Mud Masks of the Month from Shiny Leaf and 7th Heaven with a giveaway

Mud masks are one of the first ever masks used. Back in the days of Cleopatra mud masks were considered a cure all for whatever ailed you.

I have two different types of mud masks that I’ve been using and enjoying and I’m excited to be able to give one of our Beauty Info Zone readers a chance to try them both.

Let me start with the unusual – at least to me – Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask. Why is it unusual? It’s really a body mask and I haven’t used one of those before. Of course it can be used on your face too but it’s even better for your body. Here’s the routine

  1. Get a generous amount of the Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud mask and apply on the body.
  2. Apply on neck, arms, legs, and back until skin is evenly covered with the mud mask.
  3. Let product sit on the skin until it dries.
  4. Rinse with lukewarm water carefully and pat skin dry after rinsing.

If you are using this on your body then you want to be near your bath so that you can wash it away. Face or body also have a washcloth ready to help with rinsing. But why do you want to use this mask?

How about the fact that it exfoliates, deep cleanses, and detoxifies? If that’s not enough it helps with problem skin like pimples, acne, and blackheads. That stubborn backne that you hate? Have you tried a Dead Sea Mud Mask on it? Ask a loved one to help you out and try for yourself. Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask is 100% natural and it’s loaded with minerals. You are stimulating circulation with this mask on your face and/or body.

Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask

I’ve only used this on my face and the results have been great. My face feels smooth as can be afterwards and makeup applies more evenly. I find it to be hydrating instead of drying.

Shiny Leaf Dead Sea Mud Mask

Here are some bonuses … it’s made in the US with mud from the Dead Sea in Israel. This is 100% natural and free of all additives (contains minerals like calcium, magnesium, iodine, zinc, potassium and bromide, which are all good for the skin). Plus it works in just 10 to 15 minutes. And the price is only $12.71 for an 8.8 fl. oz. jar that’s made of plastic so no worries if your hands get slippery. So far I’ve gotten 4 uses from the jar and have over half left. This goes on so smoothly and while it dries down well it’s not stiff.

7TH HEAVEN CHARCOAL MASQUE is the second mud mask that you want to know about. I’ve reviewed a lot of different masks from 7th Heaven (also known as Montagne Jeunesse) and have always liked them. At $1.99 each these are great for several reasons besides their efficacy. 7th Heaven masks are great for travel since they are small enough that they take up virtually no room in your packing. When done, you can just toss it and not worry. If you’ve never tried a mask, mud or otherwise, it’s a great way to get into them and see if they are for you.

7th Heaven Charcoal Masque

This Charcoal Masque is especially great for combination and oily skin. While my skin is combo to dry I found this works perfectly on me to refresh my skin. I can’t tell you how much I hate seeing my pores but using this masque cleans them out making me happy again.

7th Heaven Charcoal Masque

7th Heaven Charcoal Masque – you can see the texture

The texture of 7th Heaven Charcoal Masque is different than Shiny Leaf. This is a heavier feeling mask that contains Charcoal Powder (helps absorb oil and impurities), Ground Black Lava, and Crushed Walnut Shell. You can feel the walnut shell, even though it’s ground finely, when you first apply the mask. But you won’t feel it once it’s on and it is gentle on your skin.

7th Heaven Charcoal Masque

This takes 20 – 25 minutes to completely dry and dry it does. You’ll feel your face getting stiff but it doesn’t crack and, other than looking ugly as sin, you can go about your business. My skin really glows after using this. I have been getting 2 uses out of each package though it’s meant for one use. I just don’t find that it makes a difference if I only use half a package. Have you ever been in Ulta with a coupon and you are just short of being able to use it? Go find this mask or another 7th Heaven mask and “spend” your money this way. You won’t be sorry!  —  Marcia
