Purely Cosmetics and IT Cosmetics have some amazing powders

When pulling out powders for the latest edition of Top Ten Tuesday I found that everything I use is either from Purely Cosmetics or IT Cosmetics. I hadn’t thought about it before but all the other powders I have from Laura Mercier, Kevyn Aucoin, Scott Barnes, MAC Cosmetics, and more just sit waiting to be chosen. But when you find things you love, that’s what you use. These don’t add up to 10 but they are what gets used constantly and that’s more important than a number.
1432000173_makeup-wars-pores-powder-300x225PURELY COSMETICS DIAMOND PERFECT FINISH POWDER is my favorite finishing powder by far. I use this constantly. I finish nothing ever as far as cosmetics go but my current Diamond Powder is ready to say bye-bye but I will surely BUY BUY it again.I’ve been using this for years and plan on always using it. The packaging is ideal with a top that opens to get out the amount you desire plus you can close it up to prevent spilling. It costs $20 and will last you for years. No shimmer involved, just a soft diamond finish. *
1432001448_byebyepores_new2IT COSMETICS BYE BYE PORES SILK HD ANTI-AGING MICRO POWDER – I’m a huge IT Cosmetics fan obviously and this is my number 1 powder that they sell (and they have a lot of great powders). After I discovered IT Cosmetics this is the second product I bought from them (after Bye Bye Undereye) and I’ve rebought it several times. It keeps me shine free and gives me a more youthful appearance. It’s a Win-Win powder.
1431999940_goldpackagingPURELY COSMETICS SKIN SMOOTHING FOUNDATION and PURE MINERALS FOUNDATION – There are two formulas that are made by Purely Cosmetics. Both are wonderful and I recommend buying sample sizes of each. That way you can test the two products and check for your color.  Skin Smoothing Foundation is the newer of the two. It’s very hydrating because of the silk powder added to it. Plus it helps absorb oil, blur fine lines, nourish your skin (with jojoba) and reduce the look of your pores. It’s great for dry to slightly skin but not very oily skin. Pure Minerals Foundation is their original formula. It’s free of all chemicals and talc as is Skin Smoothing Foundation.  Pure Minerals Foundation is good for all skin types and especially so if you have acne or oily skin since nothing will clog your pores. And the nice thing is that you can add Silk Powder to it if you want. I have several shades in sample sizes which are perfect for finding that perfect match. *
1431999676_mac-blot-powderMAC BLOT POWDER used to always be in my Back2MAC pile since I used it exclusively for probably a dozen years. I always have one in my stash even though I don’t use it as often as I used to since discovering PC and IT. It’s the one MAC product I whole heartedly recommend when asked.
1431999578_it-hello-light-open-300x225IT COSMETICS HELLO LIGHT RADIANCE POWDER – A pressed powder that’s all sort of goodness. If you want that extra radiance to your complexion, this is the answer. As with all IT powders it’s finally milled and never looks powdery. It gives just a hint of glow but isn’t overpowering at all. I think this has been changed to the Illuminating Powder though. *
1431999502_it-cosmetics-new-year-collection13-1-290x300IT COSMETICS CELEBRATION FOUNDATION ILLUMINATION is actually one of two powder foundations from IT.  It’s hydrating, anti-aging, and gives just a subtle radiance. I prefer this to the original Celebration Foundation since it looks and feels more moisturizing.
1431999413_it-cosmetics-qvc-foundation-300x225IT COSMETICS CELEBRATION FOUNDATION is a more matte foundation with great coverage. It’s loaded with all the anti-aging ingredients that IT is known for. I wear this in Fair which is for the lightest skintones; it’s also available in Light, Medium, Rich and Tan. Mine is from a TSV (don’t miss their QVC specials!). *
1431999296_it-january-tsv-powder-compactIT FOUNDATIONS CC+ AIRBRUSH FOUNDATION is the newest powder foundation from IT. This too was part of a QVC TSV. It needs to be sold separately since it’s fabulous when used with their CC+ Cream.

Anything from IT Cosmetics is a winner in my book 🙂

  2. [email protected] | 19th May 15

I have the IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation also in Fair. I use it primarily for touch-ups or after I get my hair colored when I’m changing at the salon since I don’t wear makeup when I go there. Great list of powders. I would add my favorite, Maybelline Dream Powder, that is my HG setting powder 🙂

  3. Phyrra | 19th May 15

The Diamond Perfect is great! I love the It Cosmetics powders too.

  4. beautyin | 19th May 15

Allison, I rarely buy drugstore products since I’ve had so many bad ones but “if” I ever need one I’ll take your word on the Maybelline.

  5. Destany | 19th May 15

I so need to try IT Cosmetics!

  6. Cindy Ingalls | 19th May 15

It Cosmetics has such great products. They are really bringing it in the beauty department.

I love my IT powder foundations. I tried to get the pressed Bye-Bye powder from QVC, but wasn’t fast enough and got waitlisted. I’ve been using a NARS loose translucent powder that I like a lot, and lately, I was testing some cosmetics from Cuepido, and their setting powder is so nice, too! Kandy Johnson did a video where she used a beauty blender to apply not only her foundation, but also the powder, and I find that also works for me with these Cuepido products. I can also use a brush to buff it in or dust off the excess.

The Mac blot powder is always in my handbag, I don’t leave home without it.

  9. Chelsea | 19th May 15

I’ve really been wanting to try pretty much any IT products, but especially Bye Bye Pores!

  10. BeautyJudy | 19th May 15

One of my favorite powders is Ben Nye Cameo powder. It’s the sister of Banana Powder, which is also a favorite, but sometimes Cameo works better for me and helps tone down my foundation if it’s a tad too dark, and I have Buff, also, if it’s too light!

I’m so glad you did this. This is one area I’m seriously lacking in my collection. There are so many great options here, too

  12. Valerie C. | 19th May 15

I have tried (and loved) everything listed except Purely Cosmetics products. I plan on trying them soon. Thanks for the post!

  13. Retrodiva | 19th May 15

I really need to try It Cosmetics. I have several of their brushes and love them.

  14. Kath TheFabZilla | 20th May 15

It Cosmetics has been on my radar for a while now. I was bummed when my shade got sold out fast during that celebration deal (forgot the exact name of the set)

  15. Brooke @ Blushing Noir | 20th May 15

IT Cosmetics, PUR Minerals and MUFE hold all my faves!!

  16. The Style Page | 20th May 15

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores has got to be the most god-awful product I’ve ever used: too opaque. I did not use Marcia’s suggestion of using a fan brush. 🙁

  17. Aprill | 20th May 15

I love Purely Cosmetics Diamond powder!

  18. Kristina | The Feminine Files | 20th May 15

I have never heard of Purely Cosmetics, but I will have to browse their site! I love bareMinerals original loose powder foundation.

  19. Stephanie Telford | 20th May 15

It Cosmetics is definitely my favorite!

  20. Honeygirlk | 20th May 15

I always hear so many great things about It Cosmetics. That Purely Cosmetics Diamond Powder sounds nice.

  21. Justina | 20th May 15

It Cosmetics sells some of the best of everything!
