Skin Authority Hyper Pigmentation Treatment

Spoiler alert – today’s review is a RAVE.  If you have hyperpigmentation you want to read on…this products WORKS.

I have been testing skin care products long enough – over ten years – to have developed an intuition about what will work for my skin and what won’t. One of my major skin care issues is hyperpigmentation. It started about 12 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter and those dark blotches never really went away. I switched to foundations with heavy coverage and have tried one skin care product after another to lighten those spots. I also am not nearly as vigilant as I should be with sun protection, which certainly doesn’t help matters. Anyway, when Skin Authority offered to send Marcia and I each a product to test, along with our own person skin care coach, I immediate went for the products that address hyperpigmentation.

As I checked out the fabulous sounding products that Skin Authority offers, my skin care product radar was attracted to the Brightening Beauty Infusion with Turmeric and Blueberry ($49) and I thought this was the product for me. Luckily, my personal skin coach gave me some different advice. (The skin care coaching service is FREE, by the way – be sure to take advantage of it!) Based on my tenacious brown patches, she recommended I try the Hyper Pigmentation Treatment ($56.50, 1.7 oz / 50 ml) instead. She said that the Hyper Pigmentation Treatment would fade current hyper pigmentation while also preventing more from occurring. At the same time it would also gently resurface, smooth, anti-age and speed up my skin’s cell turnover cycle – kind of like putting my skin on a treadmill to accelerate its metabolism. As with any product that is making a real change to the skin, she advised it would probably take about 60-90 days to see more results, as that is the typical cell turnover cycle. Her professional opinion was that with my particular skin I would see more results more quickly with the Hyper Pigmentation Treatment than with the Brightening Beauty Infusion.  Who am I to argue with a skin coach? I said absolutely and started my testing.

Lighten up with Osmotics Lighten FX

If you have hyperpigmentation, AKA uneven skin tone and brown spots, then you definitely want to check out Osmotics Lighten FX ($68).  Ever since I had my daughter 10 years ago I have been prone to small brown patches that seem to pop up out of nowhere…although I have to admit I also probably don’t reapply sunscreen often enough and that sure doesn’t help. I was hopeful when Osmotics sent this lightening and brightening serum to try and it has impressed the heck out of me.

Issues with skin pigmentation are caused by either too much or too little melanin. Typically, problems with melanin production are thanks to either sun exposure or hormones. Put them both together and it’s double trouble! Osmotics Lighten FX has proven ingredients that truly work to even out skin tone and get rid of brown patches. I had a rather significant one on my forehead and using this serum at night was working. Once I started using it both morning and night that patch disappeared within two weeks.

The effective ingredients include Dimethylmethoxyl Chromanyl Palmitate for brightening skin tone and protecting skin damage from UV radiation. Alpha Arbutin slows down melanin production thanks to its hydroquinone content, which helps prevent future discoloration. The third super effective ingredient is Niacinamide. This superstar is vitamin B3 and nicotinic acid, an anti-aging cell-communicating ingredient. It firms skin, improves texture, and eliminates discoloration. It’s a fantastic moisturizer that also plumps skin and it even helps eliminate acne and redness that blemishes can leave behind. If you have both wrinkles and acne, this is the ingredient you need!

Don’t limit the use to your face as this will work on hands, neck, decolletage…anywhere you have hyperpigmentation issues. And the packaging is fantastic. The ingredients don’t need protection from heat and light to keep the products efficacy, so the see-through airless pump is fabulous and shows exactly how much product is left.

Osmotics Lighten FX is a total winner. This is the solution for all your hyperpigmentation issues!  – Lisa
