Yummy treats for cheeks and lips: Pixi Dulce Cafe con Dulce and Dulce Lip Candy Palettes

Pixi + Dulce Candy Sweet Glow Palette and Dulce’s Lip Candy

Pixi Beauty paired up with three influensers for new color collections.  Marcia reviewed the beautiful sets by  Chloe Morello and Weylie Hoang.  Today I have the cheek and lip palettes by the beautiful blogger Dulce.  She has a gorgeous website with tremendous fashion tips and great beauty advice, and her Pixi palettes are very pretty.  Get them before they are gone!!

Pixi + Dulce Candy Sweet Glow Palette

The Pixi + Dulce Candy Sweet Glow Palette ($24) has nine cheek powder shades that range from light champagne to dark brown contour.  The colors are all gorgeous and work as blushes, bronzers, highlighters, or eyeshadows.  They have tons of pigment and are buttery smooth.

It’s recommended to use your fingers and I actually agree if using these as eyeshadows.  It’s easier to manipulate the color and you can really create some very cool eye looks.  For cheeks, I use brushes, and they have a duochromatic effect so they give color and a glow to skin.  The texture is powder to cream which makes it very easy to play with and a lot of fun.

Dulce’s Lip Candy ($24) This palette contains nine lip and cheek colors that have antioxidants and minerals to keep skin soft and hydrated.

Pixi + Dulce’s Lip Candy

The shades range from barely there pink to deep red.  The colors are feminine and beautiful, mostly sheer but you can build them up for more tint.  A few of them are downright UBER pigmented, like Beso. You can also use them on your cheeks and in fact Dulce recommends using them as a base before putting on the cheeks powders.  Most of them are really too light to use as a blush, but a few – Beso, Flor, Canela, Corazon – could work.  My skin didn’t work well with this as a blush – it disappeared almost as soon as I put it on, but honestly my skin eats cream blush so I wasn’t surprised.  If you have normal skin it shouldn’t be a problem!  I use this as a lippie palette and it’s outstanding for that purpose.  With all the colors, you can do fun things like layer shades, or use a dark base and put a light shade right in the middle of the lip to create a fuller lip.

The lip glosses are very versatile, and if you love a full selection right at your fingertips – and literally your fingertips…I mean, you can use a brush but I am too impatient and just dip my fingers in – then this palette is well worth your money.

You can find Pixi Beauty and the Dulce Candy sets online at Pixi – get them before they are sold out and gone forever!  – Lisa

Let’s get going with IT Cosmetics and their travel size cosmetics

It’s summer in just a few days but when did we ever need the calendar to tell us that. The last few weeks of temperatures in the 80’s and 90’s have told us already. Summer often means travel and IT Cosmetics has new travel size products that you’ll love to take with you wherever you go. Since IT Cosmetics also has a sale going on for the next few days it’s the perfect time to hop onto their website to see what you can get and to pick up these new products.

IT Cosmetics travel size products

samples, affiliates

I’m starting with the product that I’m most excited to see in a travel size: Miracle Water 3-in-1 Tonic. Besides being able to travel with it I have friends who have wanted to try this Miracle Water but haven’t been sure if it would work for them. Now for $15 they can get a 1.7 oz/50mL size to try for themselves. This is not your typical micellar water. It’s a lot more. Personally I use this in the mornings because it’s a lightweight no-rinse product. It combines  Skin-Brightening Radiance Booster to help purify, balance and brighten the look of your skin. It says that it’s a potent antiaging treatment that helps to diffuse the look of lines and wrinkles. Plus the cleanser part of it gently removes dirt, oil, and any leftover makeup.

IT Cosmetics Secret Sauce is another that newly comes in a travel size. It’s an excellent way to try this moisturizer if you haven’t had the pleasure before. And it’s an excellent size to take with you. A trip isn’t great if your skin is going to react funny. You want to look and feel your best. Secret Sauce can be used day and night.

“Developed with plastic surgeons, your clinically advanced moisturizer helps reveal younger-looking skin instantly and more miraculous results over time! The skin-loving, powerfully potent secret lies in the Secret Sauce™ Fermented Complex: 7 clinically advanced, penetration-enhancing fermented ingredients that work to increase absorbency and maximize the anti-aging benefits of Secret Sauce™. Also featuring anti-aging collagen, peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C and licorice root, Secret Sauce™ is perfect for all skin types and reduces the look of discoloration, lines and wrinkles. With the added infusion of proprietary Drops of Light Technology™ Concentrate and diamond powder, this revolutionary moisturizer truly delivers your most youthful, lit-from-within glow—and is your secret to beautiful skin wherever you go! “

I keep the full size on my vanity so that I never have to search for it. Now my new travel bag will have its own Secret Sauce.

A few others that I don’t have samples of but that are available are Confidence in a Cream and Confidence in a Cleanser. Since all IT Cosmetics are created with anti-aging ingredients you can be ensured that these are too. Confidence in a Cleanser even contains serum in it so while your skin is being cleansed it’s also being treated.

Now onto some of the cosmetics that IT is so well known for. As you may know we are crazy (really crazy) for IT CC+™ Cream with SPF 50+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream + Anti-Aging Hydrating Serum + SPF 50+ UVA/UVB Broad Spectrum Physical Sunscreen. This is a staple in my wardrobe. I so wish I’d had the travel size to take with me on my long vacation. You can buy the travel size in one of 5 colors: Fair, Light, Medium, Tan, and Rich. If you want an even bigger bargain during the sale you’ll find the Ornament in Light, Medium and Tan for a steal but don’t wait!

IT cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+ travel size

IT’s original Universal Brow Pencil with Active Brow Enhancing Technology pencil is one of the products that put IT on the map. IT Cosmetics® has partnered with the American Cancer Society’s Look Good, Feel Better program and for every Brow Power® pencil sold, one is donated to go to help women face the effects of Cancer with Confidence! I just love the pencil and I love the philanthropy.

Another product that is available is a travel size of Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer. This is their concealer with Drops of Light Technology™ for added radiance and a lit-from-within glow. I have it in Light, Medium, Tan and Rich (giveaway below). I don’t see it on the IT Cosmetics site for sale but I might have missed it.

IT bye bye Under Eye Illumination Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer

One last thing and it’s not a mini but IT Cosmetics newest cosmetic item: Bye Bye Pores Bronzer. If you know the wonder of Bye Bye Pores pressed powder then you’ll love the new version in the Bronzer. It comes in one shade, Beach, and it’s reasonably priced at $30. This is an oil-free matte formula. Here’s the news from IT: “Bye Bye Pores Bronzer is your revolutionary bronzing finishing veil that airbrushes away the look of pores while adding instant sun-kissed warmth to your skin. Infused with Bye Bye Pores Optical Blurring Technology™ and real silk, this talc-free, oil-free bronzer is designed to glide over your skin without settling into lines or pores and diffuse the look of imperfections for your most flawless glow. The universally flattering shade also features coconut extract for essential moisture and a refreshing sensorial experience, plus anti-aging collagen, hyaluronic acid, peptides and vitamins A, C, and E.”

Bye Bye Pores Bronzer

You can wear it alone or in combination with your favorite foundations/powders. This is light enough to contour the outer regions of your face and under your neck. A wonderful brush to use with it is the Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder Brush number 8.

Just like IT has a Secret Sauce, I’ve got a secret giveaway. If you’ve read down this far you’ll see what’s available. There will be 4 winners and it’s international. You’ll need to comment to say which set you want: #1 will get the Light Bye Bye Eye Illumination and Light CC+ Cream, #2 is the Medium Bye Bye Eye Illumination and Medium CC+ Cream, #3 will receive Bye Bye Eye Tan Illumination and Tan CC+ Cream, and #4 is for the set in Rich. I’ll be adding in the Brow Power to one package only and a mini Bye Bye Pores Illumination Pressed Powder in Radiant Translucent to another package. It’s just a tiny giveaway but it’s still going to be fun.

Enter through July 2nd at 11:59 p.m. Remember you MUST be a subscriber to Beauty Info Zone and comment. That’s not so hard yet too many people don’t do it and get eliminated (and some over and over). Good luck. — Marcia

Pop Beauty knows how to have fun with cosmetics

We’ve reviewed Pop Beauty in the past and have always found that it’s a line that is for those who love to have fun with makeup. They have some beautiful cosmetics and they also have some funky cosmetics. They really mix things up. It’s not a line for everyone but it is a line that is reasonably priced and has great colors that are beautifully pigment. For the spring/summer they’ve created a line of products that are perfect for parties and music festivals.

Today we’re all about their Prismatic Pop Illuminating Powders and their liquid glitter eyeshadows, Flashshadow.

LISA LOVES POP BEAUTY PRISMATIC POP ILLUMINATING POWDERS:

pop beauty’s Prismatic Pop Illuminating Powders

Marcia previously reviewed four of pop beauty’s Prismatic Pop Illuminating Powders ($12) – Celestial Light, Lunar Light, Stellar Light, and Gilded Light. These beauties are fabulous powder highlighters that give skin a gorgeous glow.

pop beauty Prismatic Pop Illuminating Powders.

Prismatic Pop Illuminators also come in two more shades – one is a blush, Royal Rose, and the other is a blush/bronzer, Bronze Boom.

pop beauty’s Prismatic Pop Illuminating Powders in Royal Rose and Bronze Boom

Like the ‘Light’ highlighters, Royal Rose and Bronze Boom are very similar to much more expensive products – they have a very silky texture and don’t have any glittery fallout. The color is blendable and glowy. For $12 I think these are a total steal.

pop beauty’s Prismatic Pop Illuminating Powder in Bronze Boom

Royal Rose is more pink than rose and it really brightens up my complexion. Bronze Boom is a lovely bronze that looks amazing paired with Royal Rose. I like to put Royal Rose on the apple of my cheeks, then sweep Bronze Boom underneath to contour. It’s an awesome contrast that works great together.

MARCIA IS FASCINATED BY THE 4 FLASHSHADOW LIQUID EYESHADOWS:

I can’t say that I love these but I can say that I’m fascinated with Flashshadow. If I were 20 years younger I’d be wearing these for every outing that didn’t involve work. The 4 Flashshadow shades are pure glitter but they last and last. They aren’t going anywhere and there isn’t much fallout if you are careful about your application. They are probably the most fun eyeshadows I’ve tried in years.

POP Beauty Flashshadow Liquid Eyeshadows

The 4 shades are

Cosmic Confetti – Silver/ Multicolored glitter

Naked Glitz – Rose gold base with silver and gold glitters

POP Beauty Flashshadow Liquid Eyeshadows

Crushed Copper – Red/orange base with silver glitter

Black Dazzle – Black base with silver glitter

POP Beauty Flashshadows: Black Dazzle, Crushed Copper, Cosmic Confetti, Naked Glitz

Being a liquid eyeshadow they don’t drop glitter on your face. You have time to apply and smooth out and then just let it set. If you don’t rub your eyes they’ll last through any party. Of course they’ll need a dedicated eye makeup remover when the night has come to it’s end but even then they come off pretty easily. These are not your typical eyeshadows (obviously) but they are pretty interesting for those of you who love to shine!

For a wonderful glow that makes skin, eyes, and lips POP without breaking the bank, pop beauty is most definitely a line to check out! You can find pop beauty online on their website as well as in store at select Rite Aid, Walgreens and Duane Reade stores. Watch for a pop beauty giveaway on Beauty Info Zone for a slew of other fun and interesting products.

Goldilocks would love this: FACE atelier Ultra Bronzer

The winter months fly by and my skin just keeps getting lighter and lighter, paler and paler…so I am now reaching for bronzer to save me from looking sallow. Pale is great, but sallow is not. It’s amazing how a little bronzer in the right places perks my complexion right up and gives me an incredibly healthy glow. Lately I am loving the FACE atelier Ultra Bronzer ($36) for several reasons.

sample, affiliate links

FACE atelier Ultra Bronzer in Malibu

First, it’s super easy to use. I find some bronzers have a pigment problem – too little so it seems like they don’t do much; or too much so they end up looking frightening on me. Or, they just make my skin look dirty because they don’t buff out smoothly. The Ultra Bronzer is like Baby Bear’s bed in Goldilocks – just right! The perfect amount of pigment and it buffs in beautifully every time.

bluepencilinstitute.com

FACE atelier Ultra Bronzer in Malibu

FACE atelier Ultra Bronzer in Malibu

Second, this bronzer is really different – it has silicone in the formula, so it isn’t dry. This means the bronzer doesn’t settle into pores, it actually floats on top of skin. As I get older, these little strokes of genius become very important. Color that settles into pores emphasizes fine lines and wrinkles and ages me by years. I put this gorgeous bronzer on my cheeks, chin, and at my temples and I actually look younger and healthier.

Third, it also works as a contour. I’m having a real battle with my neck these days.  I don’t like the fact that my neck is drooping under my chin. Makes me want to wear a turtleneck up to my nose, you know??

oshawacenter.com

So I sweep my Ultra Bronzer under my cheekbones for definition there and then under my chin as a wonderful lighting/contour trick that instantly recedes that drooping neckline. It works for now while I save up for that platysmaplasty (that’s a neck lift, y’all. Just don’t tell my husband.)

Overall, the FACE atelier Ultra Bronzer is a beautiful, silky bronzer with an elegant, sophisticated formula that has me wanting all four shades available: brushed sable, malibu, brazilian blaze, and brushed sable. FACE atelier is sold at QVC and FACE atelier’s website.  – Lisa

Magical unicorn makeup! Lisa Frank x Glamour Dolls

Ok, how about a little fun color under that tree or in that stocking? I have just the line for you – Glamour Dolls. Fun and flirty, adorable packaging with cosmetics that really pack a punch. Everything is cruelty free and extremely affordable. What more could you ask for??

samples

The amazing artist Lisa Frank collection is beyond fabulous. Love, love, love! These make for incredible stocking stuffers. Check it out –

Go for eyes with a beautiful Lisa Frank Eyeshadow Brush ($4.99) that has the cutest unicorns ever as well as the Eyeshadow Single in Picnic ($7.99). The Eyeshadow Brush has Lisa’s signature magical creatures and Glamour Dolls added the synthetic cruelty-free hairs with the soft pink ombre ends. Total magic.  The Picnic Eyeshadow is really pretty – a shimmery peachy-pink that really brightens the eye. It’s a great all over lid shade or terrific for just the corners. Heck, I’d almost buy it just for the packaging!

The Angled Blush Brush ($4.99) is just as adorable as the Eyeshadow Brush – more unicorns!! Unicorns that help you highlight and contour and blush all day long. The synthetic cruelty-free hairs have a slanted shape making it easy to use on those cheekbones. The brush is soft but firm enough to grab product. I am really impressed, especially at this price point!

Pair this brush with the Lisa Frank Bitten and Bronzed Matte Bronzer ($4.99) for some beautifully glowing skin. It’s subtle, natural but healthy and glowing. Very, very nice!! And the baby tiger is adorable.

You could purchase every single item and spend under $25. These make terrific Secret Santa gifts and wonderful gifts for teens – or for yourself! The quality is really excellent. Take a look at Glamour Dolls online at glamourdollsmakeup.com.  – Lisa

Our cheeks are rockin and rolling with Eddie Funkhouser

Marcia has the pleasure of sharing the Ultra Intensity Cheek Colors

Eddie Funkhouser Ultra Intensity Blush

If you are in the mood for blushes that are soft as silk yet have pigment that goes on for miles then Eddie Funkhouser is your guy. He’s created 4 shades of blush and you’ll have trouble picking out just one, but at only $8.99 each you can splurge a bit so your cheeks will have a radiant flush.

Eddie Funkhouser Plum Crazy

Eddie Funkhouser Plum Crazy

Plum Crazy was the first one I tried of the four and I knew immediately it was a keeper. My personal photos didn’t turn out as accurate as I wish they had but this is a plum shade, not a purple shade. I consider it a cool color yet I wear browns on my eyes most of the time and it looks great. You probably have a dozen lip colors that work perfectly with this blush; I recommend Eddie’s Model Citizen since they make a banging combo.

Eddie Funkhouser Peep Show

Eddie Funkhouser Peep Show

Peep Show is my favorite but it’s making me cry right now as it broke and I now have a beautiful bright pink keyboard. While I lost a lot of it I’m going to try to piece it back together as the color makes me look radiant and healthy.

Eddie Funkhouser Plum Crazy and Peep Show

Peep Show is for those of us who love cool tones on our cheeks. If that’s you, I promise you won’t be sorry.

Eddie Funkhouser Sidestreet Blossom

Eddie Funkhouser Sidestreet Blossom

Eddie didn’t forget about the warm tones and that’s where Sidestreet Blossom comes in. This beauty is a warm peach with some pink undertones. For me Sidestreet Blossom is a universal go to. It’s got enough pink in it to keep my rosy cheeks happy yet it’s perfect for the neutral eyes and lips I wear often. I like it with his Innuendo lipstick but for those who prefer darker shades I’d recommend Foxy Brown.

Eddie Funkhouser A Little Toasted

Eddie Funkhouser A Little Toasted

A Little Toasted has a name that describes it well. It’s like lightly toasted bread with some apricot jam on top. It’s warm but it’s not too warm, if that makes any sense.

Eddie Funkhouser A Little Toasted (top) and Sidestreet Blossom

You won’t go wrong with any of these silky blushes.

Lisa has the pleasure of sharing Ultra Definition Bronze & Sculpt Powder

Ultra Definition Bronze & Sculpt Powder

I love a good bronzer, especially one that I can use as a blush, a cheek contour, and even as an eyeshadow…and the Ultra Definition Bronze & Sculpt Powder, Pyramid Bronze does it all! This is a beautiful multi-purpose cheek powder that is a minimalist’s dream come true.

Ultra Definition Bronze & Sculpt Powder

Ultra Definition Bronze & Sculpt Powder

The formula is soft and satiny with just enough shimmer to give skin a lovely glow. Each stripe down is a beautiful shade – creamy white, soft tan, shimmery burgundy, shimmery mauve, and shimmery pink – that also make for lovely soft eyeshadow shades. Swirl a large brush over the whole brick and you get a wonderful bronzey shade that is great for a natural blush color, or swept over high points as a bronzer. Or you can concentrate brush strokes over the middle of the brick for use as a contour under cheekbones and under the chin.

Ultra Definition Bronze & Sculpt Powder

Ultra Definition Bronze & Sculpt Powder

Ultra Definition Bronze & Sculpt Powder is a lovely bronzer, blush, contour, highlighter, and a great eyeshadow palette in a pinch. This is definitely one to take traveling or to have in your office drawer!

Eddie Funkhouser never disappoints, and his cheek products are no exception. The formula is terrific, the price is right, the shades are beautiful, and they are so versatile. Way to go Eddie…our cheeks are rocking and rolling and it’s all thanks to you!!

Lisa’s top five favorite repurchases!

Lisa's Top Five RepurchasesI don’t just repurchase my most favorite items. I am a little OCD, so I’m always afraid of running out. I repurchase my favorites in bulk. So whatever I know I can’t live without, I simply make sure I will never have to!! I have at least three or four extras waiting in the wings at all times. Here are my top five repurchases that have lots of brothers and sisters waiting their turn on my shelves.

Paula's Choice Gentle Touch Makeup Remover

Paula’s Choice Gentle Touch Makeup Remover

  1.  Paula’s Choice Gentle Touch Makeup Remover ($16):  This is the very best makeup remover I have ever tried and I buy this four bottles at a time whenever there is a sale. I usually wear full coverage foundation and my skin tends to break out especially in my t-zone. So I take cleansing very seriously, and the first step is always makeup remover. This dual-phase liquid makeup remover needs to be shaken first. After squirting some onto a cleansing pad you wipe off makeup prior to cleansing. It removes everything, even waterproof mascara and the most tenacious lipstick. It’s completely safe to use on eyes, and it leaves skin feeling moist and hydrated but not oily or greasy.

    Creation Pharm Jewelweed Topical Mist

    Creation Pharm Jewelweed Topical Mist

  2. Creation Pharm Jewelweed Topical Mist ($12.95) Creation Pharm has a store in Traverse City,Michigan and you can find the line in person in lots of cool little stores all over Michigan. They have amazing soaps, oils, tanning lotions, bath products, and skin care. Jewelweed Topical Mist keeps my skin clear and is the best thing I’ve ever tried for keeping blackheads and acne at bay. It also clears up just about any other sort of skin condition you can think of – any itchy, rashy skin like Poison Ivy, Poison Oak, food allergies, and even bug bites. My brother was playing softball and he accidentally grabbed some knee pads that had mold in them. During the game, he slid into home and scratched up his leg. Two days later he had the most horrible infection in his leg, and after three weeks of treatment by doctors it was just getting worse. I gave him my precious bottle of Jewelweed Topical Mist and his leg immediately began to heal. Three days later it was all cleared up. He won’t give me back my bottle. I guess I can’t really blame him. The ingredients in this secret weapon include extracts of Jewelweed, White Oak Bark, Comfrey Leaf, Witch Hazel and Aloe. Native Americans used Jewelweed because it has a natural antihistamine in it that is very quick and totally effective. I use my Jewelweed Topical Mist for so many things that I always have extras on hand.  My son has very sensitive skin that will get itchy for seemingly no reason, my husband gets welts on his skin from heat rash, and my daughter is always getting scraped up. Jewelweed Topical Mist takes care of all those issues, plus it truly is the best toner I have ever used.

Dan Read Cosmetics Silver Screen Foundation

Dan Read Cosmetics Silver Screen Foundation

  3. Dan Read Cosmetics Silver Screen Foundation ($33.50) Dan Read Cosmetics is a fantastic niche boutique line with one of the best full coverage foundations available. This is a cream to powder foundation that is well-known among stage and film performers because it lasts through anything. It’s bulletproof. Hot lights, wet weather, long workouts – this foundation holds up like a champ. It corrects uneven skin tone, dark under eye circles, red areas, any problem you’ve got, and it looks natural. It is extremely pigmented so you don’t even need a separate concealer. I always have four shades – my winter color is Soft Ivory 3, which is my lightest shade. Natural 1 is my typical shade, and I use Natural 2 and Natural 3 when I faux tan. Silver Screen Foundation is available in a shimmer version that I also always have on hand. When I travel, this is the foundation I take with me every time.

    Guerlain Terracotta Spray

    Guerlain Terracotta Spray

  4. Guerlain Terracotta Spray ($64)  So, this is spendy, I know. But wow is it awesome. It’s not even perfect — the aerosol sometimes gets gummed up – but I have never gotten the same utterly fabulous bronzed glow with any other product, ever. It makes my skin look perfect. The spray is super light and the effect is freaking fantastic. This is a secret weapon that I am happy to share. Once you try this you will never ever want to be without it again. By the way, I honestly don’t find there to be much difference between the Light and Medium shades.

    Coconut Hut Coconut Oil

    Coconut Hut Coconut Oil

  5. Coconut Hut Coconut Oil in various scents ($17, coconuthutbeauty.com) I have slathered this body oil on for years and years…I remember I found it way back when I first discovered the Internet, so it’s been a while! I just love this little Hawaiian body product boutique. I get different scents all the time, but they are always some variation of coconut. Some of my all time favorites are Coconut Kanantik, Tahitian Black Coconut, and Beach Goddess, and I am currently loving the limited edition Hawaiian Tropics, a mix of coconut milk and dark tanning oil.

I’m so happy to share my top five repurchases with you!  I hope you find something that works for you…and I would love to know what your favorites are too!! – Lisa
