Hey Dude Skin Care review and giveaway!

I had my hubby try the Cleansing Shaving Gel, so read on for his critique – as well as for a great giveaway!  You can enter to win the full size Hey Dude product of your choice, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

My husband tried the Hey Dude Cleansing Shave Gel ($14.99).  This is a low-foaming gel that is also a soap, paraben, and sulfate-free cleanser.  Here is a swatch:

It starts out as a slippery gel.  It has a rather subtle scent for a men’s product, and it smells appropriately manly – slightly outdoorsy.  Here’s my husband before shaving:

He is used to high foam shaving cream, so this was a new experience for him.  He took the gel and rubbed it on, working it into a low foam.

As you can see, it’s not a thick cream like most men’s shaving gels.  He was concerned that the gel would clog up his razor.  He’s used my gel products before and been very frustrated with them, so he didn’t think he would like this product much.

Much to his surprise, the gel really lifted his stubble so he was able to get a close shave.  It also didn’t clog his razor, and the extra product that did end up in the blades was easily rinsed out.  The formula has Eucalyptus in it – hence the outdoorsy scent – and this cleans the skin while also keeping it moisturized.

Because the gel lifts the stubble, there’s less chance of razor burn and ingrown hairs.  His skin afterwards was extremely soft, more so than it is with his usual products.  It had a nice soft scent and was absolutely kissable.  He really liked it, far more than he expected he would, and he says it’s something he would definitely repurchase.

Hey Dude Skin Care is made for the guy who wants simple but effective products that can multi-task.  They don’t want repackaged ‘girl stuff’, they want products made for a man’s skin.  Hey Dude certainly delivers, if your significant other shaves he will love the Cleansing Shave Gel.  – Lisa
