SuryaBrasil, a natural and organic line, has been a favorite company of mine for years thanks to their devotion to environmental preservation, animal welfare and environmental responsibility. I love their hair and body products, but never tried their nail polishes until recently. Marcia raved about two shades she loves from the Exotic Animals Collection, and after trying some myself I am joining her happy dance! (You can read her review of Peacock and Gold Faced Lion Tamarins HERE).samples
While Marcia’s colors were bright and bold, mine are just perfect for the coming of winter months. That’s one of the beauties of the Exotic Animals Nail Polish Collection – the 16 polishes ($12 each) are all vibrant but they cover a huge variety of shades that work for all seasons. The nail polishes are all vegan, certified 7-free, and absolutely not tested on animals – the animals are just pictured on the bottles!
Right now there is a cool special going on – buy a color polish from the collection, and get a free pair of Gold Grass Earrings. They are awfully pretty, aren’t they?
I tested three colors plus the Base Coat. The Base Coat looks like it would give nails a tint, but it doesn’t – it just evens out the surface so polish goes on evenly and lasts longer. There is also a top coat and an oil nail dryer available in the collection. I love the toucan on the bottle. The packaging for all the nail polishes is really adorable.
The Eclectus Parrot is a deep dark red shade, exactly the shade of red I look for at holiday time! I stay away from orangey reds or anything too bright. For whatever reason, when it’s cold out I want a deep, warm red that is festive, and this really fits the bill. The parrot is fantastic – he’s actually native from Indonesia and unfortunately is extinct in some areas.
I don’t usually go for brown shades on my nails, but I am totally digging the brown the Giant Anteater brings to my nails! I love this super shiny dark brown – hip and pretty all at the same time. And so is that Anteater!!
How amazing is this White Tiger ? There are only 500 of these beautiful creatures left on the earth. This matte white shade is very thick so be careful there isn’t too much on the brush when applying. It’s a great shade to have in your collection for nail art projects too.
There are many more gorgeous shades available representing other animals – head over to SuryaBrasil’s website suryabrasilproducts.com to take a look and find which animal speaks to you! – Lisa
