Lisa and I chose the Oil Essential that sounded best for our particular needs. I had two reasons for choosing Sweet Almond & Macadamia. First is that this is in the PREVENT category and baby, I need to prevent everything bad at my age! Second though is that it sounded absolutely yummy. It’s a blend of sweet almond and macadamia nut oils that’s been crafted to prevent moisture loss in skin and hair. It’s been fortified with jojoba and meadowfoam sweet oils which are anti-inflammatory oils.

I love the smell which is more almond than anything else. If you are a fan of Amaretto then you’ll really love this. I don’t want to drink it though because it’s too precious for that. Instead I use it all over my body and to tame my hair. It’s a true multi-purpose product for me.

The Seabuckthorn Berry & Borage Oil appealed to me because it is all about NOURISHing the body.  Honestly I had even heard of Seabuckthorn before, and was happy to discover it’s a berry with excellent antioxidant powers and lots of vitamin A and E. Another ingredient that attracted me to this oil is the meadowfoam seed oil, a beautiful moisturizer that has worked well for me in the past.

Here are the benefits of using this according to Oil Essentials:

  • Sea buckthorn berry is a powerful anti-oxidant, rich in omegas and vitamins A and E, carotenes and flavonoids.
  • Borage oil is a rich source of gamma linolenic acid which helps restore the softness and moisture of dry skin, while helping fight inflammation.
  • High quantities of Vitamin C provide nourishing, revitalizing and restorative properties.
  • An excellent anti-aging oil for dry, dehydrated and damaged skin, it reduces the effect of UV damage, and fights free radicals while toning and firming the skin.
  • Boosts hydration, easily absorbed.
  • Adds shine and moisture to hair and scalp.

The ingredients include Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Diheptyl Succinate, Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Fragrance, Borago Officianalis (Borage) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), and Hippophae Rhamnoides (Sea Buckthorn) Oil.
