Zuzu Luxe and Gabriel Cosmetics are the right and left hand of the same company. They are both gluten free, vegan, and organic cosmetic companies. These are brands not to be missed.
When I received the Zuzu Luxe Plume Palette I was actually a little disappointed. The colors looked drab in the package so I wasn’t expecting much. Once I swatched it through my mind started to change. When I wore it for the first time my mouth just about dropped open. What I see in the palette comes to life on my eyes and seems like a total different being.
Plume is part of the Volcanique Collection which consists of 4 new eyeshadow palettes ($27.50 each) and 2 new lipsticks ($19.10). Plume is described as “metallic shine for the discrete smokey eye” and that tells a lot about these shadows. There is no glitter at all in this palette and the colors are slightly metallic but not glaringly so. The 4 shades are a light creamy skintone with a sheen, a fabulous smokey light grayish lavender, a gray taupe, and charcoal. I love the second shade, the purple one, because it gives a unique touch to Plume. It’s become my favorite purple shadow. It’s not a pastel but it’s not a bright either. It has a heathered look to it that I feel is appropriate for any age.
The shadows are silky smooth and wear beautifully without fading (over an eyeshadow primer).

The other product I was sent is Zuzu’s new Sandstorm Lipstick which is a total Marcia kind of lipstick. While a nude lipstick isn’t for everyone, it’s what I’m most comfortable wearing.
The description “ZuZu Luxe Sandstorm lipstick is a soft topaz with a delicate transparency and subtle radiance to bring out your smoldering beauty” is not what I would of thought of but their words are better than mine.
This lipstick is quite adaptable as it looks different depending on what you use with it. I often am in a hurry and just apply the lipstick without a liner and it looks quite nude that way. But when I get serious and use a liner, Sandstorm will take on a new hue depending on the depth of the liner. I’ve worn it with Chanel Nude for a more browned tone, with Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk for a warm tone and with a cool toned liner from IT Cosmetics. All work, all make the lipstick more than “just” a nude.
What I love about the lipstick is that it’s very hydrating. It’s a satin cream texture that doesn’t give me that dry lip look or show my many lines. While a shade this light isn’t for everyone, it’s totally my jam.
KEY INGREDIENTS & PROPERTIES Jojoba Oil (hydrating, hypoallergenic and long-lasting properties), Aloe Vera (protects the lips from being chapped/dry and has been found to be effective against UV rays.) and Bisabolol (soothing anti-inflammatory properties as well as anti-bacterial action) seal in moisture and protect lips from environmental aggression.
I often hear questions asking about products that are safe for sensitive eyes and I feel that Gabriel and Zuzu Luxe have the answer to these questions. With pure organic ingredients that are safe to use, you really need to investigate the line. Gabriel and Zuzu are sold at health food/organic stores like Whole Food. Online right now, if you spend $25 you’ll receive a bonus of their HOPE lipstick.
Don’t miss out on this great bonus and wonderful cosmetic lines. — Marcia
