Is the PopSugar Must Have box a must have? Read and find out!

I love the monthly subscription boxes. I have reviewed so many here on Beauty Info Zone and I continue to be fascinated with new ones. So far I’ve bought Glossybox, Birchbox, Beauty Bar Sample Society, My Glam, Julep Maven and Beauty Army. I’ve also reviewed BeautyBox5 and Conscious Box. To add to my collection I bought the PopSugar Must Have box for August. I didn’t have a clue what to expect. The website doesn’t give you much information. As a beauty blogger of course I was hoping to receive products in my particular niche but I did understand that this was a lifestyle box and I could be receiving just about anything.

A peek inside PopSugar Must Have

I’d say that last sentence pretty well describes what I got – just about anything. Actually it is a well conceived box of items for your whole life – eating, shopping, entertaining, looking your best (in several ways) and having a house that smells good. The box costs $35 though they did extend a $10 off coupon that I took advantage of at the time.

• Hand-selected items in beauty, fashion, home, fitness, and food

• Full-size products and premium items worth over $100

• Only $35 a month, with free shipping

Here are the items in my August box:

PopPhysique Original Butt DVD, Burn 500 Calories – this is great for those of you who exercise at home. PopPhysique is an exercise studio that also produces DVDs on what they teach. The set of 3 is sold on Amazon for $29.95 plus shipping.

Alora Diffuser in Isola– this is a beautiful clean cut diffuser that will last for months. To be honest I’ve never used a diffuser since I’m so careful about fragrance but I’m thinking I might go for it rather than gift it. I love the look of the bottle and I know it will fit in my guest bathroom. Isola is scented with gardenia, tuberose and fig. A 16 oz. bottle with sticks measures approximately 17 inches tall that  lasts 4-6 months costs $90 (including bottle, sticks and open wood cap).

Govino portable wine glasses–  contemporary glasses for outdoor entertaining. These are called wine glasses but they could be used for just about anything. There are 4 in a box and they are terrific. There’s a divot for your finger so it won’t slip out. These are perfect for sitting out on the deck and having something to drink. They even included 4 paper coasters and a 15% off coupon  for Benzinger Family Winery. The glasses sell for $12.95.

Pretzel Crisps– these are the snack to serve when using your Govino glasses I guess. I’m sure you’ve seen Pretzel Crisps in stores as they’ve become popular as a no fat snack. This is considered an extra in the box.

Baggu Bag– this perfect purse size bag (4 ½ inches square) unfolds to hold up to 50 pounds of your shopping purchases. Mine is a beautiful hot pink with white polka dots. It’s reusable and perfect for when you are out and about or on a trip. I love this and I’m thrilled to have it in my PopSugar Must Have box. These retail for $9 and come in so many pretty colors and patterns. Their website shows lots of fun goodies from them too. I could go nuts on their website!

Tatcha Blotting Papers– I’ve always wanted something from Tatcha and I love to have blotting papers so put them together in an attractive package and I’m happy. These are a Japanese brand that absorb oil extremely well. These cost $12 a package (score!!)

Sprout Skincare – there are two Sprout items in the box that are called Beauty Extras. Sprout Cleanser and Exfoliant in deluxe mini sizes. This is a US company that is made by “real people” (I love that they say that). Sprout’s Exfoliant is pure kitchen-cabinet awesomeness. From the company: ”We take organic oats and almonds, grind them until they’re not too rough but not too soft, add mineral-rich sea salt harvested from coasts nearby, and voila: a simple, nourishing, super-effective exfoliant that leaves your skin soft and glowing.” A full size of 4 ounces sells for $28. I can’t find the size on the bottle but my guess is 1 oz or more.

Sprout Exfoliant and Cleanser bottles

There’s also their cleanser which is made with Organic Rosewater, Organic Vegetable Glycerin and Organic Tea Tree Oil. A 4 oz. bottle is $24. Here’s the blurb: “When did scrubbing your face with harsh chemicals become the standard way to get clean? We think that’s weird. Next to rinsing with water, Sprout’s Cleanser is about as simple as you can get. It’s perfect for problem and sensitive skin. It’s gentle, non-drying, and contains no alcohol. Plus it smells awesome. We start with a traditional organic rosewater-and-glycerin base and add a tiny bit of organic tea tree oil. No soap, no alcohol, no para-sulfate-whatchamacallits.”  I love companies with a sense of fun and I think I’m going to love using these two products and learning more about Sprout.

One last goodie is a Bear Naked Granola package. I guess once you exercise your butt off and exfoliate your skin then you’ll be ready to be Bear Naked with this granola. They tell you that you can even eat it naked right out of the bag. If so please send a picture!!

I really like this subscription box. So much that I’ve ordered the September one at full price. At first I was disappointed because I like beauty and the July box pictures show some gorgeous polish and lipstick but once I analyzed it I realized that this is just fun. I can gift items from it or keep them myself. I more than got my money’s worth considering that the Alora Diffuser is worth $90 alone; my estimate is that PopSugar Must Have box contained $150 worth of product. This box really is a Must Have after all. — Marcia

  1. What fun to learn about these boxes. This one I’d definitely different. The price is high though to not know what you’ll get.

  2. That’s an impressive box!! I have had a couple of Alora diffusers in the past, and they are glorious (and so expensive), also everything that I have tried from Tatcha has been amazing– so those two things alone make this a lovely box!!!

  3. That seems to be a nice, eclectic box. But I think they are way over stating the diffuser is THAT much!!! =O

  4. Kim, I was the one that found the diffuser online and was shocked at the price. PopSugar didn’t have prices in the box. I can’t imagine a diffuser costing that much personally.

  5. I’ve already gifted the glasses and will soon be gifting the diffuser. I haven’t tried Tatcha before so I’ll be easing into it. I loved the $10 coupon too making it cost me $25 instead of the regular price.

  6. I love the diffuser, I NEED the DVD, and the food goodies are a nice touch. you’re right this does like a fun box!

  7. I like the diffuser and Sprout items, those items would be worthy of my $35 for sure!

  8. This is the first subscription box I am actually considering ordering. I love the variety of products, even if it’s not a ton of beauty products.

  9. That’s one impressive box. I’m shocked the diffuser is so expensive. I really like the glasses and the reusable bag. I may pick up the blotting papers out of curiousity, as I’ve seen them in a few Chapters-Indigo bookstores here.

  10. Iris, I was shocked at the cost of the diffuser but when I shop at Saks and Neiman I see things this expensive. My son appropriated the glasses for his hot tub! The reusable bag and the blotting papers are mine!!!!

  11. We’re realllly obsessed with Tatcha’s blotting papers. We’re actually giving away an entire Tatcha Ritual routine ($440 value) over on HauteTalk.com!

  12. I’ll be there to enter!!

  13. I like the valuable information you provide in your articles.
I’ll bookmark your blog and check again here frequently. I’m quite sure I
will learn many new stuff right here! Good luck for the next!
