7 Creams Luxury Starter Set from Karin Herzog

One of the hottest gifts this holiday is the 7 Creams Luxury Starter Set from Karin Herzog. It’s a great concept – seven skin care deluxe tubes, one for each day of the week, the whole set lasting for about five weeks. What a perfect gift for a beauty buff. It’s also an excellent way to try all the signature skin care creams from Karin Herzog and the packaging is truly luxurious.

Karin Herzog 7 Creams of the Week Set

This isn’t your typical sampler set. The tubes are generously sized, and the sleek black case with gold hardware is very chic. Each tube even has the day on the label so you know which one to use on Monday, which one on Tuesday, etc. There is also a very nice brush – you will use this long after the initial set is gone – that is used to apply several of the face creams.

Monday is to hydrate skin with Rose Gentle Face Cream. It has the 1% active oxygen that the Karin Herzog line is known for and is applied in the morning. Tuesday is for exfoliation with the AHA Remedy Face Cream. The AHA’s get rid of any dead, dull skin and prep the face for the remaining five creams you’ll use the rest of the week. Wednesday is time for a mid-week boost so you will energize, moisturize, and firm up skin with the Vita-A-Kombi 1 Anti-Aging Face Cream. This is applied in the morning and again at night after cleansing.  Thursday is for comforting the skin with the Additional Sweet Nourishing Face Cream, which is a great hydrator and can also be used as a makeup primer. Friday is the day to normalize with 2% oxygen to make sure skin is blemish-free for the weekend using the Oxygen Face Normalizing Cream. For the weekend, you have the Essential Mask Hydrating Face Mask for Saturday and then the Vitamin H Extra Nourishing Face Cream for Sunday.

The 7 Creams of the Week Set has a lot going for it. The generous size tubes are better than samples, giving you five full weeks to try out seven different products. The packaging is truly lovely, and this set is perfect for gifting to someone for the holidays. It’s also a perfect set for traveling since everything is TSA size. All the creams are for normal skin, and I think anyone would love this except for those very sensitive to fragrance since all the creams are scented.

This set is a $140 value but sells for $100 and I am seeing it on sale for even less at some etailer sites. Put this set on your list of gifts to give…or on your list of gifts for you!  – Lisa

Just breathe! Karin Herzog Oxygen Sun

Summer isn’t over yet and despite all my best efforts I just can’t keep completely out of the sun. Even though I use  sunscreen, I still am exposed to the sun – and that is where Karin Herzog comes in. We were sent Karin Herzog Oxygen Sun ($55) for review consideration and I almost didn’t even try it because it is labeled as a ‘tan accelerator’. But once I read more about it, I was intrigued and decided to give it a chance.

Karin Herzog Oxygen Sun

Karin Herzog Oxygen Sun

The Karin Herzog skin care line is known for oxygen-based skin care. The products have stabilized active oxygen, which is very efficient at carrying nutrients to collagen producing cells. Oxygen Sun is a body moisturizer with the active oxygen formula. This means the moisturizer works as a ‘double agent’ – it helps with tanning while also making your SPF more effective at protecting skin from UVA/UVB rays.

It took me a while to wrap my head around this – after all, tanning is NOT good for the skin. However, if you are going to be in the sun, your skin is going to produce melanin. What Oxygen Sun does is make the melanin production as healthy as possible, without burns, blisters, or peeling. This is because oxygen helps skin tissue regenerate and repair wounds. The thick, creamy moisturizer has vitamin E and keeps skin hydrated before, during, and after sun exposure.

just look at how thick and creamy this lotion is…

Ok, so let me be really clear about this: this is NOT meant to be used on its own because it is not a sunscreen. Also, the best way to apply Oxygen Sun is with a brush or something along the lines of a self tanning mitt, which makes sure the active ingredients aren’t wasted on your palms.

I found that it does help my SPF work better and longer, and the color I do develop is even and not all freckly and splotchy. Oxygen Sun is certainly an extra step to take, but if you are out in the sun a lot, it is a unique product that may interest you.
