Two raves: Inglot Aquastic Cream eyeshadows and Beautylish customer service

Inglot Aquastic Cream Eye Shadows 17, 15, 14, 18

I’ve mentioned Inglot Aquastic Cream Eye Shadow so many times that you are either sick of them or curious about them. I hope it’s curious since I’m loving these and can’t get enough.

Let me start with a little story. I was shopping on Beautylish and wasn’t at free shipping yet. I hate paying for shipping to be honest but I don’t mind buying a little more to get to it. I noticed the Inglot Cream shadows and decided to buy one, #15 to be exact. I put in my new address, paid, and checked my email for my confirmation. It came – with my old address!! I instantly contacted Customer Service but since it was a weekend evening I had to wait for them to get back to me. In the meantime I got a notice that my package had quickly shipped – to my old address. When CS emailed me early Monday morning they were as nice as could be and tried to redirect my package. They were too late – but the CS went out of her way and called Fed Ex who was able to redirect. For that I’ll be ever grateful since other brands/companies were not that gracious.

Now back to these fabulous metallic cream shadows. After using #15 a few times I craved more so back to Beautylish I went and somehow three more ended in my cart. The only negative about this whole story is that no one has good swatches nor any descriptions of the shadows so it was blind guessing. Now though you’ll have descriptions of 4 at least.

All of these Inglot Cream Eyeshadows have a metallic finish – more metallic than any eyeshadows I’ve found. Since metallics are one of the trends of the year this make them even more fun – but I think I’d like them no matter what. I don’t need an eyeshadow primer with these because they act as the primer. I wear them alone or with powder eyeshadows and they last the entire day without one drop of fading or smudging. I like to blend these on my eye with a fluffy eyeshadow brush after applying some directly from the wand.

Inglot Aquatic Cream Shadow #15

Inglot Aquastic Cream Eye Shadow #15 is a gorgeous gold shade. It blends down beautifully on my lids to a soft gold that’s not brassy. There is no shimmer at all in #15 or any of these but there is shine galore.

Inglot Aquastic Cream Eye Shadow #15

Inglot Aquastic #18 and #14 are next. In the tube these look similar enough that I wondered if I’d made a mistake. But on the eye they are beautifully different and work amazingly well with my typical wardrobe of eyeshadows.

Inglot Aquastic #18

#18 is the lightest of the shades I have and looks like a silvery taupe on my eyes. It can add a lot of life to shadows in the gray family especially. #14 is a brown taupe that is close to perfection. 14 is the one that will end up getting used up first since it has a touch of gold, some taupe, some brown, and lots of shiny beautifulness.

Inglot Aquastic #14

The last one I bought is #17 which is the one I’m not sure about. I think I’m so used to neutrals that I’m not as comfortable in colors. #17 is a bright lavender with pink tones but I was expecting it to be more pink. I haven’t used this one enough to rate it but I do have shades it should work well with.

I still want more even though I know I don’t need them but just look at #12 with its gorgeous peach.

I just figure that my next order from Beautylish will end up with one more – you know to get to free shipping (wink wink).

I got lucky with the Beautylish Lucky Bag 2017

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2017

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2017

Once a year the webstore Beautylish has a secret sale for Lucky Bags. This is my third year buying this and it keeps getting better. The Lucky Bag is different for everyone lucky enough to be able to buy one. The typical bag is $75 and the only clue you get when buying is that the items are brands that Beautylish sells. Considering the quality that they cover, you can’t go wrong! This year they offered a $150 bag with the same amount of items but ones with a higher value. That went in a flash. I was on an early access list, went to buy the second I saw the bags were available but no luck with that. I’m not the least big unhappy though as you’ll see from my amazing bag.beautylish lucky bag 2017 tag

6 items, 6 top notch brands! $75 plus shipping = $198 in products that I’m so excited about.

BIODERMA MICELLAR WATER: ($6.90) I believe that everyone received the small size of Bioderma Micellar. Happily for me the one I received is Sensiblo H20 which is the one I use all the time. It never hurts to have a spare of this. 5 stars!!

JOEUR LONG WEAR LIP CREME in DULCE DE LECHE ($18): There are 26 shades of this liquid lipstick available at Beautylish so I consider myself extra lucky that I received a shade that I love. I’m always receiving dark lipsticks yet I really only wear MLBB or light shades. This matte pink (which I consider warm but they say is cool) is a perfect shade for me. It also gives me the chance to try this at last to see what I think.

Joeur Long Wear Liquid Lipstick – Dulce de Leche

I have always admired the Joeur matte lipsticks on others but never was sure if I should buy one. This has a caramel fragrance that lasts for a short while and doesn’t annoy me. My lips have to be well exfoliated to wear this but that’s not a problem. 4 stars! (fragrance removed one)beautylish lucky bag 2017 joeur lip collage

ORIBE DRY TEXTURING SPRAY ($22) – Believe it or not I’ve never used a product like this. I occasionally will use a dry shampoo and always like having one in the house. Ditto with a hair spray. But it’s rare that they get used. I saw this and thought of Lisa since she’d love this (“Bigger, better, full-on glamorous hair. This invisible dry hair spray builds in incredible volume and sexy texture. Patented polymers absorb oil at the roots, leaving you with just-styled hair for days (and nights).”). I’ll try it but I bet I end up giving it to my blog partner. 3 stars from me and surely 5 stars from Lisa.

SMITH & CULT NAILED LACQUER in LOVERS CREEP ($18): I can’t tell you how much I’ve wanted a Smith & Cult polish. I just never remembered to buy plus I couldn’t decide what color. Lovers Creep is a beautiful opaque bordeaux shade. I have a lot of polish to test but I just can’t wait to have the time to wear this.  Smith & Cult is “8-Free, Long Wear, High Shine & Smooth Coverage.” Definitely 5 stars.

NATASHA DENOUNA EYESHADOW PALETTE 5, PALETTE 13: ($48)  Well my heart skipped a beat when I saw the Natasha Denouna box. While palette 13 wouldn’t be one I’d pick to buy, it gives me the chance to try out her eyeshadows to see if I like them as much as her blush. Happily this doesn’t have the fragrance that the blush has. What it has is a duochrome green, a shimmery copper, and 3 matte shades that apply like butter.

I’m anxious to play around more with these shades. Flamingo is a great base shade with its touch of warm pink that doesn’t make me look like a flamingo. Sand Storm is very warm so I don’t think that it will get much use. Arizona is an easy to wear brown that can be built up. The prettiest shades are Pinja which looks green but reminds me of MAC Club with its green brown tone but with more oomph and Umber is an amazing golden copper. It’s a metallic shadow without visible shimmer. 4 Stars –  NO 5 stars, after all it is Natasha Denouna.

WAYNE GOSS OO BRUSH ($85): This originally was a limited edition brush but now it’s a permanent brush in the Wayne Goss Beautylish collection. It’s so magnificent that I don’t want to use it and get it dirty. How many times do I have the opportunity to have an $85 brush? Totally soft and luxurious. I’m overjoyed to have another Wayne Goss brush. I need to gather all the ones I have to review them for you.

Designed for a quick application with the softest finish. The large size is ideal for applying mineral or powder foundations—or any powder, bronzer, or blush—across the face. The tapered point lets you go into the eye area and do detailed highlighting work. The bristles measure 50mm in length, with a width of 20mm at it’s widest point. Hair Type: Goat. 100% cruelty free

I’m thrilled with my Lucky Bag and absolutely will be purchasing the 2018 bag. It’s been one of my favorite buys in a long time (and I’ve bought a lot). Have I tempted you? Would you spend $75 on a surprise bag?  —  Marcia

Bioderma’s 3 Micellar Water formulas wow me

Bioderma Micellar Waters

Bioderma Micellar Waters

You’ve probably read about Micellar Water many times but if you are like me then you don’t quite understand exactly what it is and how it does its magic. Without going into too much detail a micellar water contains micelle cleansing molecules that pull away dirt and oil. Put it on a disposable cotton pad and wipe your face with it. A good micellar water won’t feel tacky nor will it need rinsing. Your makeup will be removed without any harshness.

I’ve been a fan of Bioderma Micellar Water since Beautylish finally started carrying it. Up until these samples were sent, I only bought Sensibio H2O and I’ve bought a lot of it. I’ve been thrilled with the chance to learn about two other micelle solutions from Bioderma: Hydrabio H2O and Sebium H2O.

Bioderma Sensibio H20 Make-up removing micelle solution, sensitive skin

Bioderma Sensibio H20 Make-up removing micelle solution, sensitive skin

After having the chance to try all three I’ve realized that I made the right choice when I bought Sensibio H2O. It’s the one made for sensitive skin and the one that I personally think will suit almost everyone. This is fragrance free while the other two have a slight fragrance to them. It’s so gentle on my skin and removes my makeup well. I can use it on my eyes too but if I’ve got a lot of mascara on then I’m really better off using a separate eye makeup remover.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O (also known as Créaline H2O) is a no-rinse micellar cleanser and makeup remover specially formulated for sensitive, normal to dry skin types. It can even remove water-resistant face and eye makeup! A soothing emollient thanks to cucumber extract, it clears up irritated skin and produces a feeling of instant freshness. Fragrance-free, alcohol-free, paraben-free, and hypoallergenic.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O in 500 ml, 250 ml, and 100 ml

Bioderma Sensibio H2O in 500 ml, 250 ml, and 100 ml

How do you know if you have sensitive skin to choose Sensiblo H2O?  If your skin becomes dehydrated easily and that dryness leads to a tight feeling, that’s sensitive skin. Most of us think of sensitive skin as being reactive to ingredients, and it often is, but it’s also from dryness according to Bioderma. Sensibio products are suitable for all sensitive and reactive skin types.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O is available in 100ml, 250 ml, and 500 ml bottles. I’ve taken the 100 ml bottle on trips and I buy the 500 ml size for home use. Occasionally Beautylish will carry the 500 ml bottle with a pump top that makes it even easier to use.

Hydrabio H2O is also a great choice for me and the one I’ll use more this coming winter. It was created for sensitive, dehydrated skin. In the winter the elements make my skin even more dry and dehydrated so while this works well in summer, it’s going to be the perfect solution for winter.

What makes this a little different is that Hydrabio H2O contains Aquagenium , an exclusive biological patent retrains the skin to activate its natural moisturising capacities by stimulating the production of aquaporins, water channels in the skin, and retain the water it needs to be balanced.

Hydrabio H2O has a light fragrance to it. I don’t find it lingers and only notice it when I’m first using it for removal. It too is non-comedogenic, alcohol-free, and hypoallergenic. This is an excellent choice for fragile sensitive skin since it stimulates moisture.

The third choice is Sebium H2O, a micellar water that is recommended for combination or oily skin. If you have pores that become clogged or have breakouts you want Sebium H2O in your repertoire. It contains Fluidactiva patented sebo-correcting complex, it biologically regulates sebum quality to keep the pores from becoming clogged and clear up the skin.

Bioderma Sebium H2O

Bioderma Sebium H2O

Other ingredients that help purify skin and limit sebaceous secretion are zinc gluconate and copper sulphate. Sebioum H2O is hypoallergenic, paraben free, alcohol free, and soap free. There is no coloring in spite of the light blue shade. The light fragrance is a bit medicinal but it doesn’t linger.

Prices on the Bioderma Micellar Waters found at Beautylish are very reasonable with 100 ml costing $6.90, 250 ml costing $11.90, and 500 ml priced at $16.90. They aren’t refillable so I usually buy several at a time so that I have this on hand. Sensiblo H2O is definitely my favorite but what about you? Which one would you feel is best for your skintype?  —  Marcia

Beautylish Mystery Lucky Bag – I love it, would you? #luckybag2016

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2016

Beautylish Lucky Bag 2016

I’m sorry but you can’t have this so I apologize in advance but I’m so enamored with this Lucky Mystery Bag from Beautylish that I had to share it so you can take advantage of this next year.

In December 2015 I received an email from Beautylish that their Mystery Bag was on the way and to put my name on the waiting list. As soon as it became available to order I did so and this beautiful package arrived in early January. Beautylish does this once a year and the cost is $75 plus $5 shipping to the US. It’s available to other countries but the shipping charge would be higher. I first noticed this in 2014 and was sorry I hadn’t participated so last year I jumped on it and purchased the mystery bag (see my review here). Obviously I did again. I’m overjoyed with this purchase since my products are outstanding.

Beautylish Mystery Lucky Bag 2016

Beautylish Mystery Lucky Bag 2016

What makes this even more special is that everything in the package are new products that are for sale on Beautylish and other websites. It’s not outdated items, they are all things you’d buy in a heartbeat. I’ve seen a few blog posts on the bag and while no one received the same exact products, every one I read was wonderful.

This year’s Mystery Bags was called the Lucky Bag in honor of a Japanese New Year’s custom. Fukubukuro is a Japanese New Year custom in which merchants and retailers make grab bags filled with unknown random contents and sell them on a substantial discount. They’re called “lucky bags” or “mystery bags”.” My Lucky Bag has a value of $162 which is 2X what I paid.

What’s inside? Let’s start with BECCA OMBRE ROUGE EYESHADOW PALETTE ($40)

This is one of Becca’s most sought after eyeshadow palettes. The five coordinating shades are all warm colors. The texture of these shadows is phenomenal. I sent this to a good friend since it’s too warm for me and I could practically see her jumping up and down from afar.

KEVYN AUCOIN THE MATTE BRONZING VEIL in DESERT DAYS  ($48)

You are reading this from a very pale woman who rarely uses a bronzing powder but this is the exception to the rule. There are two shades of this incredibly silky bronzer and I’m so lucky that I received the lightest one. I can use this for the subtle type of contouring I like, a subtle bronzer, or a blush.

What makes this most exciting for me, besides the fact that I adore brushes and Wayne Goss brushes, is that I really wanted this brush. 05 was in their original set of brushes but they’ve revamped it and this is the new improved version. It’s a detail brush that works on lips and lids. I may have a ton of brushes but this is fabulous and I’m thrilled.

RMS BEAUTY LIP & SKIN BALM ($25)

rms beauty is a beauty lovers secret. It’s not a brand that’s talked about that often but it’s the real thing. It’s a cruelty free organic brand with the best products. I’m lusting after their Living Luminizer and one of these days I’ll take the plunge. The Lip & Skin Balm is available in two scents – Simply Vanilla and Simply Cocoa. I received Simply Vanilla which has a light vanilla scent. I love it. I wish it wasn’t a pot but I use it at home. “RMS Beauty Lip & Skin Balm is made of superior food-grade biologically active ingredients that support natural skin functions, giving you a visibly healthier appearance. Each ingredient in this must-have skin-rejuvenating formula has been carefully selected for its traditional healing abilities. Use regularly to heal, protect and hydrate skin, soften fine lines and give skin a smooth texture.”

BIODERMA SENSIBIO MICELLAR WATER (mini size $6.95) and IT COSMETICS HELLO LASHES MASCARA ($24)

Biorderma Sensibio Micellar Water and IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes

Biorderma Sensibio Micellar Water and IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes

As if the Lucky Mystery bag could get any better, there were two of my very favorite products in it. I’ve purchased both over and over. Having the travel size of the Bioderma Micellar Water is fabulous. I love this size for travel and for home use. And do I have to extol the virtues of IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes or have you heard me talk about it at least a dozen times before? These two are staples in my life and I am thrilled to find them in my bag.

The quality products that Beautylish sent are beyond my wildest dreams. It’s hard to put out $75+ and not know what you are getting but as you can see Beautylish came through. Sign up for Beautylish emails so that next December you can get on the list too. Which products in here would you be excited to own?  — Marcia

Beautylish Mystery Lucky Bag in Neutral revealed with a giveaway

Beautylish mystery Lucky Bag 2015

Beautylish mystery Lucky Bag 2015

I love surprises even if they do cost me $75. I’ve shopped at Beautylish many times and have always loved what I’ve bought there. The brands they carry are pretty amazing – Inglot, Charlotte Tilbury, Kevyn Aucoin and Wayne Goss brushes – just to name a few. When they offered a mystery bag with $150 worth of products I decided to take a chance on it. There were 3 available (Bold, Natural and MUA) and I wavered. By the time I chose there were only 2 left and I decided to take the safest route and ordered Natural.

Of the 6 products in my bag 5 hit the bulls eye both in quality and appropriateness. There’s one anomaly and that’s the giveaway item (saved for last). If you are a BIZ reader then you know I’d rather have eye makeup than anything else so when there were 3 items that fit that category I knew my money was well spent.

Kevyn Aucoin Eyeshadow Duo 210

Kevyn Aucoin Eyeshadow Duo 210

I haven’t had a new Kevyn Aucoin eyeshadow in ages so opening Duo 210 in Sugared Peach and Rust Brown Shimmer was a thrill. Eyeshadow! Kevyn Aucoin! Peach and brown! Can’t beat it. At $42 for a duo I knew my bag was a winner with the first product opened.

NUDESTIX Mascara

NUDESTIX Mascara

To go along with the great eyeshadow there is a NUDESTIX Mascara. I’ve been wanting to try NUDESTIX for a long time so this was a happy find. I haven’t used it since I have 3 open mascaras but I hope to love it and report back. This is a lash lengthening formula ($24) that is also a treatment mascara.

Wayne Goss brush 20

Wayne Goss brush 20

Wayne Goss brush 20

Wayne Goss brush 20

What could be better than a Wayne Goss brush? The only thing I can think of is that I don’t have this brush even though I do have a few Goss brushes. Brush 20 is designed with a tapered end for smudging. It is also great for defining anything from a cut crease to a modern soft smokey eye.  ($30) This is a very firm brush that’s still super soft. I have used it to smudge some eye crayons I’ve been wearing and it’s perfect for that. It’s also great for smudging along the lashline.

Bliss Body Butter in Blood Orange and White Pepper

Bliss Body Butter in Blood Orange and White Pepper

Unfortunately it can’t all be eyes but when it’s the Bliss Body Butter in Blood Orange and White Pepper ($29) that makes it okay. This is the only Bliss body product I’ve ever bought for myself so it’s a great find for me. I’m a citrus lady when it comes to products I use on my body and this is a scent I already know I like.

Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner

Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner

When I read this description of the Indie Lee CoQ-10 Toner ($32) I knew that it was meant to be: “An alcohol-free toner featuring CoQ10, a powerful antioxidant found naturally in almost every cell in the body. Aloe Vera and Hyaluronic acid provide added hydration and help balance the skin’s pH level. Ideal for normal to dry skin.” Aloe Vera and Hyaluronic acid are enough to get me wanting to use this. I’d never have bought it on my own so this adds something new to my skincare collection.

Lit Cosmetics Summer Sparkle Lit Kit

Lit Cosmetics Summer Sparkle Lit Kit

Now this is the only product that doesn’t fit in the “Natural” bag. Lit Cosmetics Summer Sparkle Lit Kit is not natural, no way Jose. Lit Cosmetics is for a different age bracket than Beauty Info Zone is in. I’m sure it’s wonderful since other reviews of Lit Cosmetics are mostly raves. But it’s not for me. This sells for $19.95 at Sephora, the kit is Hello Sunshine – soft creamy porcelain glitter w/ hints of orange sun bursts.

The total value of the Beautylish Lucky Mystery Bag that I received is $177 so they beat the promised value. Take away the $20 for the item I’m giving away and I still have $157 worth of wonders. Will I do this again next year when it’s offered? Absolutely. There’s no knowing what you’ll get (here’s Beauty by Krystal’s bag) but that’s the fun. — Marcia

GIVEAWAY INFORMATION – In this giveaway you’ll receive a black leatherlike Sephora cosmetic bag containing: Lit Cosmetics Summer Sparkle Lit Kit as seen above, a deluxe sample of Buxom Mascara sealed, deluxe sample of Dr Jart+ BB Cream, a sealed Blinc Mascara, NYX Butter Lip Balm in Marshmallow, NYC Lipstick in Sugar Plum plus more samples. The giveaway is for US and Canada and is open through Wednesday January 28th at 11:59 pm EST. Something for everyone and even better if you are a sparkle girl.
