For eyeshadow I’d start with one of the Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream shadows. Given the name you know that these are going to be great when it comes to beating the heat. Of the shades I have one of my favorites is #2 which is called Steel. It shows up as a pretty light steel with shimmer. Along with #2 I’d use #16 which is described as a pinky beige shimmer. On my skin it shows up very pink.
For an eyeliner I’ll also choose one of the Make Up for Ever Aqua Liners. Those have gotten me through a lot of hot flashes and moist summer days. One of my favorites is #6 which is a dark navy iridescent shade.
For eyebrows (since I’m working on remembering to do my eyebrows more often) I’ve got Tarte’s emphasEYES waterproof Amazon clay brow mousse in medium brown.
Since I no longer buy waterproof mascaras after an unfortunate incident where I lost a lot of eyelashes, the perfect solution is Anastasia’s Lash Genius Waterproof Topcoat. With Lash Genius you can use any mascara you like and top it with Lash Genius. It’s truly genius and it truly works.
The hardest part about doing a waterproof face is concealer and foundation. I have some longer wear foundations and supposedly products like Revlon Colorstay are supposed to last longer. ColorStay Whipped Crème Makeup is the one I own but if I wear it more than once a week it makes me break out. Other waterproof face products I know about are Make Up For Ever Full Cover Extreme Camouflage Cream for concealer and Face & Body Liquid Makeup. I don’t have either of those though. Tarte has a waterproof bronzer that could be used too.
For blush I really want to use Tarte Maracuja Cheek Tint. I bought it in Light Pink from their website in the fall but I can’t seem to find it on their website or any other. It really is waterproof but it’s not easy to use since it’s a cheek stain and it definitely stains. I have to work really fast when using it and it stains my finger. Maybe that’s why it doesn’t seem available to buy. But it’s perfect when you want something to last. It’s great too as a starter color in case you have blush fading problems. UPDATE: This cheek tint is available on the Sale page at Tarte for only $15. Thanks to a reader for updating me on this.
Another Tarte alternative though are their original Cheek Stains in the wide tube. They aren’t as long lasting but they do last well. My favorite one is the one they came out with for their anniversary called TEN.
Make Up For Ever has again come to my rescue with the incredible Aqua Rouge lip color. I have this in #15 Pink and it’s going to last on those days I need that waterproof addition. This two sided lip stain has the color on one end and the shiny gloss on the other.
While these are the choices I’ve made I think you could easily just go through the tarte and Make Up For Ever websites to find a lot of choices. I’d make a bet that the other Makeup Wars bloggers have done just that. To find out for sure, click on their icons and revel in their choices. — Marcia
