Minerals Mate – the perfect tool and the perfect giveaway

You’ve possibly been seeing a lot lately on beauty blogs about a wonderful tool called Minerals Mate. This is finally being discovered by makeup aficionados and bloggers alike. In April 2011 I introduced you to the original version now called the Muddy Mate. I’ve used mine constantly since that time. Now I’m excited to show you the new and improved Minerals Mate.

Mineral makeup is a huge part of our lexicon now. But sometimes you just don’t want to deal with a mess that it might make. Minerals Mate was created to be the best friend of loose makeup. You put your loose shadows, blush or foundation in the wells and save yourself from mess and spills. It keeps your original product free from contamination too. I also use it as a mixing palette. I showed you my original one recently in a Dan Read review. I had used the well to mix the dark (pressed) eyeshadow with a sealer to create eyeliner. I use it to mix concealer with eye cream to get a creamier consistency too. I love Minerals Mate products for another reason, they are easy to clean. I usually just wash them off with my liquid soap but I can pop them in the top of my dishwasher too.

Molly, the creator, already had a great product when she developed Muddy Mate  but she felt that something was missing. So she created one with removable caps. This way you can save your creations for the next time. I’ve been using my new Mineral Mate tray with the OCC products I’ve been testing (review upcoming). It’s great to hold the eyeshadows and even better to mix Lip Tars. You can snap the lid on and save it for later use. If you are a klutz like me, you also save yourself from spilling disasters. Plus you don’t waste product. I use mine all the time for loose finishing powder.

The new Minerals Mate now comes in two patterns: Red at Play and Double Platinum. Both have three large wells and 4 smaller ones along with the 7 caps.
