For a while I wasn’t on the bandwagon for BCA products. I had very mixed feelings about companies that seemed to exploit the movement to sell. But that’s changed over the years as more people that I know have suffered with cancer of all types. I now believe that if we are going to buy something then it’s best to be able to contribute to cancer causes at the same time.
Two products that I was sent recently have come in very handy and donate to worthwhile causes. Theraband Kinesiology Tape came at a great time for the extra pains I’ve had associated with my broken foot plus pulled muscles from my fall. And Angelo David’s Pink Wet-&-Dry Brush has helped cheer me up when I’m feeling down. Both donate to breast cancer charities that I admire.
Let’s start with the helpful – Theraband Kinesiology Tape. If you’ve ever been to any rehab you’ll be family with Theraband since almost all use the original Therabands for exercise purposes. They are heavy rubber bands of different sizes and thickness that are used for stretching. Therabrand also makes different kinds of tapes for pain relief and muscle support. Unlike braces and other athletic tape, this one won’t restrict and actually encourages active muscle movement. XactStretch indicators show you exactly how much you should stretch the tape to make it effective, just like the professionals do.
The Kinesiology Tape comes in a roll with Pre-Cut Tapes that can be stretched to fit the area you need relief. Some ideas for use are Achilles, Ankle/Swelling, Knee, Lumbar, Neck, Postural Correction, Quad & Patellar, Shoulder, Star Pattern (Lower Back). I pulled a muscle in the back of my knee on one leg and scraped up my knee on the other and used this for my relief. Not sure how my husband will feel about this pretty bright pink and white shade but he really needs this.
Therabrand is donating 50 cents from each purchase of this pink and white one to PinkLink, a social community for survivors of breast cancer. While the amount isn’t that high and I wish it were more, it does add up quickly to help. Angelo David is a brand I’m sure you’ve heard about since he’s a famous NYC hairdresser with salons of his own. To help with cancer research they are donating $4 of the proceeds from their Pink Wet-&-Dry Hair Brush to the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation.
The Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation is an international organization dedicated to curing and preventing cancer. The Foundation is a pioneer in cancer research and its mission is to eradicate cancer by funding cutting-edge research that identifies and corrects abnormal gene function that causes cancer and develops minimally toxic treatments for patients. Through the Foundation’s collaborative group of world-class scientists, the Institute Without Walls, investigators share information and tools to speed the pace of cancer research. Since its inception in 1976, the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation has awarded approximately $90 million to support the work of more than 200 researchers across the globe. I will never use anything else on my wet hair than a Wet & Dry Brush. I avoid snarls, tears, split ends, and frizz when I use a Wet & Dry Brush and you will too. What’s better than a soft pink one too? Might as well have a pretty brush to make your hair as pretty as possible.
The Angelo David brush is very well made. It’s lightweight but gets through all snarls with ease. At first I thought of using it on my 3 year old but I decided to be selfish and use it myself. Feeling down about my fall, I love having this pink brush to make me look and feel better.
I can’t help but put in a plug for WINK #PinkWink while I’m writing.
WINK EYELASH & EYEBROW ENHANCER has helped me tremendously with my eyebrows. I not only love the product but the cause that they donate to is magnificent. For every Pink Wink sold one will be donated to a cancer warrior (my review HERE).
There’s only a few days left in October to help with these donations so don’t hesitate. All three items are ones you should consider because you’ll love them and others will love you for caring. — Marcia
