Were you outside this past weekend or do you have sunny day outdoor plans? Hard Candy is here to help with their Mix-In Pigment Makeup Drops. These $7 items will save you mucho dinero because you can adapt your foundation or moisturizer into the color you want. I’m not a sun person but even with sunscreen daily I’m still getting some color on my face and neck, it’s inevitable. My pale pale foundations make me look even more ghostly in the summer so having the opportunity to warm myself up and adding just the right amount of color is quite welcome.

These are part of the Glamoflauge line from Hard Candy and the Mix-In pigment drops are available in 12 shades from Fair 1 to Deep 3. These will help almost every skintone to customize their color. The lightest one is Fair 1 which I love in the winter because it lightens my foundations while the two I was sent will darken my foundations. No need to buy a foundation that I will only wear a little in the summer since I’m in control.

There are 3 deep shades with deep 3 being considerably darker than deep 1. And there are 3 medium shades, 4 light shades, and 2 fair shades. Start small and build up as needed. You’ll have fuller coverage if you add in more drops but if you just want to color adjust use a drop or two.

I chose one of my lightest foundations from Geri G to show you how you can change your shades. My advice is to shake the bottle well and then drop a tiny amount into your hand before adding foundation or moisturizer. You can always add more.

Another way to make some changes in your foundation is to make it MATTE! Hard Candy has the solution for that too. Add in TURN ME MATTE mix-in drops. Use it with any liquid or cream foundation to mattify the finish. If you get oily looking in the heat these mix-ins can change that for you.

This is wonderful for the T-zone since that shine will be gone plus it helps blur imperfections – and who doesn’t want that??

This is a thicker texture than the Makeup Mix-Ins but you still don’t need a lot to get a silky matte finish. Mix it in with your foundation before applying and/or use it alone on the areas you get shiny.

“The mattifying drops reduce shininess on the face, especially in the T-Zone, absorb excess oil and sebum, and minimize and blur pores to create a matte complexion. Skin will be more blurred, with pores becoming less visible.”

Hard Candy Mix-In Glamoflauge products are basically fragrance free since you won’t notice any scent on your face when used. A little goes a long way. At $7 each you can make major changes to your foundation wardrobe without making major changes to your bottom line. As my mom used to say “Try it, you’ll like it.”  —  Marcia

Those mix in drops seem so cool! I’ve noticed Hard Candy coming out with some fun products lately. I think I’ll have to check out the matte mix in, especially.

  2. Cindi | 29th May 17

I’ve seen Cover FX drops, but this Hard Candy line is more budget friendly, so I am interested in giving these a try.

  3. Lynne B | 29th May 17

YAY! I picked up the Cover FX drops a few years ago. You have to be careful or it could turn your medium of choice into a masklike appearance on your face. I love that Hard Candy has come out with their own version!

  4. Joyce Chitwood | 29th May 17

Wow I didn’t know they had a Mattifying one. I have seen the others. Not sure how to choose a shade to make it darker? But I think I will go check out their site and looks for tips. Thanks so much.

Whoever came up with this idea is literally like a genius! My color changes as my self tanner changes, and I literally have 10 different shades of cheaper foundation because I never know what color I’m going to be, LOL. With thIs, I can get my favorite foundation and maybe splurge a little on it, and then just add color as I need to! Genius! Freaking genius!

  6. betzy cuellar | 30th May 17

The mix drops is something I need to try.

  7. Judy | 30th May 17

I want to try the Turn Me Matte drops!

  8. Lola Seicento | 30th May 17

These mix drops sound well worth trying!

  9. Never Say Die Beauty | 30th May 17

Hard Candy is really rockin’ it these days. The price point on these is terrific. I bought Manic Panic white to mix-in but these shades look better. When I go to WMT for plants, I will check these out for sure!

  10. Christy Peeples DuBois | 30th May 17

These do sound and look like products I will try. Especially the Turn Me Matte to help with my oily skin and help blur imperfections. I will also try the drops because I do get more color during the warm months as you stated. Thanks for s great review.

This is a great idea and it’s great you can change your foundation color.

  12. Deborah Caudill | 30th May 17

Hard Candy is really moving into the future. I had no idea there was any product that could change the color and texture of foundation. I am definitely going to give these a try. The price is excellent! Thanks for always keeping us up-to-date on all of the newest and best products!

  13. Miranda | Slashed Beauty | 31st May 17

I really like the makeup drops for when I need to tint my makeup this way or that. Never saw the matte ones before!!

  14. Gabrielle | 31st May 17

What a fantastic idea. I could definitely use those Turn Me Matte drops. Dewy is a fine thing, but sometimes it’s just not the look I want.

  15. Bailey | 31st May 17

These are pretty innovative for a more budget-friendly brand, which is so great to see. I could definite use the drops for foundations that don’t quite match.

  16. Melissa Storms | 31st May 17

These are very interesting products. I would imagine with the mix in drops you could adjust your foundation from a winter color to a darker shade for summer. That would save money in the long run.

  17. anjali | 31st May 17

These mix drops sounds like awesome.

  18. Julie | 31st May 17

I have the matte drops, but had no idea they offer pigment ones as well. I love that drugstore brands are offering affordable options for products like this!

  19. Babi | 31st May 17

Oh it’s so cool they have custom drops now!

  20. Deb E | 1st Jun 17

I’d try a few of these since they are so affordable. I don’t get sun on my face but many times I need a darker makeup, especially as I get older. I’ve mixed a few shades on my own, especially with the powdered mineral makeup which is not as messy. I do prefer a matte finish though too.
