Have you heard that Lush has come out with six brand new Solid Shampoo Bars? A longtime fan of Lush Seanik Shampoo Bar, I was doing a happy dance when they sent the BIZ five of their six new bars to try.
The Lush Solid Shampoo Bars are handmade, environmentally conscious, and perfect for travel. They are also very easy to use if you know the ‘secret’. The first few times I tried Lush solid shampoos and conditioners, I got my long hair all tangled up and it was a rather awkward experience. Then I realized that I needed to get my hair wet then smoothed the bar straight down from crown to ends. The bars lather up nicely and rinse out clean. I highly suggest the Lush Shampoo Bar Tin for safe storage in between shampoos.
The Solid Shampoo Bars are discs of shampoo that are extremely condensed, about 60 to 100 times. In fact, one bar has roughly the same amount of shampoo as three regular plastic bottles of shampoo. This means that when you use a Solid Shampoo Bar, you are doing your part for the environment and reducing the amount of plastic waste.
The six new Solid Shampoo Bars include Brazilliant, Montalbano, Lullaby, Honey I Washed My Hair, Copperhead, and Jason and the Argan Oil. I have all but Jason and the Argan Oil for review today.
Brazilliant ($9.95) features orange oil and andiroba oil from the Brazilian rainforest to both strengthen and condition hair. Whole fresh oranges go into this bright little disc. It leaves my hair extremely smooth with no frizz. What I love the most, though, is the scent…that fabulous orange smells so clean and fresh.
Montalbano ($9.95) is a little hockey puck of lemony goodness. It has three different types of lemon, including lemon juice, lemon peel, and lemon oil. This is the perfect bar for those with oily hair and scalp. Normal haired people will love this for extra clean hair, but if you have dry hair go for Honey I Washed My Hair or Copperhead instead.
Lullaby ($9.95) is a great name for this bar since it is very gentle and the scent is so comforting. Oat milk and almond meal nourish and protect hair, and the lavender and chamomile oils make this smell like a warm memory. This is a great bar for your little ones!
The Honey I Washed My Hair Shampoo Bar ($9.95) has that classic ‘toffee drenched in honey’ scent. The honey is a great moisturizer and I find that this bar leaves my hair very soft and bouncy. This is a great choice for those with sensitive scalps.
Copperhead ($11.95) is the coolest looking Solid Shampoo Bar with the epic snake imprint. Impressive! This bar has tons of great ingredients, including cocoa butter, agar agar, seaweed gel, and henna. There is just a small amount of henna – not enough to change hair color, but enough to condition hair. This bar makes my hair straight and glossy with shine. It is the one to choose if you have fine hair or color-treated hair. Since I have both, it makes sense that this is my favorite of all the new bars. The scent is a heavenly mixture of vanilla and coffee…a perfect way to wake up in the morning.
