YBF – your lips’ best friend

My newest skincare find has a very appropriate name, or acronym of a name. It’s YBF which stands for Your Best Face. YBF is the collaboration of two interesting minds: Darrell Owens the principal formulator and Kimberley Fristed the beauty behind the scenes. Their dream was to create a skincare line that was the absolute best in anti-aging. Their goal was to use technology to create formulas that aren’t thick or heavy but ones that are deeply concentrated lightweight formulas to help us grow old gracefully.

I’ve been using several of their products and today I’m sharing the ones that have been helping my lips. Getting old sucks – truly – it sucks the moisture out of your (or my) lips. Even Angelina will one day not have the same smooth lips she now has. Softer looking lips look fuller and smoother. YBF Define is a lip care anti-age creation that helps brighten and contour your lips for a more pronounced fullness. It can be used day or night. You just take a small amount and massage it into your lips. This isn’t a stinging plumper, it’s a cream that’s loaded with botanicals and peptides to improve the quality of your lips. I prefer to use it during the day since it brings some natural color to my lips but it doesn’t sting like lip plumpers do. There is a slight mintiness to it. The first few days I used Define I had some peeling of my lips. I thought I was having a reaction to it but by the third day I realized I was just sloughing off the dead skin. It wasn’t painful, my lips didn’t feel chapped; it was just a natural exfoliation. I now have none of that happening.

Here’s a before:

Here’s an after:

Quench is the name of YBF’s lip balm. It contains Vitamin E, meadowfoam and blueberry seed oils to improve fullness. After this harsh winter and the constantly changing temperatures I enjoy using Quench especially when I’m home and not in lipstick wearing mode. I keep it by my computer but I’d love to have more all over my house. This also has a light peppermint touch to it from the peppermint and clementine oils used in the formula. The tingle is slight for me, I only really notice it the first time I use it during the day. It doesn’t have a fragrance which is what I personally prefer. My husband has a bunch of Chapsticks around the house and I can’t tolerate the feel of them on my lips (no offense to anyone who likes them).  I love that there’s no greasy or waxy feeling when I use Quench.

YBF can be found on two websites: The Skincare Store and Truth in Aging. Both of these stores ship internationally.

I really need both of these products and I need to use them on a regular basis. I know I don’t take the best care of my lips compared to the rest of my skincare regimen but with YBF’s Define and Quench I’m definitely improving. It’s time for all of us to take as good care of our lips as we do our eyes and this is the perfect beginning. — Marcia

I love Define too Marcia, but I use it a night kind of as a lip ‘mask’. It really makes lips smooth and soft. I hate waxy thick lip balms too. I haven’t tried Quench, but it gets a lotta love and if it’s anything like the rest of the line, it’s fab.

These look interesting. I like the information cards they come with, what a great touch. My lips could use define for sure.

  5. [...] YBF Skincare Define and Quench  – Lisa and I agree wholeheartedly about the YBF brand. Absolutely everything I’ve tried is wonderful. For my top ten I’m picking Define and Quench for lips since both have helped me since I tend to ignore my lips when doing skincare. Whenever I use these YBF products I’m reminded of how great they are. [...]
