Christina Choi and Le Metier de Beaute Face of the Day

christina choi FOD2

I used a combination of mostly Le Metier and Christina Choi products one day last week and I loved the results.  Here’s what I used:

For this face of the day, I used Le Metier de Beaute Classic Finish Foundation in V applied with a Beauty Blender. Next, I smoothed It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye Concealer under my eyes and on any dark or red areas.  After that, I applied Inglot Cream Blush in 81, followed by It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores loose powder and It Cosmetics Hello Light Powder Illumizer, plus a little bit of Le Metier Sun Kissed Bronzer.

CC eyes

Christina Choi Glitz & Glamour eyes

On my eyes, I used Christina Choi Glitz and Glamour which I reviewed HERE.  I used Chandelier on the lid, then I used the Glamour cake liner dry on the crease.  I followed with Glitz on the crease and down onto the lid.  Then I wet the cake liner with Face Atelier Transforming Gel and lined my upper lid.  I used Make Up For Ever Kohl Liner in black on my waterline.

I used the cake liner as an eyeshadow – love multitaskers!

I used my Joey Healy Brow Architect Stylo in Molasses for my eyebrows.

My LM/CC FOD…love acronyms!

Lips were Clarins 01 Bay Rose Lip Definer, Guerlain Levres Lips 02 gloss, and I used my Verge One Spiral Wand on my hair.  Wow, sounds like a lot of products, but it didn’t take long to apply and I was totally ready for my day.  I loved my combination of favorite go-to products, it’s always great when things turn out even better than you had hoped!  – Lisa

Biggest personal influences in 2012

soft waves

Soft waves?  No problem!

Verge One – I would say that two lines dramatically changed my daily appearance in 2012.  The first is Verge One.  Their ‘texture wands’ have completely changed the way I wear my hair.  Now pretty much every day I am curly or wavy, and I love it.  The texture wands are truly fabulous finds for which I am extremely grateful!

More lashes = love!

More lashes = love!

Novalash – the second line that dramatically changed my daily appearance in 2012 is Novalash.  I had what I thought were nicely dramatic eyelashes thanks to Latisse…and then I found Novalash.  WOW.  My lashes are huge and beautiful and easy to care for every single day.  This is a ‘get down on my knees and say THANK YOU‘ find!!

Most fun

Everything is better on a stick!

Who knew blue hair could be so fun?

HairUWear – another surprising super fun discovery for me this year were hair extensions.  I adore the ones I have tried from HairUWear, whether they are lively and funky bright colors or seriously hair-enhancing extensions.  Absolute enjoyment that reminded me I need to step outside my comfort zone to make new discoveries.

Christina Choi Cosmetics Glitz and Glamour Collection review and swatches

“Celebrate your unique beauty.”

Christina Choi

Christina Choi

That’s the mantra of Christina Choi, national makeup artist and owner/creator of Christina Choi Cosmetics.  Christina began her cosmetics career at MAC, then became the Designer of Makeup Artistry and National Makeup Artist at Bare Escentuals.  She was the personal makeup artist for Leslie Blodgett (CEO of Bare Escentuals) and she helped design their ad campaigns and infomercials, so we have been admiring her work for years.

Christina was inspired to create a cosmetics line that works for everyone.  As an Asian-American, she had difficulty finding products that were designed for her particular needs.  So she created Christina Choi Cosmetics, which has options for all ethnicities and all needs.  Christina believes that cosmetics should enhance, not change who you are.  She launched her line last May, and it’s a really exciting collection of eyeshadows, lip glosses, and brushes.  She also has a BB Cream that I am just dying to try.  She knows her stuff, and I love that her line is completely fragrance and cruelty free.  She has some excellent YouTube tutorials as well.

If you haven’t tried Christina Choi Cosmetics yet, consider the Glitz & Glamour Collection ($70, an $89.50 value).  It’s only available until December 31st.  You also have the option to break up the kit and purchase items individually if you want.

Glitz and Glamour

Glitz and Glamour

This kit was inspired by old Hollywood, and these are perfect ‘holiday party’ shades.  It comes in a pretty black mesh makeup bag, and here’s what’s inside:

The Perfect Liner Brush ($19) is a long-handled eyeliner brush.

Perfect Liner Brush

Perfect Liner Brush

This is a terrific high quality brush.  It has a nice, tight angled bristle and is great for lining the eyes and also for filling in the eyebrows.

The eyeshadows have a sophisticated packaging, they are thin with a flip top see-through lid.  The Chandelier Eyeshadow ($17) is pretty and unique.

Chandelier Eyeshadow

Chandelier Eyeshadow

It’s a ‘metallic icy-silver with slight lavender undertones’.

So pretty!

So pretty!

It has a pearlized shimmer that really brightens the eyes.  It’s beautifully pigmented and wears wonderfully, even on my oily lids.  It blends like a dream, and all her eyeshadows are pigmented enough to be able to use wet or dry.  I use Chandelier dry as a brow shade, and wet as a lid shade.

Christina’s eyeshadows also have Vitamins C and E in them to nourish your eyelids.

Also in the Glitz and Glamour kit is the limited edition Glitz eyeshadow/Glamour cake eyeliner duo.

Glitz & Glamour

Glitz, the eyeshadow is a ‘rich navy blue with light blue shimmer flecks’.  Glamour is a ‘deep ocean blue cake eyeliner’.

Both shades can be used wet or dry.  Below are dry swatches of all three eyeshadows.

Used dry, Glamour is a deep blue-gray, and as a cake liner it becomes an even deeper blue.  Just put a little water on the eyeliner brush, and that activates the cake liner, making it thicker for gorgeous lining.

Glitz eyeshadow is stunning.  Used dry it makes a fabulous smoky eye, and you can also use it wet for even more intensity.

And the final product in the Glitz and Glamour Collection is the Leading Lady Luxury Gloss ($19.50).  This is a limited edition lip gloss, and it is freaking fantastic.

Leading Lady Luxury Gloss

Leading Lady is a ‘raspberry pink sheen’ and it is such a gorgeous shade!

I love the doe-foot applicator.  The lip gloss is hydrating and long-lasting without being sticky.

Leading Lady swatch

It’s semi-sheer but packs enough of a punch of color to be used on its own.  I think it’s the perfect shade for the season.

Wearing Leading Lady Luxury Gloss – ready for a party!
