Sometimes I just take things for granted, for example thinking that I wrote about Geneva Naturals Skincare so that you’d know about this natural, well-priced line. And then I realize that I’m the only one who knows this since I forgot to tell you. Well the time has come to reveal the secrets of the two Geneva Naturals Skincare products that I’ve been using since October!
Geneva Naturals is a relatively new brand on the market and is sold on Amazon. There are 5 products in the line with the core of the line having 3: Advanced Vitamin C+E Serum, Advanced Anti-Aging Cream with SPF, and Advanced Anti-Aging Retinol Cream. I have the two creams and now I’m sorry I didn’t request the Serum when the company sent these for review.
Geneva Naturals was created in a collaboration with a leading Swiss dermatologist. Their mission is to offer natural, effective skincare that doesn’t break the bank. They use non-toxic ingredients to bring ageless beauty our way.
I’ve actually used this for a month at a time twice over the last 8 months. When I first received it I was using it right away but then in the craziness of my last broken leg I put it aside and only found it again in March. So I started using it again. Now I find myself reaching for it a few times a week, in between other skincare products.
Geneva Naturals Advanced Anti-Aging Facial Moisturizer ($19.99) is available in 2 versions with one being unscented. YEA for that option! The ingredients are pretty wonderful featuring “Edelweiss, a special anti-aging plant that grows in the Swiss Alps. Combined with Hyaluronic Acid, Coconut Oil, Moringa Oil and Vitamin E this day cream is specifically formulated to restore firmness and provide and every day protection from the sun for a more youthful and vibrant skin.”
Here’s what I learned about Edelweiss: it’s a short lived flower found in the Alps and it has natural levels of UV protection along high levels of Leontopodic Acids A and B for remarkable anti-inflammatory properties. There’s also natural sun protection in Coconut Oil so that when they combine these ingredients they end up with a powerful protective product. As you know (or should know by now) you need suncare protection every single day of the year. Now that the sun is out for longer periods of time it means you need to be even more careful than before.
Advanced Anti-Aging Cream with sunscreen SPF20 is a thick lotion that takes a few minutes to absorb. I have never found it interfered with my foundation which is important. Once something balls up … out it goes!
At night I switch to Geneva Naturals Anti-Aging Retinol Cream ($23.99). I don’t normally use retinol so I look for products that have fairly low doses of the ingredient. It’s perfect for me since I haven’t had any reaction to this anti-aging cream. It too uses Edelweiss extract to help stimulate cell regeneration and build collagen to diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and blemishes.
Retinol has many benefits including the fact that it can interrupt the free-radical damage process that causes wrinkling and aging signs. You aren’t ever too young or too old to add this into your skincare regimen since it increases collagen production, helps fade discoloration from sun damage and hopefully builds elastin.
The Retinol Cream has a thinner consistency than the Anti-Aging Cream and it does have a fragrance that is on the natural side and doesn’t linger long. This cream works particularly well with serums and even with added Hyaluronic Acid products.
All Geneva Naturals products are paraben-free, sulfate-free, phthalate-free & cruelty free. If you are looking for an affordable natural brand I recommend Geneva Naturals. You’ll feel like you are using a luxury brand and you’ll appreciate that the cost is one not normally associated with luxury. I’ve been very happy with my experiences with these products and plan to keep them in my routine. — Marcia
