Using a facial or eye mask has become a mission with me. I use masks at least twice a week mainly because I love the feel and the results. I’ve tried many different ones and haven’t found one I didn’t like but now I’ve found a company whose masks I L.O.V.E. WilmaSCHUMANN sent me a set of their Hydra Gel Masques and I’m crazy about them.
wilmaSCHUMANN has created 4 types of Hydra-Gel Masks, each with a different end goal. They target different problems and work to help hydrate your skin. I’ve got to tell you that these are the most relaxing and best fitting of any full face mask I’ve ever tried. I feel like I’m in a spa when I use these. A box of 4 of these beauties is $39 and oh so worth it to me. Each mask is loaded with Hyaluronic Acid along with ingredients for your specific needs. If you aren’t sure which mask would best suit you, try the Variety pack like I have and you’ll get to try all 4.
When you buy these you’ll receive a sturdy package that’s almost 8″x11″ and holds the 4 masks. Each mask is loaded with serum so they’ll never dry out before you can use them or when they are on your face.
The Hydra-Gel Green Treatment mask has Aloe Vera as one of the main ingredients.
When you use the green Aloe Vera masque you are helping to soothe and hydrate irritated or sensitive skin. Aloe Vera, Allantoin, Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid work together to calm your irritated or reddened skin and to provide mild hydration. While my skin isn’t really irritated I loved the soothing effect of this mask.
The mask is so easy to apply because it’s soft but sturdy enough get it on your face and rearrange it without going through gyrations of trying to get it on properly. It stays on well but I love to lay down and give myself a break for the 15 minutes it says to leave this on. The mask stays cool and hydrating the entire time. You could easily use it longer if you want. It doesn’t drip down your face and neck, it’s just cooling and luxurious feeling.
The beautiful hot pink one is their Red Wine Masque. Use the Red Wine masque to help you fight off free-radicals and damaged caused by sun, smoking or stress. It contains Resveratrol and other anti-oxidant ingredients that are especially good as a first line of defense against skin exposed to free radicals and environmental damage. While I don’t smoke and I don’t go out in the sun, I’m loaded with stress so having this mask will really help on the days when everything pops up and you don’t know which way to go.
The Key Ingredients in the Red Wine Masque are Aqua, Glycerin, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Allantoin, Methylparaben, Sodium Polyacrylate, Rosa Canina(Rose) Fruit Oil, Hyaluronic Acid.
The black wilmaSCHUMANN Hydra-Gel Masque is their Deep Sea Soil one. This is their nourishing mask which I’m saving for winter when my skin reacts to the cold outside air and the dry heat inside. The Deep Sea Soil mask is made to assist your skin in its natural repair process. It’s loaded with Allantoin, Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid so that you’ll be well hydrated. This is the mask that’s actually recommended for a more mature skin (ahem, could that be me??) or for skin that shows a lot of damage from environmental factors.
Key ingredients are Aqua, Glycerin, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Marine Soil, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Allantoin, Methylparaben, Sodium Polyacrylate, Rosa Canina(Rose) Fruit Oil, Hyaluronic Acid.
The last of the 4 masks in the variety pack is the Hydra-Gel Masque with Collagen. This baby is for hydration plus! Use this masque if you’re looking for deep hydration. The white collagen masks contains Collagen, Allantoin and Hyaluronic Acid to boost the moisture of your skin. Of all the masks in this set I’m sure this is the kit I’ll be buying. It’s great for dry skin or for use in colder or dryer climates. The Key Ingredients are Aqua, Glycerin, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Allantoin, Methylparaben, Sodium Polyacrylate, Rosa Canina(Rose) Fruit Oil, Hyaluronic Acid.
There are so many things to love about these masques. I especially like that they are soft and sturdy. I’ve had no problems with applying them and wearing them. I feel that the ingredients are the best. My skin is always soft and primed and ready to go after using one of these. There is a faint rose scent from natural rose water with them but it’s non-lingering and I barely notice it and don’t notice it one bit when the mask is removed.
wilmaSCHUMANN can be found online but it’s also carried at many CVS stores though I’ve never seen them. I put my zip code in the store finder and it came up with dozens of CVS stores as well as a spa that carries the brand. I know I’m anxious to try more from the line.
As if this isn’t long enough… let me tell you about the wilmaSCHUMANN Hydrating Facial Mist for quick hydration on-the-go that I was also sent. At first I thought this was for spraying on when the masque was on my face but the masques have plenty of serum.
The Hydrating Facial Mist is great when you need a quick pick up during the day. The spray is made to revitalize your skin and add anti-aging ingredients that help rehydrate when you need it. It’s particularly nice if you wear mineral makeup since you can spray it on and refresh the look so you don’t look so powdery through the day. It’s not meant to be shaken which of course I did the first time I used it. Instead just use it as it is so the mist is a mist and not a splash of product. It has a very subtle almost herbal fragrance and it’s refreshing and not sticky. (Key ingredients: Sodium PCA, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Juice, Echinacea Angustifolia (Echinacea) Flower Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Camelia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Pelargonium Graveolense (Geranium) Oil)
I hope you’ve gotten this far since I want to reiterate how much I like these products. Wilma Schumann has been in the skincare business for 30 years, mostly in Europe, and we’re lucky to have their expertise. Which masque appeals to you most? I love them all but the white collagen one wins for me. — Marcia
