Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful – oops I mean because I’m holding out on you with beautiful items. I have become enamored with the gel eyeliner pencils from Painted Earth and I’m so busy using them that I keep forgetting to write about them. I’ve used them in many posts and pictures and mentioned them in passing but now it’s time to get real.
Painted Earth was sweet enough not only to send a few more products our way but also to offer a giveaway to our readers so that 2 of you can experience what I’m going to review today plus other favorites. The first time I used their Super Last Gel Liner Pencil ($18.50) I flipped over it. That pencil is black (Noir) and it’s definitely one of my favorite eyeliners. It’s the best black, it glides on and it lasts. Well now Noir has some competition because I also have this in Baroque and Florentine. There’s a great picture on their website of Baroque and if you’ve followed my color stories you know that I’m crazy about eye products in the khaki family. Baroque is a complex color with tons of brown, khaki, green and gold. It becomes a chameleon so that it’s perfect with all my eyeshadows in those tones. It’s a little bit metallic though the other shades aren’t. Florentine is a beautiful purple that is more like Noir. It too glides on and lasts with great pigment. These are not pencils that you have to apply over and over again to show up. They do the job they were meant to do and in a beautiful long-lasting way.
I’ve also been wearing some of Painted Earth’s Pressed Mineral Eyeshadows. When the owner sent these for review she chose a few colors for me to try out. Surprisingly one was a light yellow named Yellow Diamond. That’s not a shade that most owners would use to represent their line but I shouldn’t have been surprised. She knew what a winner this shade would be. It’s my favorite of all the shadows she sent me so forgive me if I gush about it more. This yellow is so subtle yet it brightens my eyes beautifully. It has a soft shimmer that’s barely discernible yet it’s enough to give this an ethereal quality. It’s an eyeshadow I think should be in everyone’s collection – you’d be surprised how versatile and important it has become for me.
I also have a few other eyeshadows, Tango Sheer Satin Shadow (peach with light shimmer), Tidal and Moss Green Mineral Matte shadows (dusty navy and green). One of the nice things about Painted Earth eyeshadows is that you get two options for buying a lot of shades. Pans are only $6.50 or $7.50 while compacts are $13.50.
