The latest lippie launch from Lipstick Queen is a stunning collection called The Metals ($24.00 each).
“Metallic accents are the easiest way to add a spark to your wardrobe. And now you can do the same with your lips! These lipsticks’ metallic element makes them mesmerizing and completely magnetic to the eye.” Poppy King
What makes these lipsticks different are the ultra-fine metallic pearls and high pigment levels that create a unique metallic effect. There are three shades available including Metal Nude, Metal Wine, and Metal Red. Lipstick Queen sent the BIZ Metal Nude and Metal Wine.
The Metals lipsticks are housed in appropriately metallic cases with bold red lettering. The texture of these lipsticks is wonderful – lots of pigment with a beautifully smooth application and no fragrance or taste. Both shades I tried have a wonderful metallic sheen that makes lips look lush. This is a long-wearing lipstick that lasts a good 6 hours on me. Because the formula includes vitamin E and apricot kernal oil, these lipsticks don’t dry out lips.
Rest assured, The Metals are not the frosted lipsticks we wore with abandon in the ’80’s…they are a grown up gorgeous metallic. They apply like a cream lipstick, look like a shimmer lipstick, and wear like a matte lipstick – pretty genius.
Metal Nude is a rose-gold metallic nude that leans a little peach on me. The metallic sheen keeps it from washing me out, making it a perfect laid back color that really brightens my look.
Metal Wine is a sophisticated yet easy to wear metallic deep burgundy. The golden metallic sheen makes it a wonderful warm color. If you don’t do reds, this is a great deeper shade that could be an excellent alternative.
Both Metal Nude and Metal Wine are wonderful day shades that easily become party shades with an extra coat. The satin finish is extremely comfortable and the shades are very flattering. Poppy King has done it again – these are must have lipsticks! – Lisa
