IT Cosmetics has made my day yet again. Their new Vitality Lip Flush Butter Glosses ($24) are beautiful, and they sent the BIZ several different shades to review. I have four shades for you today, and Marcia will be posting her review of the remaining later.
These buttery glosses are both pretty and functional. The glosses have a whole host of ingredients: hydrating anti-aging collagen, peptides, hylauronic acid, plum oil, cherry oil, shea butter, avocado oil, argan oil, and jojoba oil plus a plethora of antioxidants including Vitamins A, C, E, Acai, Green Tea and White Tea.
Vitality Lip Flush Butter Glosses bestow color, shine, and major hydration upon your lips.
I love the applicator, which is a play on the traditional doe foot sponge applicator. It is flexible, with a hole in the center. The soft but firm sponge picks up and applies color like a dream.
The gloss itself has a slight vanilla taste that is quite pleasant. The texture is somewhere between a gloss and a liquid lipstick. I find these glosses to be beautifully shiny, hydrating, and long wearing.
The colors are a collection of universally flattering nudes, pinks, and berries, plus one surprise: News Anchor Blue gloss, which is a lab sample. News Anchor Blue is a smaller size (o.16 oz, whereas the regular sized glosses are 0.11 oz.) and it is part of a Lip Butter Gloss Set sold on QVC.com.
News Anchor Blue is a sheer shimmery blue that is meant to brighten teeth. It goes on quite sheer and is lovely for those with pigmented lips.
It is pretty, natural look by itself, and it also layers beautifully over other colors to provide some shimmer and depth.
Joyful is a mauve pink without any shimmer. This one doesn’t have any bells or whistles, it’s just a great go-to color with lots of shine.
I love this color, it’s always perfect no matter what I am wearing or how dressed-up or dressed-down I am.
I Believe is a shimmery raspberry shade.
Based on how it looks in the tube, I was surprised at how I Believe goes on more sheer than I expected. The shimmer is very subtle, and it has amazing shine.
Ruby Slippers is a shimmery red.
Like most reds, this pulls pink on me, but I love it. Ruby Slippers is the most highly pigmented of the bunch and the wear is truly impressive for a gloss.
Overall, I am thrilled with my pink and berry shades plus the lab sample News Anchor Blue. My love affair with IT Cosmetics continues, their products just get better and better. Stay tuned for Marcia’s review of the nude shades plus one more pink shade, including Perfect Nude, Naturally Pretty, and Pretty in Pink. – Lisa
