Do you remember the line “Double Your Pleasure, Double Your Fun”? It’s the trademark for Doublemint Gum. Or how about Certs Breath Mint’s “Two, two, two mints in one?” When I received Pixi Emerald Glow Eyeshadow Palette it felt so familiar. Then I swatched it and Certs and Doublemint came to mind.
Pixi’s Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Emerald Glow is two two two palettes in one. There are 6 beautiful shades of eyeshadow that are perfect for summer fun. What’s unusual about this palette though is that each shade has a complimentary shade that’s similar but darker. You have choices on how you can wear these colors. Go all light and airy with the top three shades; wear the bottom three shades and have a more intense eyeshadow look; or mix and match as much as you want. Now you may read this and say “I’ve had palettes like this” but I’m sure you haven’t experienced a palette in these shades before. That’s what makes this stand out from the crowd.
The Mesmerizing Mineral Palette in Emerald Glow is my second Pixi palette and this is just as wonderful, if not more so, than my winter palette.
Pixi Beauty currently has 3 new eyeshadow palettes that are color coordinated with great colors. My review is for Emerald Glow but there’s also Copper Glow (peach, bronze and russet) and Plum Glow (plum, cocoa and pinky-nude) that look just as wonderful. The shadows are silky and go on so smoothly. I find that they last really well when wearing an eyeshadow primer and they aren’t the least bit chalky. I never have to worry about pigment ending up on my face with my Pixi Beauty eyeshadows.
The jewel colors in the palette seem to reflect light. Pixi calls the shades “emerald, copper and cream”. I call them light yellowed cream, light pistachio, cafe au lait, light gold metallic, teal, and copper.
The first three shadows are the lightest shades. I love how the top shade can be worn as an eyelid shade plus it makes a perfect brow shade to complete any combination with the palette. The second shade is what I called pistachio because it reminds me of delicious pistachio ice cream. It has a beautiful summertime glow to it that I love. The third shade is a cafe au lait. Swept on with a brush it’s light but if you pat it on with a taklon brush you can get rid of the ‘au lait’ and have a pretty coffee/cocoa shade.
The bottom three shades are similar to the top but on speed. They are intensified and depending on the type of brush you use you’ll find that they can be etheral or intense. The 4th shade is a beautiful golden yellow when on my eyes. I love this shade! The 5th shade is one of the prettiest teal shades I’ve worn. And the bottom is a coppery bronze that I find particularly flattering on my brown eyes.
Emerald Glow brings together the sands and the surf in a magical way. The magic continues with the price of only $12 for all this beauty. Pixi Beauty is carried at Target so hopefully you have an up-to-date display but if not then get to the Pixi website and do yourself a double your pleasure favor. — Marcia
