Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil – I’m mad about this!

Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil
Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil

I know exactly what attracted me to MAD HIPPIE ANTIOXIDANT FACIAL OIL. It’s the name. I love the name of this line. My dad was a “Mad Man” and we lived and breathed advertisements, commercials and PR in our house. We didn’t watch the TV shows as much as we watched and discussed the commercials on TV. I know my dad would be as impressed with Mad Hippie as I am.

When Mad Hippie offered to send one of their products I had a hard time deciding which to try but I’m in my oil phase of life and enjoying what they are doing for my skin. I’m so glad that this is what I chose because it’s a wonderful facial oil.

What makes this line unique, aside from its creative name and packaging, is that everything about the line is all-natural yet it has active ingredients that are fabulous for treating signs of aging (meaning what I live with), sun damage and environmental damage.

I’ve been using Mad Hippie Antioxidant Facial Oil as my night time moisturizer and my skin is lapping it up and thanking me. I’m probably using more than I need but I love the ingredients and want my skin to enjoy them too. I’m sure I could use this in the daytime with a lighter touch but at night I don’t have to worry about SPF or how something works with my foundation.

Camu Camu Berry – Amazonian berry with 30x the vitamin C of an orange.

Broccoli Extract – A recent study at John Hopkins found that broccoli extract applied topically reduced UV induced redness & inflammation by an average of 37%.  This is thought to be a result of the sulforaphane found in broccoli.

Raspberry Seed Extract – High in antioxidants such as vitamin E, vitamin A, and omega fatty acids 3 & 6, raspberry seed extract is also know for its anti-inflammatory and anti-septic qualities.  High in ellagic acid, a natural polyphenol, raspberry seed extract provides UV protective benefits, while protecting the skin from damaging free radicals.

The Antioxidant Facial Oil comes in a glass jar with a dropper. Now I’m the biggest klutz in the world and when I use this I pray I don’t drop it. I’ve broken way too many items lately. I’m sure though that it’s the freshest and most sanitary way to keep this oil so I’ll forgive them for the packaging. Or maybe they should forgive me for being a klutz.

This is preservative free and a very natural way to moisturize. The facial oil has a very mellow light citrus scent that’s a pleasure to smell as I’m applying it. I love the feel of this on my face at night and I love what it’s working at doing for my skin while I sleep. At $24.99 for the bottle I think the price is right on (as the mad hippies would say). You can find this for sale at the Mad Hippie website as well as on Amazon, VitaCost (20% off). some Whole Food markets, and more.

In the cold months I think I’ll add some into my moisturizer or use it under my moisturizer but for now it’s just me and the Mad Hippie and we’re a happy couple.

What Mad Hippie items have you used? I’d love to explore more of the line. — Marcia

Excellent review, Marcia! I love this oil, and am getting ready to write up my review soon! I agree with everything that you said about it. I do use it during the day and I find the trick is to warm it up in my hands and apply it to warm freshly washed skin– then there is no interference with makeup application because it sinks right in. Tis is such an effective and affordable oil! LOVE!

That’s so great to know, Marcia, that your dad was in advertising. Which agency? I worked for Y&R, Ogilvy and Ally & Gargano before I went out on my own. I agree with you on the positioning of this brand. I love the name, the packaging, and your review makes this a must try for me!

Thanks for the tip Lola. I’ll try that tomorrow. It’s such a great facial oil and my skin is loving it.

Allison, my dad owned his own advertising agency. My brother used to work for some of the big ones though like Campbell Ewald. He worked on automotive accounts mostly.

I too love this oil, too. I found it versatile and made something similar to CoverFX cover drops or whatever they are called with this Mad Hippie.

    Great review!

I’ve never heard of this brand, but I love the name, too! I’m all about oils right now. It’s kinda crazy how much my oily skin loves them! This is the first product I’ve heard of containing a broccoli extract. I wonder if it’ll be the new buzz!
