Farnhouse Fresh’s new Peat Perfection Mask is different from the other Farmhouse Fresh masks I’ve tried. The others, Pudding Apeel and Guac Star, have looked and smelled good enough to eat. BUT who wants to eat Peat? Normally I’d pass this by except when it’s a mask from Farmhouse Fresh the answer is yes, I’ll try.

At first glance you might be thinking chocolate, then you’d smell and know that it’s not chocolate. While this doesn’t have the smell of what you know as peat, it does have a fresh outdoorsy aroma that is not offensive at all. It’s actually only noticeable if you purposely smell it to check out the fragrance as I’m wont to do.

Peat Perfection is a vegan mask that’s created with peat, the highly concentrated organic plant matter that’s harvested from ago-old enriched wetland vegetation. This natural resource contains a cocktail of calming, hydrating, and moisture locking ingredients. It features locally grown cold pressed organic cucumber extract (full of vitamin C), caffeic acid, silica, and other minerals which all provide anti-oxidants.

The purpose of Farmhouse Fresh Peat Perfection Mask is to help detox, calm, and soothe irritated skin while also hydrating it and locking in moisture. While I don’t have irritated skin I do have skin that wants extra hydration. I have large pores on my nose and cheeks and I find that a mask that dries down like Peat Perfection does wonders to cleanse my pores and keep them looking smaller.

The ingredients in this mask are what made me want to use it. Of course it’s paraben and sulfate free since it’s Farmhouse Fresh after all. It contains essential oils of orange peel, grapefruit, and lavender. Ingredients like bentonite and kaolin clays help remove impurities and at the same time balance oils, unclog and refine pores. In addition it contains anti0xidant rich safflower and soybean oils, pro-vitamin B5, and allantoin. All of these repair the skin’s barrier, attract and hold moisture, and help with irritation.

This is one of the easiest and least messy masks I’ve used. It takes just minutes to set up so even if you have just a few minutes this is perfect. I pull my hair back, smooth the peat perfection on with my fingers and wait for it to dry. It takes maybe 2 to 3 minutes to dry but I like to leave it on longer. I rinse off with warm water and my wash cloth and VOILA I’m done and ready to glow. For those of you who have irritation you’ll want to use this daily, it’s that gentle. The glass jar is 3 oz and you should be able to get 14-16 uses out of it.

Farmhouse Fresh can be found on their website, on Amazon, and at top destination spas like Red Door Spas, Ritz-Carlton, The Spa at Camelback Inn, and many more. The jar retails for $30 making it approximately $2 per use. Wouldn’t you spend $2 to make your skin feel refreshed and hydrated to start your day?  —  Marciapeat-perfection-enriched-peat-purification-mask-9

Boxycharm creates Faces of the Moon

boxycharm october card front

What would you expect to find in an October Boxycharm subscription called Faces of the Moon? A little black maybe? After all it is Halloween month. If you don’t know about Boxycharm, it’s a monthly subscription that only sends full size products. At $21 a month you’ll more than get your money’s worth. For example this month’s box is valued at $137. You read that right. I spent $21 and received $137 worth of items. Granted not every product is one I’d choose for myself but as someone who just loves to hold BIZ giveaways, it gives me more to share.

Do you recognize any products in here? My guess is two or three are ones you could name.

Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask

Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask

Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask ($64) is the big ticket item here and the biggest product in the box. If you follow Beauty Info Zone you know that I’m obsessed with masks. This is a relatively new obsession but one that’s fun to experiment with. Palmetto Derma Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask is an herbal smelling clay mask. It doesn’t dry down completely on my face but it doesn’t stay wet either.

“The soft clay in this mask gently purifies the skin and cleanses pores by absorbing impurities. Its advanced antioxidants defend against free radicals to reverse daily skin damage while its cooling effect refreshes and soothes.” It’s recommended to use this for 15 – 30 minutes. As with all new skincare I start slow and then build up. While this isn’t my favorite mask it’s a nice change and I’m glad to find this in my subscription.

Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara

Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara

Doucce Punk Volumizer Mascara ($24) is a very interesting mascara and a perfect choice for October. I’ve received this before in a subscription and it’s in my current arsenal. If volume is what you want, volume is what you’ll get. The full brush adds extreme volume. It can be messy if you aren’t careful since most of us aren’t used to the Christmas tree shape that’s this large. (This brand new one will be in an upcoming giveaway, the open one is the one I’ve used.)

Lord & Berry Line/Shade Eyeliner

Lord & Berry Line/Shade Eyeliner

Lord & Berry Line/Shade Eyeliner ($18) is … let’s say it together … BLACK. I’m not sure why companies think we need a thousand black eyeliners but they do. The difference with this, according to Boxycharm, is that it’s formulated with kajal and kohl to provide rich, consistent color. It’s also said to be blendable and waterproof. I didn’t swatch it since I’d rather share than open one more black liner.

CULT Cosmetics Nail Polish in Boneyards

CULT Cosmetics Nail Polish in Boneyards

CULT Cosmetics Nail Polish in Boneyards ($12) is the perfect shade for October and the Faces of the Moon. It’s a great shade for Halloween and winter. Boneyards is a versatile, mysterious polish. Enjoy waves of evening grey, whether you’re uptown, downtown, working a weekend or weekday look.”

I love Cult polish and have many in my stash. They wear beautifully on me so this dark grey is very welcome in my life.

Bellapierre Cheek and Lip Stain in Coral

Bellapierre Cheek and Lip Stain in Coral

Bellapierre Cheek and Lip Stain in Coral ($19.99) is a lightweight and oil free product. While the name is Coral, it’s more like a soft warm pink on me. Bellapierre is a mineral makeup brand. The other shade that Bellapierre created this in is a cool pink. The only negative for me about this is the size of the pot. I have a lot of trouble picking up product with my finger in something this size so a brush is a necessity. It’s easy to apply though and if my lips are primed I can wear this on them. I prefer it as a cream blush but sometimes you need to carry less around and this fits that need.

Balance your skin with Chella’s Seaweed and Clay Treatment Mask

chella balancing mask

I always say I have too much skincare yet when a brand like Chella wants to share a Balancing Mask that sounds this good, I have to say yes to them. Chella products have been part of my life for years yet I haven’t reviewed many of them. Silly me. I’m glad though to be able to tell you about this Clay & Seaweed Treatment so you can see what you are missing. (My evil side just came out!)

Chella Balancing Mask, Clay and Seaweed Treatment

Chella Balancing Mask, Clay and Seaweed Treatment

Chella Balancing Mask Clay & Seaweed Treatment is a double duty mask. It’s not a cleanser nor an exfoliator. It’s a treatment that is going to deep clean and hydrate.

A lot of clay masks dry so hard that you can’t move any part of your face, that’s not the case with this Chella Mask. While it does dry down, it stays comfortable the entire time you use it. The directions say to leave it on for 10-15 minutes once a week but you can leave it on much longer if you like. I’ve applied it, lain down to relax and fallen asleep. That’s how comfortable it is. This is also good as a spot treatment for blemishes.

The hectorite clay does the hard work when it gets into your pores to deep cleanse them. It helps balance your pH level and remove impurities. The mask applies as a very light mint color so you don’t look as scary as you do with mud masks. I love to use this mask in the mornings on the days I have time because my normal pores are large and this mask makes them almost invisible.

The seaweed comes into play by hydrating your skin so that it’s not tight after. It’s recommended to use Chella’s Toner and Hydrator after but not a necessity. While the Balancing Mask is $45 you’ll have this for months.
