Supergoop: is it really that super?

I love the sun, but I don’t like wrinkles.  Or freckles.  Or hyperpigmentation.  Or worse.  But…I also don’t like stinky, thick, difficult-to-absorb SPF.  So what’s a girl to do?

The answer:  check out Supergoop!  I remember the first time I saw this line at Sephora, I was intrigued – what an unusual name.  What in world would make me want to buy goop, even if it’s super?  Well, when the goop is SPF, you definitely want something super…and this line delivers.

Supergoop Save Face AM Moisturizer

I don’t care what part of the world you live in, or what season it is – you need SPF.  However, no one needs an extra skin care step in the morning.  Save Face A.M. Moisturizer with Advanced UV Protection SPF 35+ ($28) is a multi-tasking product, providing excellent sun protection within a morning moisturizer.

I love the extremely sanitary top that dispenses a small amount of product – I find that I need about three pumps for my face and neck.  It’s a large bottle that lasts forever.  The lotion is medium weight, not sticky, and I can’t believe it but it soaks in quickly without leaving that awful white cast on the skin.

There are three main ingredients in this wonderful workhorse of a moisturizer:  Parsol, which provides long wavelength UVA rays; Blueberry Extract, which is an antioxident that improves the skin’s texture, elasticity, and smoothness; and Vitamin E which protects the skin from free radicals.

This moisturizer/SPF 35+ doesn’t smell and does a fantastic job of moisturizing the skin.  I truly love it.

There are a few other items that I highly recommend from Supergoop.  If you have dry, chapped lips, you for sure need to check out the Mint Fusion Lip Balm SPF 30 ($8.50).

Supergoop Mint Fusion Lip Balm SPF 30

Oh my, this stuff is…well…super!  It’s a fantastic gel-type lip balm that really protects the delicate lip area from the sun.  Protection from UVA and UVB comes from Parsol 1789 and Parsol SLX.  Octinoxate UV also protects the lips from short wavelength UVB rays, and lips are kept super soft and healthy with Shea Butter and Vitamins E and C.

I love the applicator for this lip balm, it makes applying very easy and convenient.

Here’s a swatch of the lip balm.  Looks sort of like thin Vaseline, doesn’t it?  It’s not icky-sticky like vaseline, though, it feels very soft and smooth on with no stickiness at all.  The mint gives your lips a slightly cool sensation at first application, which does fade away quickly.  The lip balm truly softens and protects, and it lasts quite a while for a lip balm.

Supergoop Sunscreen Swipe

And I always have a few Supergoop Sunscreen Swipes (box of 21 Swipes is $34) in my purse.  You never know when you might need a little extra sun protection, and if you have kids you will for sure find these indispensible.  They are paraben-free, sweat and water-resistant, and provide SPF 30+ protection.  In addition to the box of Swipes, the single packets are available in several different kits that are listed on the website.

Supergoop is super easy to find, it’s in larger stores like Sephora, Nordstrom, and Barneys, and you can also peruse the line and shop on the Supergoop website.  Don’t forget your sun protection, even if it’s the middle of winter where you live.  Supergoop makes being safe a beautiful thing.  – Lisa

I am SO GLAD you posted about this! I’m going to grab a pack of the wipes to keep with me for sunscreen touchups when I take the kids to Disney. Awesome!
