Two months of Boxycharm fun

During the winter holidays it was just too hard to fit in the fun items I’d been buying. Now that it’s calmed down I want to share two months worth of BOXYCHARM. It’s my favorite subscription and I always get my $21 worth. The main reason that I like to review subscriptions is so that you can get an idea of which one you’d want to buy. These two (December 2016 and January 2017) are prime examples of what Boxycharm offers. Be sure to read this whole review for a surprise….

DECEMBER BOX: “MAKEUP ON POINTE”

Boxycharm from December 2016

Boxycharm from December 2016

December 2016 Boxycharm contents

December 2016 Boxycharm contents

There were 3 versions of the December Boxycharm, below is what I received:

  • OFRA Long Lasting Liquid Lipstick in Napa Valley – $19.90
  • Pure Cosmetics Buff Collection Palette – $50
  • Butter London Nail Polish  in Ruby Murray – $15
  • The Original Mini MakeUp Eraser – $12
  • IBY Beauty Lip Liner in Rosebud –  $14
  • $111 total value

PURE COSMETICS BUFF COLLECTION PALETTE

This reminds me so much of Urban Decay’s Rose Gold palette and the rose gold one from Ulta. Since I have both of those already I’m debating whether to keep this or use it for an anniversary giveaway. It gets great reviews and the colors are beautiful.

BUTTER LONDON NAIL LACQUER in RUBY MURRAY

What’s not to love about butter LONDON? Fabulous brand and I haven’t had any new polishes from them in a long time. butter LONDON describes this as a deep berry cream.

I have the full size of this so I’m thrilled to have the mini especially for travel. The two sides are different textures and feel so good. Since it’s recommended to wash in the machine after each use it’s nice to have a second one. It does a great job especially if I have light makeup on.

OFRA LONG LASTING LIQUID LIPSTICK in NAPA VALLEY  & IBY BEAUTY LIP LINE in ROSEBUD

Ofra Long Lasting Lip in Napa Valley and IBY Beauty Rosebud Lipliner

Ofra Long Lasting Lip in Napa Valley and IBY Beauty Rosebud Lipliner

I haven’t used either of these mainly because the surprise is a giveaway at the end of this post. These aren’t my colors but my experience with both brands has been excellent. The look of the IBY Lipliner reminds me of Starlooks liners.

OFRA COSMETICS LONG WEAR LIQUID LIPSTICK in NAPA VALLEY

OFRA Cosmetics Napa Valley Long Wear Liquid Lipstick

OFRA Cosmetics Napa Valley Long Wear Liquid Lipstick

This is a beautiful purple that probably applies as a dark berry shade. Here’s what OFRA has to say about these lipsticks: “Our formula is a matte color formula but if you want to add some shine to your liquid lipstick try our revolutionary Lipgloss Stick. All shades contain antioxidants and Vitamin E while the formula provides a lightweight layer of lasting color to make you look stunning all day. Color will last in a perfect condition up to five hours without eating or drinking. For best results do not eat or drink for 15 minutes after applying. Please note that this is not a lip stain and does not dry completely but remains on your lips for hours!”

JANUARY BOXYCHARM: “AND THE CHARM AWARD GOES TO”

Boxycharm for January 2017

Boxycharm for January 2017

  • Vintage Cosmetics Illuminating Face Highlighter Duo Set –  $35
  • So Susan Fan Brush  –  $18.95
  • Pur Cosmetics Mineral Glow Bronzer  – $25
  • English Laundry Pour Femme Deluxe Roller Ball –  $25
  • Gorge Amazing Konjac Sponge  –  $18

VINTAGE COSMETICS ILLUMINATING FACE HIGHLIGHTER SET - in Rose Quartz/Chocolate Diamond

VINTAGE COSMETICS ILLUMINATING FACE HIGHLIGHTER SET – in Rose Quartz/Chocolate Diamond

Love this! I’m so happy this is in my possession now. I’ve heard some great things about Vintage Cosmetics and received another product from them in an earlier box but it came broken. This highlighting set is perfection. Not too dark, not too light.

VINTAGE COSMETICS ILLUMINATING FACE HIGHLIGHTER SET - in Rose Quartz/Chocolate Diamond plus So Susan Fan Brush

VINTAGE COSMETICS ILLUMINATING FACE HIGHLIGHTER SET – in Rose Quartz/Chocolate Diamond plus So Susan Fan Brush

This has shimmer so I will only be using this at night but it’s not glittery. I love the light pink especially and the chocolate will give some dimension to my face.

SO SUSAN FAN BRUSH This is a great brush for two of the products in this month’s box. It’s a thin brush so it applies the color lightly. So Susan is a cruelty free brand and this brush is made of nylon and taklon. In the giveaway I’ll be giving away a Bellapiere fan brush since I was so excited about the So Susan and Highlighter that I used it instantly.

PUR MINERAL GLOW BRONZER

Pur Mineral Glow Bronzer

Pur Mineral Glow Bronzer

It’s a pleasure to get a product from PUR, a brand I use often. This is a medium toned golden bronzer that’s infused with anti-oxidants. It’s the kind of bronzer than can be used year round. Since I don’t wear bronzer very often this is also going to be part of the giveaway.

GORGE, AMAZING KONJAC SPONGE

GORGE Amazing Konjac Sponge

GORGE Amazing Konjac Sponge

It’s always great to have a new Konjac Sponge since it’s an item you actually either use up or toss after a few months. It’s an exfoliating sponge that is deep cleansing and pH blanced. You can use it on face and body. I like keeping one in the shower especially for my body.

ENGLISH LAUNDRY, POUR FEMME DELUXE ROLLER BALL

English Laundry, Pour Femme Deluxe Roller Ball

English Laundry, Pour Femme Deluxe Roller Ball

If you are a regular reader of Beauty Info Zone then you know I don’t wear perfume. Sometimes I’m tempted but I’m happy with certain fragranced body oils and use those instead. Therefore this is part of the giveaway. It’s not only beautiful but English Laundry says it’s a classic scent that’s sophisticated while smelling fresh.  “Inspired by classic country gardens, English Laundry’s charming blend perfectly melds top notes of rose geranium with a backdrop of woody spicy and musky notes. Bright, enticing and elegant. Signature opens with quince, complimented by white chocolate and jasmine petals at the heart. For a purely peaceful scent, notes of orris roots, powdery musk and sensual woods have been composed at the base.

I like this subscription service so much that I recently paid up front for 6 months. That saved me $10 overall. I’m sure I’ll have 6 more months of fun before I have to make another decision. So what’s your opinion of these two Boxycharm sub boxes?  —  Marcia

GIVEAWAY INFORMATION: Here’s what will be in this giveaway for sure: *PUR Mineral Glow Bronzer (full size)  *BellaPiere Fan Brush   * English Laundry, Pour Femme Deluxe Roller Ball   *OFRA Napa Valley Liquid Lipstick  *IBY Beauty Rosebud Lipliner plus a variety of sample size items from other subscriptions that I purchase. Boxycharm October 2016

Boxycharm October 2016

Boxycharm October 2016

I’ve written about Boxycharm’s subscription many times and have determined that this is the one sub service that I can easily recommend to readers and friends. For $21 per month you receive full size products that are almost always cosmetics. This month’s box has a value of $119 so even if I don’t use 100% of it myself, I’m still ahead of the game.

The theme this month is Boxy Bazaar but in my eyes it’s Fall Bazaar since everything in this box reminds of fall shades. Three out of five of the items this month will remain home with me while two are going to be rehomed.
BRIGEO BLOW DRY PERFECTION HEAT PROTECTANT

BRIGEO BLOW DRY PERFECTION HEAT PROTECTANT

The only non-cosmetic item is BRIGEO BLOW DRY PERFECTION HEAT PROTECTANT ($24, 4 OZ). This will be sent to a close friend who absolutely adores Brigeo products and will be thrilled to receive this. It’s a weightless blow-dry finishing and heat protectant cream. Brigeo is a well loved brand in part because they contain no sulfates, silicones or parabens. I consider it very fragranced although I doubt others would. But I pick and choose my battles when it comes to fragranced products and this one isn’t winning my nose over. It sounds great though since it smooths hair, tames frizz, and enhances shine.

IBY Beauty Three's Company Trio Eye Shadow palette

IBY Beauty Three’s Company Trio Eye Shadow palette

My favorite product is from a brand that is new to me: IBY BEAUTY.  I’m always overjoyed when Boxycharm has eyeshadows in their boxes. Some of my most used palettes have come from Boxycharm. This full size palette, $19) is their Three’s Company Trio Eye Shadow palette and contains perfect fall shades: a shimmery highlighter, a metallic burnished copper, and a basic brown matte shade. It will be easy to do an eye look with these three plus they are a nice addition to my (not so) small eyeshadow collection. I haven’t used this yet because of a health problem but once I’m back to makeup, this goes on.

LUXIE BEAUTY EYE BLENDER BRUSHES

LUXIE BEAUTY EYE BLENDER BRUSHES

LUXIE BEAUTY EYE BLENDER BRUSHES

LUXIE BEAUTY EYE BLENDER BRUSHES

To help apply the eyeshadows is a trio of full size LUXIE BEAUTY EYE BLENDER BRUSHES. I’ve received a pretty pink brush from Luxie previously and have always liked them because they are super soft and cruelty free. This time they’ve collaborated with Boxycharm to bring us this collection of blending brushes ($36). With three brushes each can do their own job of blending and buffing. The 229 is going to help me the most since it’s sturdy and reminds me a little of MAC 217.

STARLOOKS ULTRA MATTE LIP PAINT in PIQUANT

 PIQUANT swatch

It’s not fall without a matte lip paint this year and that’s been fulfilled by STARLOOKS ULTRA MATTE LIP PAINT in PIQUANT ($19). There are 4 available shades with Piquant being the most mauve of the bunch. This will be rehomed in a future giveaway since I’m so picky about lip shades.  It looks beautiful though.

TEMPTU S/B BRONZE SHIMMER BRONZER

TEMPTU S/B BRONZE SHIMMER BRONZER

Last is a product I’d never have bought for myself but that I really appreciate having, TEMPTU S/B BRONZE SHIMMER BRONZER ($29.50). A tiny drop mixed into moisturizer or liquid foundation will give just enough glow and come in handy on my ghostliest days. For me it’s the perfect way to add bronze since I’m just not adept enough with a powder bronzer. This will last me for the rest of my life probably.

There were some variations and not everyone received the TEMPTU but the substitutions look fabulous (Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Bronzer, Cargo Beach Blush, or OFRA Beverly Hills Highlighter. If they’d given me a choice I’d have picked the OFRA but I’m very happy with the Temptu.
What do you think of this month’s subscription? Do you think this would work for you? —  Marcia

What’s in the September Boxycharm and what’s in our giveaway?

boxycharm-logo

Just in case you are tired of all the subscription box reviews this month I’ve added a giveaway with products that I won’t/can’t use from them. Boxycharm is my favorite of the 4 I buy and I’m thrilled to share the contents of this with you.

Boxycharm products for September 2016

Boxycharm products for September 2016

Boxycharm doesn’t skimp. They send full size items almost all the time and this month there are 5 full size winners. A Boxycharm subscription costs $21 per month but it’s always worth a lot more. This month’s box has a value of $111. If only my stocks did this well! I’ll share in alphabetical order so as not to play favorites.

butterLONDON Trend Nail Lacquer in Yummy Mummy ($15). As a nail polish afficionado I’m always happy to see them in my boxes. Yummy Mummy is described as a cool beige shimmering nail lacquer. I’m not sure if I can carry this color off. The thing it has going for it is that it’s a cool beige. I noticed that butterLONDON has changed the name (Trend Nail Lacquer) and I couldn’t find it online at Ulta or Sephora. butterLONDON’s website carries all the shades though.

butterLONDON Yummy Mummy

Hikari Cosmetics Eye Liner in Raven ($13) –  it’s a running joke with beauty blogs that they never want to see another black eyeliner again. After all how many can we have? The nice thing about this is that it’s a mechanical pencil so you can carry it around without a sharpener. Great for those office to dinner nights.

Hikari Cosmetics Raven Eye Liner

Hikari Cosmetics Raven Eye Liner

Project Beauty Hairgurt ($11) is a smoothing yogurt hair masque. It contains yogurt protein, prebiotics, quinoa, a botanical oil blend and bio-keratin. The fragrance is Strawberry Banana. It sounds and smells like a smoothie. It’s the kind of hair masque that I’ll save for a spa day since it’s to be used after shampoo. You apply it from roots to ends and wash it out 5 to 10 minutes later. I’m overdue for a masque treatment so this will come in handy. I just hope I don’t go eat something while it’s working its magic on my hair.

Project Beauty Hairgurt in Strawberry Banana

Pur Cosmetics Lip Lure in Graceful ($22) is already a favorite. Lip Lures are a liquid lipstick that aren’t matte nor are they glossy. They hit that middle ground perfectly by being moisturizing and rich in pigment. I love the applicator since the color comes out like a showerhead and then smoothes on gracefully. I totally forgot I owned Graceful or I’d have saved it for a giveaway but now I’ll have a purse one and a vanity one. Graceful is a dark nude.

Studio Makeup “On The Go” Palette ($49.95) – how can a full size palette of 9 neutral eyeshadows be anything but great for most of us! The nude trend isn’t going anywhere. Even if you are a bright eye makeup person there’s always a need for some neutrals. The shades in this palette are a mix of matte and shimmer shadows. The shimmer are of course my favorites but I will get use out of all these shades. It’s a sturdy black cardboard palette that’s heavily magnetized so it won’t open when you are on the go.

I hope you can see why BOXYCHARM is my favorite of all the subscriptions. It’s always a value and I’ve found some fabulous products from it. If I had to stop the flow of money, I’d still keep Boxycharm.  — Marcia

Making waves with Modern Merbabe the Boxycharm July box

Boxycharm for July 2016

Boxycharm for July 2016

I’m sure you’ve heard of Boxycharm. It’s become my favorite subscription box and the July box shows me why this has made me so happy. Let me start by telling you that a subscription is $21 a month and you’ll receive only full size items. It can be 4 or 5 each month. This month the box has a value of $120. Not a bad investment at all.

Boxycharm for July 2016

Boxycharm for July 2016

As with all subscriptions you may not have bought the items to begin with so the value of $120 may be high but not worth it to you. For me this month’s Boxycharm is a winner and one I’m very excited about.

OFRA PROFESSIONAL MAGNETIC PALETTE AND 6 EYESHADOW PANS

OFRA Magnetic Palette and eyeshadows

OFRA Magnetic Palette and eyeshadows

How could I not be excited about this? I’ve been thinking of buying a new Z palette since mine are almost filled and I’d like to organize better. Not only do I not have to do that but I got 6 gorgeous shadows that would retail for $12 each on their own. These don’t have names imprinted on them and I can’t really tell from the OFRA website but there are 3 beautiful shimmer shadows and 3 mattes. All 6 are very workable shades with the shimmers and the light yellow shade (could be Banana Highlighter Powder) my favorites. They’ve valued this set at $59 but I think they undervalued it since the shadows alone would be $60.

OFRA eyeshadows

MALLY BEAUTY is included this month too and I got lucky. Some boxes received an Ice Blue Mally Waterproof Eyeliner pencil ($18) while others got one of two Mally Rounded Blender Brushes ($15). I love brushes so having this green metallic brush is a little piece of heaven.

The brush has longer hairs than my other blending brushes so it’s a great change of pace for me. Into my brush cups this went instantly.

To add to the thrill of this box there’s a NOYAH LIP GLOSS in Malbec ($16), a wine berry shade. I remember when Noyah only had lip balms and I lovingly reviewed them. It’s great to see how far they’ve come. This is a natural lip gloss made without made without sulfates, parabens or phtalates. The packaging is adorable with an earth friendly bamboo top.

To top off the beauty in this sweet box is PYT HAIR Oil Treatment ($30). While I’ve only used it once I was amazed at the shine I suddenly had from the treatment. It’s made with Argan Oil which I already know is great for my skin or hair. It’s safe for color treated hair and it helps leave hair frizz free.

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, Argania spinosa kernel oil, Fragrance (Lilial, D-Limonone, Hydroxycitronellal, Lyral, Geraniol, Citronellol, Coumarin), Triticum vulgare (Wheat) germ oil, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) seed oil, Panthenol.

I’m thrilled to learn about this new brand and use it in my routine.

Even though I don’t have a clue why this month’s Boxycharm is called Modern Merbaby (other than they do say “Let’s Make Waves”) I still think it’s one of the best I’ve received from my subscription. Now I can’t wait for another month to pass so I can get my next one. Are you a subscription box fan? — Marcia

Have fun in the sun with the June Boxycharm

boxycharm june box

I don’t know about you but I love going out to the mailbox to see what’s been delivered. Are there any of the magazines that I whiz through? Are there products from PR reps with items I’m looking forward to testing? Maybe there are some bills – no, I don’t love that! One of the best things for me is when one of the three subscription boxes I buy comes. Not all months are a success but the June Boxycharm happens to be a winner. The GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE SUN box is the perfect example of why I subscribed to this $21 a month bundle of fun.

Boxycharm June 2016

The 5 full size products are going to make summer a blast. Since I don’t know where to begin I’ll show you in alphabetical order.

COUGAR BEAUTY MINERAL FACE & BODY SHIMMER

Cougar Beauty

Cougar Beauty

Cougar Beauty Diamond Kiss

Cougar Beauty Diamond Kiss

Even someone as old as I am wants to make summer shinier every once in a while and this Cougar Beauty Diamond Kiss powder (full size, $16) is just the ticket. This is a light golden kiss of powder that you need to apply lightly with a fluffy brush. The bigger the area you want to shine, the bigger the brush. For me a small fluffy brush over my eye makeup can make my eyes shimmer. The powder is so finely milled that it’s not like big blobs of glitter. But it is shimmery. This was fun for me to find in the box because it’s not something I’d buy myself especially since it’s a UK brand not easily found here.

FARMACY HYDRATING COCONUT GEL MASK, BRIGHTENING

Farmacy Brightening Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask

Farmacy Brightening Hydrating Coconut Gel Mask

It’s no secret that I love facial masks. I review them all the time. Farmacy is a brand so many beauty bloggers have written about yet I haven’t had the chance to indulge in it. What better place to start but with a mask. These are available for sale in a box of 5 for $24, since there are 3 in the special Boxycharm box these are valued at $15. Now why is this brightening mask so good? Because it targets dark spots and freckles, both of which I’ve been ?blessed? with. Farmacy is a brand that uses naturally derived ingredients, is cruelty free and contains no parabens or formaldehyde.

This particular mask is powered by Echinacea Greenenvy, a variant of Echinacea Purpurea which contains the highest known concentration of blah blah blah. You don’t care about anything other than if it works though and this is exceptionally nice. 20-25 minutes of relaxation later and your skin looks more even.

GIRLACTIK PRECISE EYELINER MARKER in Black

Girlactik Precise Eyeliner Marker

Girlactik Precise Eyeliner Marker

Most beauty blogs I read (including mine) moan and groan when we get another black eyeliner in a beauty box. Even though this is black I have no intention of moaning or groaning. First I haven’t used Girlactik in a very long time, second I love liquid eyeliners, and third this is a great eyeliner. It doesn’t bleed on me and the formula is quite long lasting. The tip of this is perfect for me since I like a very thin defined line, especially with black. It’s possible to make it thicker but not my style. Girlactik is found in prestige drugstores like Duane Read and Rite Aid’s Beauty stores, none of which are near me. $20

LVX NAIL LACQUER in SERENE

LVX Serene Nail Lacquer

LVX Serene Nail Lacquer

I am most thrilled about this $18 polish in the subscription. My goal of trying every brand just got one step closer to reality. To make this more exciting this is one of LVX’s newest summer colors. Serene is a “whimsical sky blue” that is 7 free, high shine and a beautiful creme polish. I haven’t worn it yet but you better believe I will. This is lighter than my picture and just waiting for my nails.

OFRA OIL CONTROL PRESSED POWDER

OFRA Oil Control Pressed Powder

OFRA Oil Control Pressed Powder

While a pressed powder doesn’t look exciting, it’s a necessity so why not get a great one worth $39.95 in your $21 subscription? Boxycharm works with OFRA often but many times what I get is too dark for me. This powder on the other hand is just right. My blog partner Lisa would steal this from me if she had a chance since she’s addicted to oil free pressed powders and this one works like a charm, a boxycharm.

Boxycharm June 2016

Boxycharm June 2016

If you’ve read this far you can tell that this box is fantastic and I’m so happy it’s mine. Worth $109 it’s a steal for me. And I don’t have to give any away! I get to keep it all and use it happily.  — Marcia

If you don’t subscribe to Boxycharm, I think this is the best sub on the market personally. My affiliate code is HERE just in case you decide to take a chance. With Boxycharm you earn charms that help you “buy” extra products.

Subscription catchup with Ipsy, Sephora Play, and Boxycharm plus giveaway

Boxycharm, Sephora Play, and IPSY Glam Bag

Boxycharm, Sephora Play, and IPSY Glam Bag

At this point in my cosmetic life I’m the last person that should be buying monthly subscriptions but I can’t seem to stop. I’d say that I’m afraid to miss out on something great so each month I buy Ipsy ($10), Boxycharm ($21), and now I’m getting Play by Sephora ($10). That $41 goes into my makeup allowance for the month and I always seem to come out ahead.

Today is a quick rundown of what I’ve received in my last two month’s packages without a ton of detail. I’ve chosen the items I know I won’t use to put in a giveaway since not everyone is quite as nutsy as I am.

IPSY APRIL

IPSY Glam Bag for April 2016

IPSY Glam Bag for April 2016

April’s theme is Dreamers and to me its only the pretty cosmetic bag that fits in with that theme. In the package there’s a very pretty peach Elizabeth Mott blush in Peach Pink (giveaway). While I love the color, the packaging seems to be something you toss and put the blush into another palette. There’s also a Nomad mini eyeshadow in Desert Sand, a sparkly golden sand shade.

In addition there’s a Crown Tapered Duo Fiber Blush brush (giveaway), Tarte deluxe sample size Lipsurgence in Wonder (giveaway), and two Purlisse Sheet Masks. April was definitely worth the price of admission.

The May bag is titled Destination Chic and contains 5 items, 2 of which will be part of the giveaway. There’s a Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Almond Nude (giveaway), Smashbox X-Rated mini mascara (giveaway), Epice Hydrating Mask, Peek Nom Nom teensy tin of lip balm, and SLMISSGLAM small contour brush.  I’ll probably lose the Peek balm since it’s that small but I wanted to try it, I love masks so Epice is a keeper, and the brush is so soft that I want it!!

PLAY BY SEPHORA:

I think I’m in the minority about my feelings for the Sephora Play bag. Most people are thrilled by it but I was underwhelmed. The items aren’t bad, they just aren’t for me. The prettiest item in the bag is BITE Amuse Bouche Lipstick in KIMCHI. If I wore reds I’d be thrilled with it but instead it’s in the giveaway so someone else can enjoy it.

KORRES Wild Rose Advanced Brightening Sleeping Facial (giveaway), I love Korres but I don’t love rose scented items. Speaking of fragrance there’s a vial of Atelier Cologne in Orange Sanquine that sounds really nice (giveaway). The box also contains Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! deep conditioning mask (giveaway), a very thin Tarte Tarteist lipliner in Latergram, and a trio of sample sizes from Origins. The trio contains Maskimizer, a primer mist, Clear Improvement, a charcoal mask, and Drink Up Instensive, an overnight mask. I’ll continue with Play by Sephora to see if more items will appeal to me in the future.

BOXYCHARM APRIL

Boxycharm for April 2015

Boxycharm for April 2015

Sadly for me, happily for my winners, everything in this box is part of the giveaway. The products are nice but I am so overloaded with items that it’s hard to keep these and not share. Items include Blinc Black Lash Primer (full size $26), Purlisse Lip Comfort (full size $16), Anderson Lilley hand cream (full size $24), Ofra Long Lasting Lipstick ($19.90, full size) in Pasadena, Your Minerals Eyeshadow (full size, $21) in Brown Hypnotic.

I was most excited to see a box containing a Makeup Geek blush. Different boxes had different shades and I received Covet which I don’t own (full size $15). I have some MUG blushes but not in this beautiful new packaging.

Another favorite for me is the Pur Cosmetics Double Ego eyeliner. I use the brown one all the time. This time I received Bora Bora, a bright navy liquid and a blue gray pencil (full size $21). Boxes contained different shades. Catherine Malandrino Rome de Provence Deluxe Mini Sprayer ($20) (giveaway) is a nice change for a fragrance since it’s a spray that’s easier to use.

Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Pistache

Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Pistache

The Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Pistache will be part of the giveaway but that’s tugging at my heart. I just love the logo and I’ve been wanting a polish from them. But I know that it’s not a Marcia color (full size $10.50). Boo hoo.

What I am keeping though is The BrowGal by Tonya Crooks Clear Brow Gel (full size $20). I use brow gels but I usually toss them after about 4 months so having this one is great for me. I’m also looking forward to using the Starlooks Luxe Liner in Boxycharm, a great pinky peach shade (full size $19.50). The May Boxycharm is what I’ve come to expect from them. 6 full size items that are worth $100.50.

If you choose to join Ipsy or Boxycharm I’d appreciate it if you could use my referral so that I can get some credit towards future items. Thank you — Marcia

GIVEAWAY:  This is an international giveaway for 2 Beauty Info Zone subscribers. I have to say again (and again) that in order to be eligible to win you must be a proven subscriber and make a comment. Anything beyond that is extra to give you more chances to win. The comment is to list about 4-5 items you’d like to win (or you can mention things you wouldn’t want) since I haven’t divided these up and will do that once winners are chosen.

Rush to Relax with February’s Boxycharm

Boxycharm for February 2016

Boxycharm for February 2016

The subscription that I most look forward to each month is BOXYCHARM. There’s something refreshing about Boxycharm since the brands they share are more unique than other boxes plus there’s almost always 5-6 full size products in it for just $21 a month. Since I love to have giveaways on Beauty Info Zone, nothing ever goes to waste. For February they charmed me with a heart shaped product as well as 3 other full size items and 2 deluxe minis. According to my calculations this box is worth $134 so my money was spent wisely.

Rush to Relax is the theme “From Stilettos to slippers, get ready to work hard and rest easy!”. Let’s see if there’s a bit of rushing and relaxing here.

Spongelle You Have My Heart on a String

Spongelle You Have My Heart on a String

February is the heart month and I adore anything with hearts so this instantly brought a big smile to my face. Spongelle You Have My Heart on a String ($15) is a a body wash that is infused with hydrating olive oil and a blend of energizing and toning extracts. The fragrance is peony which Songelle says is both subtle yet energetic.

It’s two sided with the red soft side to be used for cleansing and toning while the white texturized side is for exfoliating and stimulating circulation. You should be able to get 14 uses out of this. I have a suction cup with two mini clips in my shower so with the rope this can be hung up so it won’t get ruined. RELAX in your shower or RUSH through it with this moisturizing wash.

Shray Ms. Amazing Facial Mask

Shray full face

Shray full face

Shray Ms. Amazing Facial Mask was made especially for Boxycharm so it’s a limited edition mask ($12 but their masks on their website are $10). This is a full face mask that is made to be ultra hydrating. Shray masks are 25% off until 3.15 with the code Boxycharm25% off. While I haven’t used this one yet it appears to be like a lot of masks I use and always like. This is a RELAXING 10 minute mask.

OFRA Cosmetics Banana Powder

OFRA Cosmetics Banana Powder

OFRA COSMETICS BANANA POWDER GODET ($12) is a new product for OFRA. This is the full size but in palette form. This is definitely in the RUSH category since this is an all-in-one powder. You can use it on your eyes as a light matte shade to brighten them. You can use this under your eyes to help conceal dark circles. And you can use this as a setting of finishing powder.

Realtree Travel Sprayer

Realtree Travel Sprayer

Realtree Eau de Parfum Travel Sprayer is 10 mL in a spray which is much easier to use than a sample vial. This is sold for $12.99 on the Realtree website. “Real Tree for Her opens up with the sweet taste of pomegranate, a hint of persimmon and an exotic scent of orchids. It blends with lotus blossom and champaca flower and it’s followed by the rich scent of amber, the transient scent of violets and the depth of mahogany wood.”

Freeze 24/7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum

Freeze 24/7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum

Freeze 24/7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum is the sample size of the box. The value of this is $58 since the full size is $115. I’ve got this in my travel bag for the trip I’m on as you read this and I hope to report back to you that it’s worth that amount. The eye serum is said to work on fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. Put it on and let it sit for 3 minutes before apply anything over it. I guess I’ll call this a RELAX but I’d still use it if I was in a RUSH.

Beauty for Real Blush + Glo in Coral Crush

Beauty for Real Blush + Glo in Coral Crush

I saved my favorite for last!! Beauty for Real Blush + Glo in Coral Crush ($24) is the winner of the box. As a huge fan of cream blushes this one is a winner. Not only is the Coral Crush side soft and pretty and peachy on me but the Hi-Beam highlighter end is subtle enough to give a radiant glow without sparkle. This is a cream to powder formula so it dries down.

To top it off Beauty for Real provided anti-aging benefits to this. “Featuring our patented ingredient, Luminera with a diamond core complex. As the transparent particles come into contact with the skin, the diamond core complex transforms invisible UV light and works to dramatically diminish the expression of wrinkles, discolorations, and imperfections. Vitamin E and grape-seed extracts provide anti-aging benefits and antioxidant protection. Pomegranate extracts along with organic minerals contribute to this standout formula to maintain its consistency in all climates and exceptionally long wear.” I don’t know whether this is RUSH or RELAX but I do know it’s pretty.

What do you think of BOXYCHARM? Are you as charmed by it as I am? Which items would you be most thrilled to see if you had this subscription?  — Marcia
