Face Stockholm has a gorgeous winter collection focusing on a nude eye and a dramatic lip. The Winter 2012 collection is entitled ‘The Beauty of Tradition‘, and it’s inspired by Scandinavian cultural traditions.
Face Stockholm says, “In Scandinavia, the traditional folk dress is characterized by a dominant color, bordered by bands of brilliant pattern. The influence of these costumes resonates in the choice of colors for holiday — the eyes and cheeks play a neutral role against the prominent, rich lip — she is reserved yet distinct, she observes traditions new and old.”
The collection features a cream blush, lipstick, mineral powder foundation, eye pencil, mascara, and eyelashes. I tried the two eyeshadows, Parlemo and Brunogd, and the Morocco Lipstick.
The Face Stockholm Matte Eyeshadows are very nicely pigmented and apply smoothly. The two shades in the Winter 2012 collection are Parlemo ($20), a shimmer glow, and Brunogd ($20), a deep brown.
I am not sure why Parlemo is listed as a matte shade as it is a shimmery eyeshadow. This is a very light, luminescent pearly white shade. I pack it on for a lid color, and go lighter for a brightening brow shade. It almost has a slight opalescence to it, and it really brightens the eye and makes it pop.
Brunogd is a deep brown, it reminds me of Bobbi Brown Mahogany or MAC Espresso. This is definitely dark enough to use as an eyeliner, and I love to use it in the crease for a dramatic eye look.
Along with a neutral eye, the Face Stockholm Winter 2012 look features a darker, more dramatic lip with Morocco Lipstick ($22). Morocco is a cream lipstick, and the color is described as ‘cream pansy’. which looks like a warm medium reddish-brown on me. It is very surprisingly wearable – I find that I reach for it often, although with my thin lips I need a slightly shimmery gloss over it to maximize fullness. I use either a clear shimmer, a pink shimmer, or a gold shimmer and they all look fantastic over Morocco.
The lipstick is a beautiful creamy formula that applies like a dream and lasts quite a while. It’s very moisturizing and goes on shiny, drying down to more matte appearance although it still has some slip to it.
Face Stockholm says: A dark, dramatic lipstick needs to be executed with care and a precise hand. We recommend using Medium Lip Brush #18 or the portable Retractible Lip Brush to apply Morocco Lipstick.
