A few weeks ago, Beauty Info Zone reviewed Make Up For Ever’s fantastic addition to the long-lasting lip color club, the waterproof and kiss-proof Aqua Rouge ($24). You can read the review HERE. Lisa loved it because it lasts for hours, doesn’t dry out lips, and is available in so many amazing shades.
She found a perfect red in #8, Iconic Red, and an excellent neutral rose in #14, Light Rosewood. Let’s see what Lisa and Marcia think about two of Make Up For Ever’s lighter shades, #10 Raspberry and #15 Pink .
I am so impressed with the formula of this long-wearing lipstick. I have never found a long-wearing lippie that didn’t dry my lips out and look harsh and aging, so the Aqua Rouge is a real godsend for me. I loved the colors I tried for my last post (I still can’t believe I found a perfect red shade for me with Iconic Red!) so I was really anxious to try out Raspberry, also known as #10.
Raspberry is the perfect name for this shade. It looks darker and more red on the applicator than it applies on the lips.
You definitely want to start in the middle of your lip and work outward with the applicator, otherwise you can get too much product on the lip line.
Raspberry (#10) applies matte, but gets a high shine from the clear gloss. I love how the gloss isn’t sticky at all, it gives the nicest slip to your lips and makes wearing this lip product extremely comfortable.

I absolutely love this color. It’s soft enough for my thin lips, yet deep enough to look a little dressy.
While it’s very, very close, I would have to say that of all three of my Aqua Rouge shades I love Raspberry the most. Make Up For Ever, you have done it again!!
Something interesting happened when I starting wearing Make Up For Ever’s Aqua Rouge in #15 – it lasted! Something else interesting happened – it didn’t wear off unevenly. Plus one more thing that happened, it wasn’t drying. This is just about miraculous. I never find this to happen with a long wear lipstick.
I read Lisa’s previous review rave about these liquid lipcolors so I was gung ho to try one out. I prefer lighter shades of lipsticks and Aqua Rouge 15 (Pink) is on the verge of being a little dark, but not dark enough to scare me away. This shade is their true pink shade, it’s not a baby doll pink at all. It’s the pink you see in magazines when they talk about wearing a pink lipstick.
What I find out of the ordinary about this formula is that if I wear it matte (just the color side) it looks lighter than when I apply the gloss. I love though how the gloss brightens up the color and makes my lips look so much more luscious. The color side gives a stain to my lips that lasts longer than any other I’ve tried while the gloss softens the feel of it so that it’s comfortable to wear.
Everything Make Up For Ever tells us about these liquid lip colors proves to be true – smudge-proof (check), doesn’t transfer or fade (check), intensely pigmented (check), opaque color with extreme shine (check), non-sticky texture (check) and comfortable wear (check). I don’t think you can go wrong when a lipcolor checks off every quality you can think of. It’s time for you to start making a checklist of which shades you are interested in. Raspberry and Pink make a good start to this list.
These are a Sephora exclusive. Time to make your list!!
