love the cool sensation you first feel, they feel slightly wet and you have time to smooth on the pigment before it starts drying down. (I want a powder with this feeling!) You end up with a soft matte look that lasts really well during the day.

Mally Pure Pigment Melting Lip Powder in Tender Rose and Soft Nude

The best part though is that this isn’t drying at all. I’m not a big fan of liquid matte lipsticks but I am a fan of these Pigment Melting Lip Powders. I swear my lips don’t feel one bit dry when wearing these. I have the trendy matte look without the drying out of my lips. This isn’t a luscious look if that’s what you are looking for but it’s easy non-drying color.

Mally Pure Pigment Melting Lip Powders

Soft Nude looks sort of tan in my swatch but on my lips it’s a true nude, not too light, not too dark. Tender Rose is also lighter on my lips than my swatch which makes me quite pleased since I don’t like dark lips on me. It’s sort of a red popsicle stain to me.

With the pigment lips I have some advice. Your lips should be exfoliated and dry which is true for all matte lips. First shake the bottle before using to mix the pigment. When done be sure to close it tightly so it doesn’t dry out. Also if the color goes on unevenly just use a lip brush or even a q-tip to even them out. You can build the color too once it’s dry by adding another layer or two. But let them dry first before you do that.

Mally Pure Pigment Melting Lip Powder in Soft Nude and Tender Rose

These were inspired by Korean beauty and they are formulated with encapsulated pigments. The color transforms from powder to cream when it comes in contact with the natural oils of your skin. They are totally unique to my life and a creative longer lasting alternative.

All of these make a great spring/summer addition to your life and if Mally has any say over it, you know you’re going to look just gorgeous!  —  Marcia

Open up to pretty eyes with Mally Beauty with the Open Up! Eyeshadow Quad

Mally Beauty Open Up! Eyeshadow Quads

Looking for something new to open up those peepers, maybe some fresh new palettes for fall? Take a look at Mally’s Open Up! Eyeshadow Quad Set of 2 Eyeshadow Palettes, including Everyday Nudes and Everyday Deep Neutrals ($35, which also includes a dual-sided brush).

The Open Up! Eyeshadow Quad Set comes with the two palettes and a dual sided brush that I don’t have, but if you watch the video on QVC you can see the brush in action and it looks really nice. The two palettes feature neutral shades, one with day colors and the other with deeper evening shades. Both palettes have a combination of matte and shimmer shades, and the texture is soft and velvety thanks to the coconut butter-infused formula. I find that these eyeshadow apply easily, blend well, and last all day with a primer.

Mally Everyday Nudes Palette

The Everyday Nudes Palette has from top right going clockwise:  Sand, a shimmering creamy beige; Terra Cotta, a matte brownish orange; Earth, a shimmery deep golden brown; and Clay, a matte medium brown.

Mally Everyday Nudes Palette swatches, left to right:  Clay, Sand, Earth, Terra Cotta

Sand is a perfect base shade and I often wear just this plus some thick black eyeliner. I also love the Terra Cotta – it’s a great lid shade, as well as a beautiful crease shade for some depth without a lot of drama. Earth and Clay are nice, workhorse shades. This is a wonderful, versatile palette that is belongs in everyone’s collection.

The Everyday Deep Neutrals Palette

The Everyday Deep Neutrals Palette has from top right going clockwise: Cashew, a shimmery taupe; Brazil Nut, a matte medium brownish gray; Acorn, a shimmery bronze; and Almond, a shimmery medium brown.

The Everyday Deep Neutrals Palette, left to right:  Almond, Cashew, Acorn, Brazil Nut

The Everyday Deep Neutrals is more dramatic than the Everyday Nudes but it’s still demure enough for anytime, really. Cashew is a beautiful wash that might be too shimmery for some, but I love it. Brazil Nut leans a little purple on me, which I like. I use this as a crease shade then define it with Acorn and it is just gorgeous.

I think that Mally makes beautiful cosmetics that are infinitely wearable, especially for those of us who aren’t particularly graceful with our cosmetics. She is like the savior for those with bad eyes and pre-coffee hands. It is pretty impossible to overdo it with her palettes, and anyone from a novice to a pro can easily get amazing looks. Mally recommends starting with the eyeshadow in the top right corner then working your way around the palette going clockwise, with the top right shadow as your all over wash, bottom right on the lid, bottom left on the crease, and top left to line along the lashes. This is the way I use these palettes and it gives me great results every time.

You can find Mally’s Open Up! Eyeshadow Quad Set of 2 Eyeshadow Palettes as well as tons more Mally Beauty products at QVC.  Happy shopping!  – Lisa

Has Mally H3 Concealer met the mark when it comes to concealing?

Mally H3 Concealer

Mally H3 Concealer

The Beauty Info Zone team had fallen madly in love with Mally Beauty Dark Circle Corrector. We gushed about it and were thrilled to own it. Then when we went to purchase it again, it was gone!! Disappointment doesn’t even cover how we felt. But Mally Beauty is back to the rescue with their H3 CONCEALER so they’ve made it up to us. And to their customers. When we were sent this new concealer we were eager to see if it lived up to our old favorite.

Mally H3 Concealer is available in 5 shades (Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, and Rich). Available at Ulta and QVC (limited shades) it’s considered to be a hydrating and brightening concealer. Let’s see how this stacks up in our book.

MARCIA HAS H3 CONCEALER IN FAIR

Mally H3 Concealer in Fair

Mally H3 Concealer in Fair

Mally has redeemed herself. I was really missing the Dark Circle Corrector in Lighter and savoring what little I had left. When I received this new creamy concealer I wasn’t sure if it could the original off its pedestal but it stands right up there with it.

Mally H3 Concealer in Fair

Mally H3 Concealer in Fair

In the tube the concealer appears very light and a good match for my fair cool toned skin. If you are uber pale this might not be quite light enough for you but for most of the fair maidens in the land this will work.

Mally H3 Concealer in Fair

Mally H3 Concealer in Fair

When first applied it has a yellow cast but have no fear since it blends so seamlessly into skin that the yellow just tends to brighten your undereye area. I’m currently applying it with the wand, smoothing it in with a Beauty Junkees mini kabuki brush, and then melding it onto my skin with the warmth of my finger.

Mally H3 Concealer in Fair

Mally H3 Concealer in Fair

Besides my undereye area I often have to conceal around my nose and that area worries me since product can disappear into my pores there. I use just the lightest touch of H3 Concealer with my finger and it looks natural, removing the redness that can appear.

Overall I think that Mally saved the day. When looking up where to purchase this I found a great deal on QVC which I’ll be taking advantage of – Mally Correct, Conceal & Brighten 3 piece collection. The collection contains this H3 Concealer, Dark Circle Corrector, and Perfect Prep Neutralizing Primer. Now I can safely finish the remains of my Dark Circle Corrector and have a new one and a backup of this great concealer.

LISA HAS H3 CONCEALER IN MEDIUM

Mally H3 Concealer in Medium

Mally H3 Concealer in Medium

I think I actually cried when Marcia told me my favorite Dark Circle Corrector was no longer available!! I have extremely dark undereye circles and it takes industrial strength concealer to mask them…or something with a miracle inside, like the Dark Circle Corrector, which did so without looking heavy or cakey. So I was hoping for something similar but certainly doubted I would be finding the exact same rainbow inside this tube.

Mally H3 Concealer in Medium

Mally H3 Concealer in Medium

In the tube the concealer appears pretty yellow…I thought it would be too warm for my neutral skin. However, it’s actually quite forgiving and will work for most medium skin tones.

Mally H3 Concealer in Medium

Mally H3 Concealer in Medium

I dot this on from the bottom of my nose to the outside of each eye, then underneath my nose where I tend to have red capillaries. Then I use my beloved Artis Oval 6 Brush to smooth the concealer out and it blends in perfectly, making dark circles disappear and causing eye bags to go packing. As Marcia mentioned, the yellow tint works to brighten the undereye area which is always a plus.

Mally H3 Concealer in Medium

Mally H3 Concealer in Medium

If you were a huge fan of the Mally Dark Circle Corrector, you can come out of mourning…the H3 Concealer is definitely here to save the day and save you from dark circles!  We think the best place to find it right now is at QVC and the best deal is the Mally Correct, Conceal & Brighten 3 Piece Collection.  Happy Sunday and happy shopping!!

Mally Beauty brings “gorgois” to life

We believe that Mally Beauty needs no introduction. Mally Rontal is known not only for her personal beauty but also for her perky personality and wonderful line of cosmetics. We feel so lucky to have received some of her latest products and want to share these “gorgois” products with you.

MARCIA is loving H3 Gel Lipstick

Mally H3 Gel Lipstick in Flush and Nudish

Mally H3 Gel Lipstick in Flush and Nudish

Mally Beauty has created a brand new line of lipstick that are incredibly comfortable to wear. No dry lips will occur with H3 GEL LIPSTICK. Like the name suggests they have a gel like finish but apply and look like a full cover lipstick.

Available in 12 shades there’s going to be one for everyone’s taste. The pigment is rich and my lips feel so nourished in the two shades I have. Colors available are Grapevine, Rosy, Poppie, Nudish, Buff, Coraline, Angelic, Sheerly, Crush, Hibiscus, Flame and Flush. Let’s talk about the name H3 GEL LIPSTICK, okay? H3 stands for triple hydration since that’s what these lipsticks are all about. Gel means it’s not a wax based lipstick, instead it’s gel based. The gel helps these glide on your lips and helps to keep your lips feeling soft.

Mally H3 Gel Lipstick in Flush

Mally H3 Gel Lipstick in Flush

Flush is a beautiful bright pink hue that perks up my complexion and brightens my look. It’s a delight to open when you see the faceted bullet and a delight to apply. But I do have a warning, don’t roll up the tube too far since the lipstick itself can be delicate and break off in the tube.

Mally H3 Gel Lipstick in Flush

My second shade is Nudish which takes me beyond the typical nudes that I wear. In the tube it appeared darker and browner than my taste gears but this is an example of “don’t judge a book by its cover” since it’s so much lighter and flattering once on than I expected.

Mally H3 Gel Lipstick in Nudish

This nude is not ghostly in any way. It’s more of a mauve with nude undertones. Of course your mileage may vary since your skin chemistry could affect the color. For someone like me who loves a light lipstick, I’m totally comfortable with this subtle shade.

Mally H3 Gel Lipstick in Nudish

Not only are they gorgois but they hydrate so you can’t go wrong – just don’t twist the tube too high.Mally More is More Mascara and Eyeshadow

Mally Shadow Stick Extra in Burnished Bronze

Mally Shadow Stick Extra in Burnished Bronze

Marcia got some gorgois lips and I went for gorgois eyes. The Shadow Stick Extra Eyeshadow ($25) comes in ten different colors: Shimmering Mauve, Royal Plum, Pink Champagne, Burnished Bronze, Champagne, Autumn Shimmer, Chocolate Diamond, Marina, Storm, and Over The Taupe…shades ranging from the light creamy Champagne to deep blue Marina. This is a cream eyeshadow that applies super smooth and gives a good 45 seconds of smudging playtime before setting. I usually stay away from cream eyeshadows because they just don’t last on me but this stays on all day without creasing or fading. The rounded edge makes it perfect for a thick line along the lash line, which I then like to finish off with a thin black eyeliner. My shade is Burnished Bronze, a gorgeous shimmery medium brown. This is too dark for me to use as a wash but there are several lighter shades that I am dying to try that look perfect for that job. Mally More is More MascaraMally More is More Mascara wand

They say you can never be too rich or too skinny and I think you can never have thick enough eyelashes. More is More Mascara ($20) is right up my alley, because this awesome mascara grabs every single eyelash and makes them thicker, longer, and lusher…each coat delivering on the ‘more is more’ promise. Mally Shadow Stick Extra and More is More MascaraOne of my favorite mascaras is the Mally Volumizing Mascara and I have to say I think I might love More is More Mascara even…yup, you guessed it…more! It gives me ultra black lashes, and the brush really grips onto lashes for a very dramatic look. One coat is great for day, two coats really make for WOW lashes.
Mally Shadow Stick Extra and More is More Mascara

There are so many great items in Mally’s line that make for a ‘gorgois’ look, from lips to eyes. Be sure to check out these products and more at Ulta.com.

Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation wants to be in your makeup wardrobe

Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation

Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation

Mally Beauty has new foundation! I was sent the 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation in the lightest of the five available shades (Fair, Light, Medium, Tan and Rich) and it’s been gracing my face for the last few weeks. This is going to be worn continuously in the fall weather.

Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation in Fair

Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation in Fair

Foundation and concealer have been on my wishlist for the last few months. I want to try them all and wear them all so the timing of receiving this 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation was perfect. It’s amazingly lightweight which is not how I think of powder foundations so this breaks the mold.

Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation

Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation

This is a foundation that’s best used with a brush and Mally Beauty has a great buy of the foundation and brush for $38 on QVC.com. The foundation alone, which is only found on QVC, is $33 so I’d advise you to pay the $5 extra.

Mally 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation w/ Brush

Mally 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation w/ Brush

I’ve tried this with many different tools as you can see in the photo. The Beauty Blender sponge wasn’t good for me unless the sponge was bone dry. I found the love of my foundation life with the Artis Oval 10 brush and it loves this Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation. I  like a rounded brush like Mally sells in the set with it just as well.

Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation in Fair

Mally Beauty 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation in Fair, swatched heavily

To use I swirl my foundation brush onto the surface to pick up a small amount of color. Mally recommends apply it like this: “Starting near the back of the ear, begin buffing into the skin all around the perimeter of the face. Then, lightly dust across the forehead, nose, cheeks, and chin. This gives a halo effect that slims the face and leaves skin looking radiant and alive–never flat or dull.” By dusting it this way you aren’t accentuating pores but you will get good coverage.

Not only is this a powder foundation but it can be used as a finishing powder (I like a fluffy loose brush for this purpose) or as a great way to make your liquid foundation become revived at the end of the day. Being a compact it’s easy to carry around without spilling.

So you’re asking yourself “Why do I need a powder foundation?” And I’m telling you that Mally’s 4K Ultra HD Fantasy Foundation is designed to sort of melt into your skin. The powder itself is a blend of superfine powders coated with aloe leaf extract and coconut oil evens skin tone and provides a soft-focus effect. Why not have it all with Mally?  —  Marcia

Making waves with Modern Merbabe the Boxycharm July box

Boxycharm for July 2016

Boxycharm for July 2016

I’m sure you’ve heard of Boxycharm. It’s become my favorite subscription box and the July box shows me why this has made me so happy. Let me start by telling you that a subscription is $21 a month and you’ll receive only full size items. It can be 4 or 5 each month. This month the box has a value of $120. Not a bad investment at all.

Boxycharm for July 2016

Boxycharm for July 2016

As with all subscriptions you may not have bought the items to begin with so the value of $120 may be high but not worth it to you. For me this month’s Boxycharm is a winner and one I’m very excited about.

OFRA PROFESSIONAL MAGNETIC PALETTE AND 6 EYESHADOW PANS

OFRA Magnetic Palette and eyeshadows

OFRA Magnetic Palette and eyeshadows

How could I not be excited about this? I’ve been thinking of buying a new Z palette since mine are almost filled and I’d like to organize better. Not only do I not have to do that but I got 6 gorgeous shadows that would retail for $12 each on their own. These don’t have names imprinted on them and I can’t really tell from the OFRA website but there are 3 beautiful shimmer shadows and 3 mattes. All 6 are very workable shades with the shimmers and the light yellow shade (could be Banana Highlighter Powder) my favorites. They’ve valued this set at $59 but I think they undervalued it since the shadows alone would be $60.

OFRA eyeshadows

OFRA eyeshadows

MALLY BEAUTY is included this month too and I got lucky. Some boxes received an Ice Blue Mally Waterproof Eyeliner pencil ($18) while others got one of two Mally Rounded Blender Brushes ($15). I love brushes so having this green metallic brush is a little piece of heaven.

The brush has longer hairs than my other blending brushes so it’s a great change of pace for me. Into my brush cups this went instantly.

To add to the thrill of this box there’s a NOYAH LIP GLOSS in Malbec ($16), a wine berry shade. I remember when Noyah only had lip balms and I lovingly reviewed them. It’s great to see how far they’ve come. This is a natural lip gloss made without made without sulfates, parabens or phtalates. The packaging is adorable with an earth friendly bamboo top.

To top off the beauty in this sweet box is PYT HAIR Oil Treatment ($30). While I’ve only used it once I was amazed at the shine I suddenly had from the treatment. It’s made with Argan Oil which I already know is great for my skin or hair. It’s safe for color treated hair and it helps leave hair frizz free.

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Argania spinosa kernel oil, Fragrance (Lilial, D-Limonone, Hydroxycitronellal, Lyral, Geraniol, Citronellol, Coumarin), Triticum vulgare (Wheat) germ oil, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Panthenol.

I’m thrilled to learn about this new brand and use it in my routine.

Even though I don’t have a clue why this month’s Boxycharm is called Modern Merbaby (other than they do say “Let’s Make Waves”) I still think it’s one of the best I’ve received from my subscription. Now I can’t wait for another month to pass so I can get my next one. Are you a subscription box fan? — Marcia

Spring for beautiful eyes with Mally and tarte

Spring beauty with tarte rainforest of the sea and Mally Evercolor shadow stick extra

Spring beauty with tarte rainforest of the sea and Mally Evercolor shadow stick extra

In the beauty world there are several ways to change your looks for spring. We can lighten up our skincare and foundation, we can bring new springy shades of lipstick into our makeup wardrobe, and we can check out the newest eye products to create a softer yet brighter eye. For this week’s Makeup Wars, I’ve chosen eye makeup since that’s what I’ll always crave. Two brands are dominating my life right now – Mally Beauty and tarte. I’ve been totally enamored with the products I’m going to show you and finding it hard to move away from them.

Mally provided for consideration, tarte is a self purchase

Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra

Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra

Mally Beauty has created Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra and these are out of this world. Mally’s eyeliners have always been beauty lovers favorites and now they are better than ever. You can line with them, you can use them as an eyeshadow base shade, or you can use them as your eyeshadow. Whichever way you chose you won’t be disappointed.

Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra in Marina, Over the Taupe, and Storm

Mally Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra in Marina, Storm, and Over the Taupe

I have 3 of the 10 shades and am planning a trip to Ulta to check out several other of the shades. The 10 shades are Shimmering Mauve, Royal Plum, Pink Champagne, Burnished Bronze, Champagne, Autumn Shimmer, Chocolate Diamond, Marina, Storm, and Over The Taupe.

Mally (from left) Storm, Marina, Over The Taupe

These apply like a breeze. They dry fast but you have enough time to work with them before they are set for the entire day. My favorite way to use these is to start on my lid with a light touch and blend, then use the same shade in the crease and blend so there aren’t harsh lines. That gives me the ombre effect that I love.

Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra in Over the Taupe

Mally Beauty Evercolor Shadow Stick Extra in Over the Taupe

I don’t want to say I pick favorites but there’s something that’s just over the top about one of these. It makes a beautiful liner and smudges nicely under my eyes as well as being a great all around shade as a base or alone. Check out Ulta and Ulta.com for these beauties. I’ll be there for Champagne and Pink Champagne myself.

tarte Rainforest of the Sea eyeshadow palette

tarte Rainforest of the Sea eyeshadow palette

tarte hasn’t drawn me in for a long time. I have a lot of tarte products in my collection and I use them fairly often so most of their newer offerings didn’t grab my attention. But their limited edition Rainforest of the Sea had me at hello.

tarte Rainforest of the Sea eyeshadow palette

Every time I’d see this palette in a blog post or ad I’d drool over it. This has been a perfect spring palette for me because I’m feeling better in a softer eye now that winter is almost gone for good. The colors in this palette are all subdued and slightly heathery. Mermaid (gold), Seashell (pink), Wave (slate), Abyss (dark brown), Reef (copper), Starfish (bronze), Cove (tan), Sand (ivory). They don’t apply as dark as they appear in the palette.

It was hard to get good clean swatches since the shades are subtle so these are several passes over primer.tarte rainforest of the sea swatch 5Seashell, the top pink, is the shade that holds this palette together for me. I love it on my lid with Sand (ivory) on my browbone. Any of the other shades are what I chose to complement the pink.

The texture of tarte Rainforest of the Sea is one of the nicest ones that tarte has done. The shades are metallic or matte, no glitter seen here. They are very creamy to the touch and apply with minimal fallout. Rainforest of the Sea is a Sephora exclusive that I’m happy is living with me. — Marcia
