You’ve heard about jojoba oil over and over again but do you really know what it is? It took The Jojoba Company sending me their 100% Natural Australian Jojoba Oil to really understand the ingredient. I knew it was good for my skin but there was so much more I didn’t know about.
Since we call it an oil and it looks like an oil we expect it to be an oil, but Jojoba is actually a wax that is similar to the wax esters that our skin and eyes produce. According to The Jojoba Company “That means that skin lets jojoba deliver its goodness all the way down to the cellular and matrix levels. It is naturally antibiotic, antiviral, antifungal, analgesic, anti-inflammatory and hypoallergenic. Jojoba also contains the healing vitamins A, D and E and Omega 6 and 9 essential fatty acids. Jojoba does not oxidize and is very stable.”
Companies use jojoba to help carry their other ingredients into the skin. This 100% Natural Australian Jojoba is the real thing though. 100% pure. The ingredients are pretty simple: Simmondsia Chiensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil. That’s it. This is grown on the the Jojoba Company’s farms in New South Wales.
This is perfect to have in your house, it sure is for me. It has a variety of uses and you’ll probably find even more.
1) Wrinkles and prevention of wrinkles: This can be used on young and old(er). If you are lucky enough not to have any wrinkles that have started then use this Jojoba on your face to prevent them. We lose moisture in our skin starting in our 20’s even if you have oily skin. Protecting your skin with this helps keep it supple. If you are already in the process of seeing wrinkles you want this so the jojoba will recreate the wax moisture barrier in skin, plump live skin cells, and smooth wrinkles.
2) Dry and sensitive skin often looks flaky and and dull but using The Jojoba Company’s Jojoba Oil helps add back in the natural moisture barrier.
3) Acne can be helped by this too even though it seems counterproductive. The Jojoba Company taught me that we break out from an over production of sebum. This gets the wax esters that are needed back in your skin to help with the irritation caused by blackheads, whiteheads and acne. “Jojoba kills the five major germs of skin including acne bacteria. Applied to active acne, it soothes painful areas, reduces inflammation and redness, enters the skin pore and kills the acne bacteria, then dissolves the sebum plug and gets sebum liquid and flowing again.” So this is great for spot treating.
Other uses are for rashes, burns, scars, and stretch marks (oy vey). I’ve used this on my hair to give it some shine and keep it from getting frizzy. Afterwards I rub it into my hands to keep my skin moist without any greasiness. Plus it’s great for cuticles. It’s pretty amazing stuff.
To make this particular Australian Jojoba even better the company is vegan friendly, gluten and dairy free, not tested on animals, has no PEGs or mineral oil or Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. And I’m thrilled to say it’s fragrance free so I have used this freely and happily. If that’s not enough the Jojoba Company is whale friendly. Many companies use Spermaceti which is harvested from Sperm Whales but using the Jojoba Company products you are helping whales swim freely.
If I sound excited about this, it’s because I am. It’s one of my favorite products lately and I’m enjoying using it. This price is perfect for 100% Natural Australian Jojoba at $14.95 for 30ml/1 fl oz. — Marcia
