When Top Ten Tuesday decided to use the theme of Stocking Stuffers the first products that came to my mind were Pixi Beauty’s new holiday sets. Icy Lip Luster in Snowbunny Glace and Icy Eye Palette in Buff Blizzard are the epitome of what I’d want in a stocking or would want to put in a stocking for the girls in my life. These two sets are wrapped for the occasion in Pixi’s metallic purple and silver boxes so nothing more is needed before putting it in a stocking.
I oohed and aahed when I received these for review and I know that anyone I’d buy them for would too.
The Icy Lip Luster in Snowbunny Glace is a set of 4 short chubby glosses in beautiful colors. These are just 2.25 inches tall so are easy to put in a clutch when you are out and about. The formula is ultra moisturizing, they have a slight fragrance of coconut so it reminds me of eating a Mounds bar. Two of the shades are creamy and full bodied (the tints), the other two are whispers of color with sparkle to add some lip brightening (the shimmery glosses). Pixi Beauty includes Vitamin E in the formula to keep your lips moist and nourished.
For $15 this is a lovely set that could also be broken up to give 2 – 4 pixi faces a beautiful pout.
The Icy Eye Palette in Buff Blizzard has my name written all over it. I love the quality, the colors, the texture and the finish of this set. It’s become a favorite that will last long after the holidays. There are 6 mineral eyeshadows in easy to wear yet striking shades. It comes with a dual sided foam applicator but I use brushes and get almost no fall out from the shadows. While some of the shadows appear to be very shimmery they aren’t that way on my lid. I’m not a matte shadow lover so the light shimmer from these are exactly the way I like my shadows. As you can see it opens from the top which makes it unique.
The first shade is a semi-matte in a brown with purple undertones, the second is a steel grey while the third above is a drop dead gorgeous golden brown that’s got a metallic finish.
With the last group of three there’s a semi-matte milk chocolate, a lighter golden metallic and an ice white with a drop of shimmer. The colors work together really well. At first it appears that the steel gray doesn’t fit in but it works really well with the golden brown, lighter gold and white – sort of like fire and ice. This beauty is only $12 and is one that will be worn all year long. Be sure to hurry to get this LE set.
