Super shine with Kryolan High Gloss Lip Gloss!

Love super shiny lips? I’ve got just what you want – Kryolan Cosmetics High Gloss Lip Gloss ($20.95). Kryolan is by far one of my most favorite cosmetics lines. Their motto is ‘Makeup is a science.’ Kryolan makes their own makeup, which is rare – pretty much unheard of – in the cosmetics industry. They have done this for three generations, coming up with the concept, manufacturing the product, and then ‘loving it into existence.’ I don’t think I have ever tried a product from Kryolan that didn’t make me swoon.

Kryolan High Gloss Lip Gloss

I’m a lip gloss lover and the High Gloss Lip Glosses are definitely ones to love. They have amazing slip without any stickiness, and they last about as long as any lip gloss has a right to.  The High Gloss lippies give tons of shine and a nice tint of color. There are 32 shades available which range from the clear shiny Crystal Rose to the brick-red Catwalk. I have three shades for you today – Gold, Marilyn, and Beach.

Kryolan High Gloss Lip Gloss in Gold

Kryolan High Gloss Lip Gloss in Gold

Gold is the sheerest of my three shades. It’s not sparkly or shimmery, it’s a golden sheen that is very pretty alone, but it really rocks over a matte lip liner or lipstick. A trick that I love to do is pair this with a cool colored matte lipstick, like a cool blue pink. It creates the most gorgeous effect – try it!

Kryolan High Gloss Lip Gloss in Marilyn

Kryolan High Gloss Lip Gloss in Marilyn

Marilyn is beautiful girly pink. It has teeny tiny silvery shimmers that make lips look just luscious. I can’t decide if I love this one the most or if my favorite is Beach.

Kryolan High Gloss Lip Gloss in Beach

Beach is a fabulous coral shade with silver shimmer. This is the most tinted of the three shades and it’s really lovely – just enough color to give my lips the boost they need, with an on point shine that really lasts.

Kryolan High Gloss Lip Gloss

I am a huge, huge fan of Kryolan High Gloss Lip Gloss and if you are a lip gloss lover who wants lots of shine I can’t rave enough about these beauties. I’ve got three of the 32 shades and now I want the other 29!!

Osmosis + Colour Lip Gloss for beautiful juicy lips

Osmosis + Colour Bellini and Primrose lip glosses

A beautiful lip is perfect for any time of year but in my opinion late summer and fall are excellent times to wear the Osmosis + Colour Hydrating Mineral Lip Glosses in Bellini and Primrose. These glosses blew me away when I first received them and continue to do that each time I wear one.

These hydrating glosses look so juicy on lips like you just finished drinking a Bellini, eating a peach or watermelon. No dry lips with these lovelies. Instead you get a ton of natural looking shine.

Each lip gloss features a creamy, rich texture and 3D pigments to help your lips appear fuller and more plumped. The line’s jojoba and sunflower oils hydrate and nourish, encouraging the healing process and turning dry, chapped areas into baby smooth and soft. Enhancing your natural barriers to lock moisture in, each formula will also promote firmness and elasticity. Each swipe of luminous color will even help remove free radicals and block environmental age-factors, all thanks to its antioxidant packed ingredients.

Osmosis Hydrating Lip Gloss in Primrose

Osmosis Hydrating Lip Gloss in Bellini

They even have a juicy fragrance to them that I find pleasant. There’s a combination of grapefruit and strawberry that makes this unusual but nicely so. It doesn’t last very long so even fragrance phobes can wear these with ease. Bellini is a soft orange that’s actually more peach on me than it appears in the tube. Primrose is a bright pink that that promises a beautiful pout.

Most glosses are going to be short lived but these Osmosis ones have a thicker texture to them. And surprisingly they are minimally sticky. They feel soft on my lips and it’s only during high winds that I end up noticing that my hair sometimes sticks to my lips.

There are two outstanding features: these are both Gluten-Free and Oncology Friendly. I’ve never seen the designation on a lip product that said oncology friendly and that really touched me. I think these glosses would definitely brighten up someone going through treatment and make their lips feel so much better.

Bellini and Primrose are the two newest additions to the already pretty collection so now there are 6 glosses to make your lips shine while being nourished. These $19 Osmosis + Colour glosses will make every day special.  —  Marcia

Summer sheer for lips and cheeks: Soap & Paper Lip Butter Tint Set

Summer is here and it is BLAZING hot in Michigan…almost 100 degrees every day for the past week! I don’t want to put lots of makeup on but I still want a little color so I am reaching for Soap & Paper Factory Lip Butters. These pots of buttery goodness not only give lips a fabulous matte tint, they also work like a charm on cheeks too, giving them the perfect pop of color for a summer glow (well, two out of the three do, anyway)!
The Lip Butters can be bought separately for $12 each, or they are available together as the Lip Butter Tint Set for $36.00. The packaging is quintessential Soap & Paper Factory – retro, vintage, fabulous. The lids unscrew to reveal sheer tinted lip butters that are made with wildcrafted ingredients. As always, no Soap & Paper products are tested on animals.

The Lip Butters have a matte finish yet they are hydrating and have a nice slip on the lips. On cheeks they feel slightly moist but not sticky. The ingredients include wildcrafted Calendula, Plantain, and Self-Heal, which is a herb that is especially wonderful for the lips and mouth. Self-Heal is why the lip butters have a bit of a minty taste to them.

Soap and Paper In the Nude Lip Butter

Soap and Paper In the Nude Lip Butter

In the Nude is the only one that is strictly for lips. There is no color to speak of, so no reason to put it on your cheeks! It gives lips a nice hydrating slip and is a terrific all-around lip butter to have on hand.

Soap and Paper Rose Glow Lip Butter

Soap and Paper Rose Glow Lip Butter

Soap and Paper Rose Glow Lip Butter

Rose Glow is a very pretty, soft matte rose shade. As I mentioned, it’s been on fire hot here in Michigan, so my poor Rose Glow was weeping a bit only because it was 98 degrees when I was taking my pics. I love this as a lip shade and also as a cheek shade. Even though it’s a little moist on the cheeks, it gives a great glow and it doesn’t sink or pool into pores like a lot of cream or gel blushes do on me.

Soap and Paper Moulin Rouge Lip Butter

Soap and Paper Moulin Rouge Lip Butter

Soap and Paper Moulin Rouge Lip Butter

Moulin Rouge is the deepest color of the three, a beautiful soft berry tint. It rocks as both a lip tint and as a cheek tint. This is my favorite. I use a little for just a touch of color, or layer it for more drama – I find it to be very versatile and oh so pretty. Love!!
I really like the versatility of the Soap & Paper Lip Butters especially since I don’t wear much makeup in the summer. It’s fantastic to throw on a little lip tint and a little pop of cheek color without being afraid of my face melting into the sidewalk. Since the trio set costs the same as buying the lip butters separately, you can buy all three or just get what you need. My favorite is Moulin Rouge, followed by Rose Glow then In the Nude.  You can find Soap and Paper Factory on their website, at Amazon, and at lots of cool stores nationwide.  – Lisa

Yummy treats for cheeks and lips: Pixi Dulce Cafe con Dulce and Dulce Lip Candy Palettes

Pixi + Dulce Candy Sweet Glow Palette and Dulce’s Lip Candy

Pixi Beauty paired up with three influensers for new color collections.  Marcia reviewed the beautiful sets by  Chloe Morello and Weylie Hoang.  Today I have the cheek and lip palettes by the beautiful blogger Dulce.  She has a gorgeous website with tremendous fashion tips and great beauty advice, and her Pixi palettes are very pretty.  Get them before they are gone!!

Pixi + Dulce Candy Sweet Glow Palette

The Pixi + Dulce Candy Sweet Glow Palette ($24) has nine cheek powder shades that range from light champagne to dark brown contour.  The colors are all gorgeous and work as blushes, bronzers, highlighters, or eyeshadows.  They have tons of pigment and are buttery smooth.

Pixi + Dulce Candy Sweet Glow Palette swatches

Pixi + Dulce Candy Sweet Glow Palette swatches

Pixi + Dulce Candy Sweet Glow Palette swatches

It’s recommended to use your fingers and I actually agree if using these as eyeshadows.  It’s easier to manipulate the color and you can really create some very cool eye looks.  For cheeks, I use brushes, and they have a duochromatic effect so they give color and a glow to skin.  The texture is powder to cream which makes it very easy to play with and a lot of fun.

Dulce’s Lip Candy ($24) This palette contains nine lip and cheek colors that have antioxidants and minerals to keep skin soft and hydrated.

Pixi + Dulce’s Lip Candy

The shades range from barely there pink to deep red.  The colors are feminine and beautiful, mostly sheer but you can build them up for more tint.  A few of them are downright UBER pigmented, like Beso. You can also use them on your cheeks and in fact Dulce recommends using them as a base before putting on the cheeks powders.  Most of them are really too light to use as a blush, but a few – Beso, Flor, Canela, Corazon – could work.  My skin didn’t work well with this as a blush – it disappeared almost as soon as I put it on, but honestly my skin eats cream blush so I wasn’t surprised.  If you have normal skin it shouldn’t be a problem!  I use this as a lippie palette and it’s outstanding for that purpose.  With all the colors, you can do fun things like layer shades, or use a dark base and put a light shade right in the middle of the lip to create a fuller lip.

The lip glosses are very versatile, and if you love a full selection right at your fingertips – and literally your fingertips…I mean, you can use a brush but I am too impatient and just dip my fingers in – then this palette is well worth your money.

You can find Pixi Beauty and the Dulce Candy sets online at Pixi – get them before they are sold out and gone forever!  – Lisa

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss – swatches for VIP, Set List, Drumroll, Groupie, Mixtape

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss

The gorgeous Marlena, aka Makeup Geek, has some fantastic lip products and we have lots of swatches for you!  This week I have Foiled Lip Glosses ($15), and next Sunday Marcia has Showstopper Cream Lip Stain Lip Glosses.

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss

The Foiled Lip Glosses are truly dreamy. My oh my these are good!! The texture is incredible – soft with great slip, yet they last for about six hours. The pigment is fantastic, with tons of reflective metallic shine. This is the most comfy lip gloss ever and I just can’t believe the finish…anything else I’ve worn with a mirror gloss is somewhat uncomfortable, but this is sooo nice. Amazing!

The gloss is NOT sticky and it is NOT frosty. The shine is on point, the shimmer is fab, there is no taste and no fragrance. Makeup Geek has a 100% total winner here. Wowza.  I have five of the ten shades available with swatches for you.  First up is the lightest shade, VIP.

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in VIP

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in VIP

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in VIP (from Makeup Geek website)

VIP is a light peachy pink.  It’s dark enough to work for my thin lips…anything too nude and I just look washed out, but this has enough tint to show up.  Actually, I find that if I apply another coat the color gets more intense and deeper. It’s a very pretty, girly shade that isn’t frosty. I love it.

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Set List

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Set List

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Set List (from Makeup Geek website)

Set List is a medium rose with light pink reflects. This is my favorite of the five shades. Look at how beautiful this is!!  This is a perfect spring/summer shade, and if you are only going to buy one lip gloss to transition into the new season this should be it.

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Mixtape

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Mixtape

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Mix Tape (from Makeup Geek website)

Mixtape is a rosy plum that is really gorgeous – look at the foil effect with this one! It’s not very flattering on my thin lips, but if you have full lips you will rock it. I think this will especially remarkable on darker skin tones.

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Drumroll

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Drumroll

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Drum Roll (from Makeup Geek website)

Drumroll is a mid-toned purple with pink reflects, another darker shade that has a marvelous metallic finish. The wear time for this baby is insane – I put this on and I swear it lasted a full seven hours.

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Groupie

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Groupie

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss in Groupie (from Makeup Geek website)

Groupie is a brightened fuchsia with purple reflects. This is not as bright with one coat, which is how I wear it and it still lasts a good six hours.  If you want it bright, add another coat and it really gets that mirror effect.

Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Gloss swatches, left to right: Set List, VIP, Groupie, Drumroll, Mixtape

I think the Makeup Geek Foiled Lip Glosses are to die for. I am beyond impressed by these lovelies! Other shades available include Acoustic, rich ox blood-red; Backstage,  deep purple with royal blue reflects; Headliner, rich copper; Replay,  bright pinky coral; and Vinyl, a medium taupe with silver reflects and subtle purple undertones.

Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Crystalline, Rose Gold, and Bare Brilliance

David Letterman has a new show on Netflix named “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction” and that’s exactly how we feel about Pixi Beauty. It needs no introduction as a brand since we rave about them all the time. They are always coming out with new products that are unique to the market and have built up a wonderful reputation for both their Skintreats and their cosmetics. So they need no introduction, just reviews. Oh and a giveaway too.

Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Crystalline, Rose Gold, and Bare Brilliance

There is a lot to love from Pixi and today I am crushing on Pixi eyes and lips.  My first date with LIQUID FAIRY LIGHTS ($15) was actually a total dud…but that’s because I thought these beauties were for lips! Yes, I used these liquid glimmer eyeshadows on my lips and was like, man, these sure are gritty. I can’t recommend these at all.  What a bummer, they are so gorgeous in the tube…how did Pixi get this so wrong?? Then I took a look at the packaging and just had to laugh!!

Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Crystalline, Rose Gold, and Bare Brilliance

So on my eyes they went for a second date and a true love affair was born. They are GORGEOUS. Even on my old eyes, these glimmery ethereal shadows are fantastic. They feel very interesting when applied – they go on wet and feel moist for a bit, probably thanks to the chamomile and rose extracts in the formula. They dry down in a few minutes and are so pretty. I love them by themselves, although you can also layer them over other eyeshadows if you want to add depth.

Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Crystalline

Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Rose Gold

Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Bare Brilliance

Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Crystalline, Rose Gold, and Bare Brilliance

Crystalline is a silvery sparkling white. Bare Brilliance is glimmering brown. Rose Gold is a shimmery golden brown. I apply them with the doe foot applicator (another reason I thought they were lip glosses!!) but you can use a brush or your finger.

Moving on to actual Pixi lip products, the MATTELAST LIQUID LIP ($14) is an excellent matte lippie. It lasts forever and doesn’t flake or become overly drying. It has rosehip oil in it which makes this easier to wear than many other matte lippies.

Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip in Prettiest Pink

Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip in Prettiest Pink

Pixi MatteLast Liquid Lip in Prettiest Pink

I really like the applicator – it’s called a PixiPetal applicator and Pixi says that it ‘provides even and precise application’ and I have to agree. You outline your lips with the point of the applicator then fill in the color with the flat side. My shade is Prettiest Pink, which is a very bright blue pink. It’s a little intense for my thin lips so I tone it down with some gloss. I want to try this in other shades that would work better for my lips, like Pastel Petal or Really Rose.

Pixi LipLift Max in Peony Bloom

Pixi LipLift Max in Peony Bloom

Pixi LipLift Max in Peony Bloom

I also love the LIPLIFT MAX ($14), which is Pixi’s plumping lip gloss. It gives lips a shiny, glossy look and has a fresh, minty taste. It has a nice slip that isn’t sticky at all, and the formula has peptides, aloe, jojoba, and chamomile that treats and hydrates lips while also plumping them up. Mine is in the shade Peony Bloom, which is a very pretty peachy pink. I just love it for spring!!

Pixi Skintreats: T-Zone Peel Off Mask, Rose Cream Cleanser, Rose Tonic

When Petra Strand started Pixi Beauty just 10 years ago you only knew about her radiant cosmetics but she always had a passion for skincare. Her first skincare item, Glow Tonic, took off and became a world favorite for women wanting natural beauty that was affordable and youth-enhancing.

As time has evolved so has Pixi Skintreats and right now there’s a surge in Rose based products.

Start with Pixi’s new ROSE CREAM CLEANSER, a nourishing cream cleanser. Surprisingly this is made with mineral rich mud that cleanses your skin as it helps strengthen and soften it. This contains some wonderful ingredients like Rose Flower Oil to moisturize; Chamomile & Aloe Vera for soothing and calming, and Avocado Oil to condition and soften your skin. I like that it’s so creamy as I find that feels hydrating.

Pixi Rose Cream Cleanser

ROSE TONIC is the next generation of Glow Tonic. It contains nutrients your skin will love while it helps tone, calm skin, balance pH, and minimize redness. This is excellent for sensitive skin as well as all skin types as it’s alcohol free. The key ingredients are Rose Flower Extract which moisturizes and restores skin; Elderflower to gently tone and brighten; and Chamomile & Aloe Vera to sooth, calm and reduce redness. Use this after cleansing or to refresh your skin at any time of day.

Pixi Rose Tonic

The T-ZONE PEEL OFF MASK is my favorite new Skintreat. I’m a fan of masks and the fact that it is meant for my t-zone makes it even better. It’s only used on your actual t-zone so for me it’s my nose and chin (the t-zone also includes forehead but I don’t have a problem there). It’s to be used 1-2 times a week, more if needed. Put on a thick, even layer and let it completely dry. Then have the fun of gently peeling it off. It gives me immediate results making my face look less congested. I usually follow up with Rose Tonic or Glow Tonic. “It contains a unique green superfood blend that includes Avocado, Cucumber, Aloe Vera, Green Tea, and Bamboo Extract to help firm & refine. Great for congested, dull & tired skin.”

Pixi T-Zone Peel-Off Mask

Pixi T-Zone Peel-Off Mask

FAST FLASH FACIAL is a great skin treat since it has three of the Skintreats in one box. “Discover our 3 steps for a fast and effective professional salon peel treatment without leaving home!
Our radiance revealing, Peel & Polish resurfaces and loosens dead skin cells, gently exfoliates, and polishes to reveal brighter skin. Our Exfoliating Glow Tonic toner with 5% glycolic acid evens out skintone for a brighter, clearer, smoother complexion. This radiance-boosting Instant Flash Balm is the ultimate 3-in-1 primer, moisturizer & mask that brightens and revitalizes to perk up skin instantly!”

Pixi Skintreats Fast Flash Facial

Pixi Fast Flash Facial

With this set you get 3 of Pixi’s most popular items. Peel & Polish is something that I use several times a week. It lives in my shower and the minute I step in I apply it to my dry skin. I let it be for at least 2 minutes while I start to wash my body, then I massage it into my skin for the exfoliation and rinse off. Glow Tonic is the star of Pixi’s line and is an exfoliating toner with 5% glycolic acid. Last in the trio is the Rose Flash Balm, a 3 in 1 product that is oil free and moisturizes and brightens. It also is great as a revitalizing mask as well as a primer to prep skin for perfect makeup application.

On the Town and Loveable lips by Beauty Junkees

Beauty Junkees Lips

Beauty Junkees has tons of great color products at fantastic prices, and they do lips exceptionally well.  Today I have swatches from two of their collections – On the Town Liquid Lip Gloss Collection and Loveable Mini Mint Lip Gloss Collection.

Beauty Junkees Vitamin E Moisturizer Stick

First, I want to give a shout out to their Vitamin E Moisturizer Stick.  In the winter months I really battle dry, cracked lips, which is a major problem particularly when trying to wear matte shades.  This handy little moisturizing stick has been my best friend lately, so if you are doing a little lippie buying spree over at Beauty Junkees why not pick this up too?  It’s only $10, and the Vitamin E is fantastic for healing sore lips and even helps heal cold sores.  Plus, it’s colorless, unscented, paraben free, gluten-free, and cruelty free.

On the Town – top shade is Metallic Mauve, bottom shade is Dinner Party

I only have two of the 3 colors from the On the Town Liquid Lipstick Collection ($34.97).  This collection features red liquid lip shades ranging from deep cranberry to subtle mauve.  They are super pigmented and very long-lasting – in fact, they can last all day if you don’t eat anything greasy.  The liquid lipsticks apply like a lip gloss but have the pigmentation of a lipstick, and then dry down to a matte finish.  Beauty Junkees says these have three times more pigment than any other liquid lipstick on the market.  They definitely are impressively pigmented, and if you aren’t a fan of the matte finish you can top them with a clear gloss and they will still have the same long wear time.

Top: Metallic Mauve; Bottom: Dinner Party

The top shade above is my favorite, Metallic Mauve.  It’s gorgeous – a beautiful light metallic mauve that gives lips tremendous depth.  The bottom shade is Dinner Party, a matte deep berry.  This is very pretty although a tough shade for my thin lips to pull off – I end up topping it with a shimmery clear gloss.  The shade I am missing is Vampirette, a matte deep cranberry stain.

Loveable Mini Mint Lip Gloss Collection

What’s not to love about the Loveable Mini Mint Lip Gloss Collection ($14.97)?  I always really appreciate the smaller sized lip glosses because you know you will use them up before they have a chance to go bad.  There is no doubt you will use up this super pretty trio of pastel shades – rose, mauve, and peach – feminine, girly, definitely loveable.

Top to bottom: Mint Charming, Mint Blossom, Mint Sugar Glaze

Mint Charming goes on with a slight rosy tint and lots of shimmer. Mint Blossom has the most pigment, with a slightly shimmery finish and a mauve plum tint. Mint Sugar Glaze has a matte finish and a peachy tint.

These lip glosses have a lovely slip and aren’t the least bit sticky.  They give lips just the right amount of color and are wonderful for a casual daytime look.  The ‘mint’ part of the name come from the spearmint extract in the formula, which makes them taste minty and also gives them a cooling sensation.  The ingredients also include aloe and vitamins C and E so the glosses are very hydrating.

Beauty Junkees does lips right, and these two lip collections are wonderful.  Head over to and take a look! – Lisa
