I recently reviewed the very beautiful butter LONDON Lolly Brights nail lacquers in Stroppy and Lolly. In that collection butter LONDON also has some beautiful cosmetics including lip glosses, eye pencils, mascara, cream blush and cream eyeshadow. If you want bright then this is the place to go. Beside the two nail polishes I was sent the 3 LIPPY Sheer Lip Glosses so we both could see just how beautiful they are.
butter LONDON has come a long way with their glosses. When they first came out they created some beautiful shades but the glosses were strongly scented and extremely sticky. They changed the formula and what you’ll find now with all to these are moisturizing glosses that have a light sweet scent that doesn’t last.
Imagine my delight when I saw how the glosses matched the polishes. Twee is reminiscent of Lolly aka Disco Biscuit, Chuffed is another of the beautiful metallic nail lacquers in the collection and Stroppy is … well Stroppy. All three of these are sheer glosses but can be worn alone as well as over a lipstick.
Twee is named after one of the original Jelly polishes from butter LONDON. It’s a sheer magenta that has teeny weeny bits of shimmer that shine but don’t feel harsh.
Stroppy is the sheerest of the group. For me this is best to apply over a lipstick. With this almost radiant orchid shade you can cool down a warm lipstick or intensify the coolness of a cool one. It’s super shiny.
Chuffed is considered a tangerine. It’s a very easy to wear color even if you are afraid of this color family. Because of its sheerness it doesn’t impart a scary orangey color. Even though Radiant Orchid was named the Pantone Color of the Year, I’m finding that I’m seeing this type of tangerine/coral/orange shade just about everywhere.
You can find these glosses ($20) at Ulta, butterlondon.com, and macys.com. Have some fun this summer with these LIPPY Sheers and the Lolly Brights collection; I certainly am and will continue to do so. — Marcia
