I should keep you in suspense but I’m terrible with surprises. The answer is TOTALLY AMAZING. Please keep reading though to find out why!!
When the weatherman says “If you think today was bad, just wait for the rest of the week” then you know you are in trouble. Every day has been hovering around 90 which wouldn’t be so bad if there wasn’t this horrendous humidity and stillness in the air. It’s hard to breathe outside. Cooling centers are popping up for people without air conditioning in their houses. Which leads me to my hair… how do I blow dry my hair when the weather is like this? The answer is simply MY AMAZING BLOW DRY SECRET.
There are 3 products in this line (sent for review): shampoo, conditioner and the creme de la creme Quick Dry Shake ‘n Spray.
My Amazing Blow Dry Secret (MABDS) is meant to cut your blow dry time by 50%. I don’t get 50% but I get precious minutes of time that I’m not frying myself and creating more hot flashes. I hate my hair when it air dries and I hate that I get so hot blow drying that I feel like I can’t win. But MABDS is helping me win. It typically takes me 15-16 minutes to blow dry my hair at my current length (a few inches past my shoulders). With these three products I’m down to 9-10 minutes. That has prevented me from overheating plus my hair loves this stuff.
The magic behind My Amazing Blow Dry Secret is what they call their Exclusive Coconut Oil Based Water Wicking System. What this does is helps speed up the evaporation of water from your hair. It leaves behind the goodness of the coconut oil giving your hair moisture, fighting frizz and leaving it shiny. It seems like magic but it’s science.
I wash my hair and then use the conditioner in the shower immediately after the shampoo ($26.50 each). The website suggests toweling dry, applying the conditioner, letting it sit and then rinsing. I’m not doing that and it hasn’t affected my hair styling. I can see though that if you wanted more conditioning that it might help. For me I just leave the conditioner on for about 2 minutes in the shower.
Then I get to use the wonderous Quick Dry Shake ‘n Spray ($25). As you can see by the bottle it’s in two layers – sort of like my Mary Kay non-oily eye makeup remover. You have to shake it to activate it. The top clear part has the quick dry ingredients, the bottom pink part contains the moisturizers, heat and sun protectors, frizz fighters and detangling ingredients. Shake it up and spray it on. Then blow dry and be ready to be amazed. I’ve tried the Shake ‘n Spray with other shampoos (shh – don’t tell the company) and it works great but it doesn’t save quite as much time. The three are made to work with each other to be totally efficient but the star of the show is Shake ‘n Spray.
Would I recommend this? Does a bear … oh never mind. The answer is yes. It’s been vital to my hair sanity this summer and it’s still July. MABDS is my new summer best friend and could be yours too. — Marcia
