Whether you have aging skin like I do or just want to make sure your skin ages well like many in their 20’s and 30’s, Dermalogica Multipower Vitamin Serum is a skincare product that can help you. This is one of the products in the AGE Smart line from Dermalogica. These products are all meant to “to impact the biochemical reactions that trigger changes in aging skin to stop them before they start.” Your skin is changing all the time so you want to choose products that are going to be working hard for you.
I’ve been using Dermalogica’s Multipower Vitamin Serum for about 6 weeks now along with a variety of other skincare products. It’s made to be used day and night but I only use it during the day when I’m putting on my makeup. I’ve barely made a dent in the package since a little goes so far. It’s a creamy lotion with the most delicious citrus smell. The creaminess is just perfect since it’s not sticky in the least. It absorbs quickly and I don’t have to wait for it to dry before applying moisturizer.
One of my favorite things about this serum is that my foundation never balls up with this. It’s no fun to do your makeup and when you are done see that your foundation and skincare haven’t meshed and you’ve got little piles on your face. Multipower Vitamin Serum just sinks in and doesn’t start fighting with anything else.
I’m continuing the use of this since the results are great. I notice that my skin is brighter and even a little firmer. I haven’t had any reactions or breakouts (I’m knocking on wood, can you see me??). It’s a great product for your neck (and hands) since it helps protect those also against signs of aging like wrinkles, sun spots and dullness. Here’s what Dermalogica has to say about all the greatness built into this serum: An age-fighting serum containing micro encapsulated vitamins A, C and E to help increase skin recovery, decrease fine lines and age spots while defending against skin aging. Boost elasticity levels with a skin-strengthening protein peptide that overrides biochemical triggers that lead to skin aging. Formulated without artificial fragrances and colors.
Multivitamin Power Serum uses an ingredient called Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate (HPR), a retinoid ester which intercepts the earliest signs of aging, including photodamage. This is an ingredient that’s part of their next generation of effectiveness and potency. This and the other ingredients help deliver more stable actives and help the dosages get deeper into the skin where they can do the most good. *
While the price is high ($65 for 0.75 fl oz/22mL) I use so little that it hasn’t been a problem. When I worked at Ulta this was the brand that they used in their spas and now that I’ve had some experience with Dermalogica I can see why. It’s a great line for those of us who want to make sure that we do Age Smart. I only have one face to show to the world and I want it to look its youngest and best for many more years. — Marcia
